Chapter 100

Following the cry of the snake, the undead that were inside the city walls began to come out to aid it. This caused the number of zombies to increase again, making it difficult for the summoners to continue fighting.

"We need to help them before anyone of them dies. It would be problematic if the snake eats too much or if any other beast transforms into an enemy." Zack said while unsheathing his two-handed sword.

When he did this, he looked at the blade, and a small smile appeared on his face as he read the words "Divine Justice" inscribed on it.

Seeing that their leader had unsheathed his weapon, the members of Zack's group also took a fighting stance and prepared their weapons.

The group advanced towards the undead horde, followed by the Esvert and the Guburg.

As soon as they got close enough, they released all their techniques and spells on their enemies. Even though the zombies were tougher than they looked, they were also slow, so they didn't represent a real threat to cultivators.

What was a threat was the summoner's snake that got turned into an undead. Not only was it tough and fast, but it also gained the ability to release energy rays through the horn of its head.

The Esvert did their best to try to keep the beast away as they focused their spells on it while Yuoko and Guburg took care of the zombies.

Seeing how well the cultivators were doing against the zombies, the kid that was riding the golden eagle ordered it to get close to the cultivators before drawing a card from his deck.

"Aura card, activated! Divine Radiance of Isis!" shouted the kid.

Following his words, the card began to burn while an aura of golden light began to coat the cultivators. As if reacting to the light, those that were hurt saw their wounds recover at a quick speed, while the others became a bit faster and stronger than before. It was not a great buff, but it added to the previous superiority that the humans had over the undead.

Be it the brutal strength of the Guburg and their miraculous tattoos, or the precise and lethal techniques of the Yuoko, even those enemies that were wearing some armor offered no resistance to the humans' offensive.

"These things are too weak! They are not much more than training dummies with how slow they are." Owald began to complain about their enemies while he punched a few zombies.

"Yeah, I'm getting tired of this. I hope we finish these small frays soon so we can start with the snake." Zack replied laughing while he cut a few undead with a swing.

As they were complaining, they began to feel a dark aura begin to leave the city and move in their direction.

"Something is coming! Be ready for whatever it is!" Zack shouted to his men.

A few seconds later, above the walls of the city, a figure appeared.

It looked like a skeleton with two blue flames on its eye sockets. It was wearing a black tunic, and while on one hand, it was carrying a black book, on the other hand, it had a staff made out of bones.

"Etnaida!" he said with a creepy voice while pointing with his finger toward the cultivators.

As if following his orders, one of the city gates opened, and from it began to appear a group of undead dwarfs wearing metallic armor. Even though they were short, they moved much more skillfully and more agilely than the other undead, while at the same time, they carried weapons as if they were about to use them.

That caught the cultivators' attention, and they began to prepare to fight the newly arrived enemies. But before they could start fighting, something more happened.

"Edadilibed," the skeleton said, raising his staff.

Suddenly, dark energy surrounded the golden eagle and restricted its movements, and caused it to lower its flight altitude.

"Help! I can barely move!" shouted the teen that was at the back of the eagle.

But before anyone could do anything, the snake began to flap its wings very quickly, which made it move at a high speed. As soon as the eagle descended a bit, the snake flew towards it and bit it on the neck.

At first, the bird did its best to resist the snake's attacks, but after a few more bites, it stopped moving. Without losing a second, the snake ate the summoner with a single bite before starting to swallow the eagle's corpse.

The aura that was aiding the cultivators disappeared completely with the last breath of the eagle.

When the cultivators saw this, they tried to attack it while it was absorbing the eagle's body, but the undead dwarfs got in their way.

They began to fight the dwarfs, and before they realized it, the snake stood up again. It was bigger than before, and a golden glow covered its horn and wings.

Again, the snake raised its head towards the sky to release a cry, but this time, when the undead surrounding it mimicked its behavior, they became coated by a dark aura.
