Chapter 81: Hidden Secret Part 5

Chapter 81: Hidden Secret Part 5

Julie walked alongside Paladin Blue with a smile as they talked about some matters pertaining to today’s training schedule.

She patted his shoulder as encouragement as he headed to the periphery to try to break his record of twenty three steps of yesterday.

Now that his body was swiftly adapting to this increased gravity she estimated his progress today to exceed at least by three fold. The phenomena here was indeed that much beneficial for him.

She looked at his advancing figure and couldn't help but find it more pleasing to her eyes. If before she only looked at him as a top prodigy she wanted to invest in now it changed to something more closer to her.

A kindred spirit who shared her views.

That was what she considered him ever since their joyous conversation last night. When she heard that he was also proficient in culinary arts she tested him as to how much he actually knew. To her shock he was very good at it to the point that they even ended up having a cooking competition in the middle of the night.

When she tasted his dishes she teared up as she could truly experience the very emotions and thoughts he put in to work on each single ingredient, his every particularity to satisfy the taste buds of the diner and the frightening amount of hard work he had put in to actually reach such a stage of perfection.

She proudly declared him the winner and even got him to share some of his insights and expertise with her.

Though he praised her dishes adequately, she knew inwardly that he only did so to not hurt her feelings. In her opinion, after having a taste of his cooking the “food” she made was nothing but some garbage that was made by those ignorant of this profound art.

The way she looked at him from that point on was very different.

Then both of them discussed and cooked for the entire night as they hit it off with how much both of them truly took this art seriously. Actually, it was mostly her making more requests of him to cook this and that recipe she wanted to try.

Those dishes from the Inner Area that he cooked from her recipes were such a work of art that she almost felt reluctant to even “harm” it by eating. She took many pictures and recordings of his cooking process for the entire night as they ate and laughed till the training schedule drew near.

She was truly happy to have met him, a masterchef, no he actually surpassed it, a grandmaster chef who could bring her such joy on the hobby she picked up from her earlier days as a player. This little hobby of hers was no longer such after years had been spent on it and now it had become her passion and dedication.

If she didn't have a combat class then she was sure that she would have gotten a production class related to cooking during her awakening ceremony. This was just how much she was serious about culinary arts even though she described it as a “hobby” to others who ever asked her about it.

She couldn't help but want to just stop this training schedule and get him to keep discussing and researching culinary arts with her for the remaining time on this special facility. However, she couldn't do such an unreasonable thing. This was after all an opportunity for him that she awarded for his previous top result.

She then decided to give him a very precious reward when he made it to the foot of the mountain within the remaining time. Actually, even if he couldn't do it, that reward would still be given to him. She was absolutely sure that he would be glad to have received it.

Though a certain someone would probably cause a ruckus and she had to handle it personally at that time.

Blue chatted happily with her after having completed the first segment of today's training schedule.

She gave him a dozen more vials but it was more exquisite than the elixirs along with a transparent liquid contained within it which was very different from the previous content. It was the next better quality concoction known as a panacea.

A cure panacea, to be precise.

It had the effects of curing all the injuries, depleted stamina, mental exhaustion, multitude of poisons, diseases and curses from the body and mind. This was a qualitative change from the previous elixir type concoction.

Such good stuff was worthy of being put in his subspace by batches and now that Julie was giving him this happily, he now secured a free supply channel. That being said he would obviously not be wasteful or hint her to give him more of it. That was akin to ruining the hard-earned image he managed to build in her mind.

Last night was a tremendous stroke of luck for him.

To think he would end up discovering her hobby of cooking and when he decided to take this approach to tread ahead he further discovered that it was no “hobby” but her obsession instead. Among the many arts he was proficient in thanks to his millions of years of experience cooking was one of them.

Regardless of dishes or the race of the diner, as long as he had the recipe he could tweak the dish to match the diner’s aesthetic and appetite tastes. He could obviously do more than this “basic” stuff but Julie would be shocked to her core if he actually got her to witness those last night.

Being too brilliant than her was acceptable as he already figured out her seriousness about culinary arts but if he revealed his true expertise in it then it wouldn't match with what an eighteen year old like him could have reached by dedicating his blood, sweat and tears for a handful of years.

After he drank the cure panacea he recovered within an instant and then continued for the next two segments.

Because his recovery speed was ignorable from now on his training time on the periphery was further utilized as he didn't have to waste tens of minutes in “recovery” from then on. Even when he had downed the dozen vials of panacea Julie just gave him more as the relationship had successfully taken the step to the next stage.

His first priority was thus completed.

Now he just wanted to quickly reach the foot of the Mountain of Triumph and get the fortuitous encounter that was present for him there. He wondered just what type of a treasure it was that it had still managed to evade her senses even though she was right here for two days straight.

The second priority will have to be completed tomorrow as he had already reached seventy one steps for today as the sun finally set on the horizon. His true strength here would have allowed him to go till the lower eighties but he couldn't do so for obvious reasons. The amount of panacea he had consumed was high enough to make those commoner teachers in the academy frightened from the sheer amount of money Julie was throwing at him.

For a noble lady like her it didn't even put a dent in her true wealth.

His level had progressed by three more and he was just one level short before entering the Third Skill Unlocking stage. His three attainments were displayed by him to have reached two phases higher than yesterday. He talked to her about how it was very close to the next one, particularly the “aura” attribute comprehension was about to enter the next stage.

With such tremendous progress, Julie had a more pleasant smile on her face as her eyes were brimming with satisfaction from just looking at his visage. She seemed to think of him as her kindred spirit and truthfully he had no complaints for now as long as she kept throwing stacks of cash at him just like today.

Even he never thought he would have such easy times when he just arrived.

From his experience, he knew that the moment he had ended up discovering her hobby of cooking it was bound to take this trajectory from his fine manipulation. Turns out that as long as two individuals had the same hobby then other matters were more pleasant to conduct with them and in his past life as Azure Limbo he took advantage of this fact to conquer many of the women who now made his faction one of the strongest back there.

He truly did invest, researched and practiced in many popular and unpopular arts to take them to a stage that was enough to impress just about anyone. This much dedication was needed to one day stand as a top powerhouse. This much passion was needed to keep conquering the women who ruled over countless, had influence from east to west, amassed wealth from north to south and stood with their heads high from the pride in their strength.

Now in his new life, he gets to enjoy the fruits of his past labors.
