After seeing the summoners leave towards the mountain, the cultivators finished their preparations before following their path.
The number of people that split from the main groups was ten: three Esvert, five Guburg, and two Yuoko.
"When you make sure everyone is fine, lead them towards the portal to our world before joining us on the mountain." Ethan gave instructions to his subordinates.
"Yes, Sir," they replied to him.
"Is everything ready then?" Zack asked while looking at his surroundings.
Both Owald and Ethan replied by nodding before moving toward the mountain. Because the other group had gone in the opposite direction to the city, the group had to walk down the path that they had already taken to return to the portals and then walk to the mountain from there.
About two hours later, they were already at the foot of the mountain. When they arrived there, they found the cowboys and the undead knights talking with the summoners while looking at the mountain.
"How is everything? Have you already finished your business here?" Owald asked when he saw that there wasn't any fighting going on.
"Sadly not. We have encountered a pebble on our boots here, "the leader of the cowboys replied.
"How is that?" Ethan asked.
"It seems like the mountain is inhabited. A race of dwarfs lives in an underground city under it. Even though we tried to breach in there, they managed to repel our attack with their advanced technology and their incredible fortification." the cowboy explained.
Looking behind them, the cultivators could see how some cowboys were dismantling one of their mechanic beasts that had been damaged to use its pieces to repair other mounts. Not only that, but some of them had lost a limb, so they were installing mechanical prostheses for anyone that needed one.
Stolen story; please report.
The same thing happened to the undead knights, with the main difference being that they could stick the missing limbs to their bodies just by putting them in the same place.
It was clear that the first battle of the other group had been harsh, so they needed to make a plan and find a way to enter the city under the mountain.
Even so, the sun in that world was about to set, so they decided to create a camp to spend the night while they thought about the plan.
When the camp was ready, the leaders of each group met in a tent to talk.
"Well, tell me all the details. We need to know everything before making any decision." Zack said to the cowboy.
"At first, it seemed like no one lived on the mountain, so we headed towards it while staying alert. But when we got to the ruins, we found ourselves ambushed when two towers emerged from the ground, and with them many dwarfs that began to shoot at us with their weapons. At first, we tried to strike back, but their superior position made it very difficult to hit them. When we realized we couldn't do anything, we lit a shuck and left as soon as possible." the cowboy explained.
"Wow, that's unlucky," Zack replied.
"But that's not all. When we were leaving, two flying machines with two spinning blades each began to follow us while shooting. They only left us after a quarter-hour of running away. "The cowboy continued explaining.
"So not only are there defenses around the mountain, but they also have a way to attack us from above. This can be troublesome." one of the summoners said." Do we know if there is an entrance to the city?"
"We haven't seen any, but I bet there are some around the mountain." the cowboy replied.
"Then we need to attack with all our forces to break through the entrance. If we waste too much time, they will reduce our numbers little by little." the summoner suggested.
"I think I have a much better plan." Zack said with a smile."You see, in my youth, I was an expert at creating assault plans, and I found a few situations like this before. It is as easy as this: if you can't use the main entrance, you just need to create your way in."
After saying those words, the leaders began to discuss the details of the plan.
A few hours later, a group of cultivators and one of the summoners meet in the middle of the camp.
"Abyss-Creating Mole, help me get to the end of this!" the summoner said while drawing a card from his deck.
From it, a two-meter tall mole with metallic claws appeared on the ground.
"Create a tunnel toward the mountain as soon as possible, please," the kid said to his summon.
Without losing a second, the mole began to dig at high speed and soon disappeared into the ground.
"Come on team, we need to expand and stabilize the tunnel," Ethan said as he began to work on the tunnel with another five cultivators.
