As soon as he crossed the door, the dwarf pulled the trigger while aiming at the army. Tens of bullet shells began to hit the ground as the Gatling's cannons rotated at high speed.
The thunderous noise made with each shot surprised the cultivators, who saw their numbers reducing at an alarming pace.
Seeing what was happening, Owald activated the tattoos on his legs before kicking the ground. Brown energy soon entered the floor, causing it to rise, creating a stone barrier.
Even with that, the bullets were able to pass through the new defense even if they lost most of their power. The rest of the cultivators proficient with earth-energy copied Owald's tactic, trying to reduce the damage done by the dwarf, while the summoner took cover behind his stone gorilla.
"I can distract him a little. Do you think you can kill him if I give you a few seconds?" the summoner asked.
"I think I can," Owald replied.
"If the both of us attack at once, he shouldn't be able to defend himself," Zack said.
"Let's try it then," the summoner said as he drew two cards from his deck at once." Volcanic eruption! Primal Fire! Activate!"
Suddenly, the gorilla began to shine with great intensity as the fire on its body grew.
The summoner left the beast's back before it began to run toward the dwarf. Seeing such a creature nearing him, he focused his fire on it, hoping to take it down quickly.
But before he managed to kill it, the gorilla opened his mouth and puked a mouthful of lava at the dwarf.
Realizing he was in danger, the dwarf ceased his fire and evaded the gorilla's attack. Seizing that moment of opportunity, Zack and Owald jumped toward their enemy.
While Zack had his body covered in life-energy, his veins, in particular, shining with intensity, Owald's body wasn't visible at the moment, as the energy around him was so dense that it formed a monstrous coat around him.
Zack cut the air with his two-handed sword, releasing all his energy in a single strike, which caused his weapon to break due to the pressure while sending a powerful air slash toward his enemy.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The attack hit the dwarf, creating a deep cut on his exoskeleton and body before Owald jumped directly on him.
As if he was a beast, he began to hit, cut, and bite his enemy with his energy coating until all the energy around him dissipated. When this happened, everyone could see the battered body of the dwarf lying on the ground, lifeless.
At that moment, Owald realized that his enemy's weapon had something shiny, so he reached out toward it. When he touched it, it broke into thousands of light particles before becoming a ball of light and entering Owald's body.
"I think that was one of the things we needed," Owald said with an exhausted voice.
"I still feel something deeper, so I suppose we need to continue looking around," Zack said while looking at the door from where the dwarf came.
Zack looked behind him and saw the remains of the army. Almost every undead knight had died. Most of the cultivators were wounded, while some had died too. The losses were severe, but luckily, everything would be over soon.
After aiding those with critical wounds, Zack entered the door and walked down a tunnel until he found a new room.
This new room was even bigger than the previous one, and even with that, he couldn't see the floor with all the riches lying around. Gold bars, jewels, gems, and coins made of various metals filled the room. There was even the skeleton of a dragon between all the gold.
Seeing so many things, Zack focused his mind on finding his goal, and in less than a second, he already knew where to look. He inspected a pile of gold coins before finding a multicolored diamond the size of his fist.
After applying a little force to it, the gem broke into particles of light, and as it happened with the other items, they fused to become a ball of light before entering Zack's body.
'That should be everything,' he thought before leaving the room and returning with the others.
"Have you found anything? What was inside of that room?" the summoner asked as soon as he saw Zack.
"Yeas, there was a diamond, which was what we were looking for, but there wasn't much more besides that, just a few piles of metal," Zack replied with a smile.
After that, the army began to retreat toward the tunnel to leave the mountain as soon as possible. While leaving, they saw a few figures trying to hide from them but decided to ignore them as there was no need to follow them.
When they arrived at the camp, they found that the Esvert and the cowboys were doing well, so they picked up everything before retreating towards the portals that would return them to their worlds.
Before entering them, the groups said goodbye to each other.
"It's been a pleasure working with you, gentlemen," said the cowboy leader while tipping his hat.
"Same for us. I hope everything goes well for you." Zack replied with a smile.
"You may be weird, but you were definitely useful." said one of the summoners while looking at Ethan.
"Just keep believing in your cards, boy. I'm sure you will do well, "he replied while laughing.
"Thanks..." said one of the remaining knights before entering his portal.
After that, everyone entered their respective portals, which closed after everyone crossed them, leaving an empty plain once again.
