Chapter 122

The snake glided smoothly through the sky until it landed on the island where the woman was hiding. As soon as it touched the ground, its scales changed color to brown to match the floor.

Having landed on one of the island's sides, the snake slowly began slither towards where it had seen the woman hide. Using its keen senses, the beast confirmed that its prey was still hiding in the same spot as it felt the vibrations caused by her movements.

Suddenly, another loud bang sounded across the sky, but this time it was the snake who ended up wounded, as a hole appeared on its body.

The beast's eyes filled with anger before opening its mouth and spitting a large amount of liquid in the woman's direction. Reacting to that movement, the woman shot a hook towards a nearby tree from the bushes where she was hiding before being propelled in its direction.

While she flew through the air, she shot two more times at the beast while aiming at its head.

The snake spitted liquid again towards where the woman would land before moving in that direction and evading one of the shots. The other shot landed on its body, but that didn't matter, as its prey had fallen into its trap.

As soon as the woman's feet touched the liquid, they became glued to the ground, unable to escape from the beast. The woman tried to free herself while she screamed, but all her efforts were in vain.

Taking that opportunity, the snake pounced on her and ate the upper half of her body in one bite.

With another bite, there wasn't any evidence of the existence of the woman other than the wounds on the snake's body and her hook still hanging from the tree.

After eating its first prey, the snake returned its attention to the other battle as it neared the island's edge to continue observing it.

Since the robed figure had lost an arm, he was at a disadvantage as he had lost a lot of his previous agility. Not only that, but he wasn't unable to use his pink light as proficiently as before, which caused his shields to be created in a much more hasty way, which at the same time caused them to be more fragile and gave less time to evade for each shield.

Also, as it only had one arm, it could only create and throw a dagger at a time, making it much easier for the armored figure to defend itself.

In the meantime, the armored figure continued swinging his sword at the robed one, and even if he wasn't managing to hit, it was still enough to drain his energy little by little until he managed to do it.

That continued for a few minutes until one of the swings landed on the robed figure's chest. Even if he didn't die instantly, he fell to the ground where the armored figure finished him with another swing before he could do anything.

Seeing this, the snake didn't hesitate to toss itself off the island and begin gliding toward its new prey. When it got close enough, the snake repeated its strategy and spitted liquid at its enemy from above.

The armored figure suddenly found himself in front of a giant snake after receiving the projectile's hit directly.

He tried to swing his sword with all his might, but soon found out he couldn't do it.

Scarlet light began to come out from between the gaps in his armor as the strength he applied to each of his movements increased.

Seeing that, the snake opened its mouth once more, but this time what came out instead of liquid were tens of air slashes that began to crash into its enemy's armor.

The air slashes were weak individually, but the combination of so many began to wear down the armor little by little. In no time, a few holes appeared on its surface, releveling that the armor was empty and only contained scarlet light inside.

After being damaged to such an extent, the armor began to lose its strength. With a hit of its tail, the snake ripped the upper half of the armor's body, but seeing that it was still moving, it hit it again, this time aiming towards the edge of the island.

Like that, the armor fell off the island before traversing the sea of clouds to never be seen again.
