Chapter 23: Primordial Element

Chapter 23: Primordial Element

In the evening, Laura noticed the front door of the mansion being opened and a handsome young man entering.

She was relieved to see him and hurriedly asked what the Guild Alliance instructed about him. The young man, Blue, just shook his head helplessly and replied that he would still follow the same schedule and go to the capital a week later.

He also assured her that nothing much happened so no need to worry about him. He would make sure to accompany Karla at that time.

Laura nodded her head as the lingering worries finally subsided. She asked if he had his lunch earlier or she should get something for him to eat. He told her that he was fine for now.

Karla appeared at that time with her silvery hair that completed the transformation. She swiftly hugged him and asked similar questions Laura just did.

She watched them and was inwardly shocked at her daughter's intimacy towards him. She then thought Karla might have been worried just like her so that would explain it.

He talked with them some more before he retreated to his room for rest.

She looked at his retreating figure and decided to call Clara who was also worried after learning about the incident from Karla earlier.

However at that moment, she felt uneasy again and this time it was an instinctive feeling. This uneasiness was similar to those few weeks ago when she would keep worrying about her son for no reason.

She quickly went to her room and checked the Life Lamp… it was still the same.

Then why was she feeling like this again?

Blue sat down on his bedside as he heaved a tired sigh,

"Sure enough, the players tested the blood and took samples of hair to conduct the gene test. They naturally found nothing special in those departments but these situations are still quite nerve-wracking."

If he had not made prior preparations then his vital cards would have been exposed today and it might have made the Guild Alliance even more interested in him than they had already become.

After he followed the wrinkled face player, he was taken into the nearest guild building where he had taken those tests. He also had to answer many questions about his background and all his life's events had been dug up. Like him being an adopted orphan, his life at the Verdant Orphanage, his current family's history and whatnot.

Of course they only found what he wanted them to find. He had been extremely cautious at each of his actions since he came to this world. It was to the point that even the greatest investigator would be duped. Things like the murders done by him on his first night, the entire orphanage being corrupted, his manipulation of the birthday registry to get adopted and even the times he went to that hospital to access his subspace were all cleverly erased with all the methods at his disposal.

Actually he had neglected the four elements part and other esoteric means during the time when he didn't had [Subspace] menu. At that time he only hoped that the traces would be hidden long enough. But the moment he got his subspace back he had thoroughly cleaned up all the traces he had no choice but to neglect before.

The Guild Alliance could only remain ignorant of his life history now.

Anyways, now that he had gotten some privacy and finished the annoying matters that sprang up after the awakening he could properly check his stats now. When he was following that wrinkled face player he took a cursory look at it and opted to focus on that present issue instead. His aether attribute was what really shocked him today.

Ding!

His existence level had gone from previous 0.14 to 0.44, an increase of a staggering 30 total. His physical race had changed from mortal human to awakened human, signifying his evolution as a species. The expected bloodline abilities that required aether to use had also successfully unlocked, easing some of his worries. A new physique ability had also unlocked after the awakening, though its name was a dead giveaway for what needed to be done to understand it.

There's also a perfect candidate available.

That's for later as his eyes were focused at the number 30 next to the "ability" part and he couldn't help but smile at the sheer amount of abilities he now had. From the previous 22 to now 30, an increase of 8 new abilities.

But his emotion became gloomy again when he remembered where he was, the Outer Area!

Regardless, the one that drew most of his attention right now was the aether vein attribute. It was actually the space element, one of the four primordial elements of aether. The visions shown during the awakening were in line with the information he had about others who had a four element affinity. They also experienced something similar at their birth as all abyss spawn awakens right after their birth.

An awakened human typically had to learn more from their predecessors records about the attribute they awakened or through their own effort and they could only actively use the attribute when they had gained some comprehension of it. Only at that moment could they properly make use of their aether attribute to activate the class skills they gained. That's when a player was born.

Blue didn't have to go through such hardship as the bloodline ability Aether Control let him freely control surrounding aether to his will and the Aether Moulding made it so that he could mold the aether to his attribute thus using it to his heart's content. However he would still try to comprehend this space element as he knew that only by properly comprehending it could there be more versatile usage methods he would be aware of.

Now, the class he got after awakening.

The Blight Paladin, suspected to be a combat-related class that was a variant of the very rare Paladin class. Carnova's local guilds didn't have any information on it and the reply they received from the capital after their report was that they also didn't have anything about it.

But since he awakened he would still need to follow the previous schedule. A week later at the capital they would do some more tests to understand his attribute and if they couldn't make any breakthrough on that matter then they could only leave it to the academy to figure it out.

Or so he was told.

The class level was at 1 from the start. He first thought that the system would follow the existence level's pattern and display it as zero point something but it apparently stuck to the more familiar setting the players followed in Endless Void.

A class would come with some relevant skills. When he got the class he also automatically learned the names of the skill he had also gotten and the knowledge of how to use it. This information was relayed to him by the natural aether in the environment. This was just one of the many mysterious aspects of it.

The three class skill's usage and further proficiency increase could be done at the academy as there were relevant resources, training materials, instructions and teachers available to fulfill such needs. He wouldn't put much attention on it for now as he was more curious and eager to comprehend the space element within this week.

Every person was unique. So the attribute they awaken will also be unique since the aether more or less reflects on that person's individuality, common thought process, their four elements and experiences in life. The races who could awaken at birth thus only emphasized on the newborn's four elements more since it was the only thing that would be the determining factor for their attribute affinity.

Even if someone awakened to fire, which was very common, there would be some differences. Sometimes there would even be a variant of it which was commonly known as extraordinary attributes. His Frost Flame was one such example.

One of his women from the previous life had affinity to the fate element but it had a uniqueness that she was able to perceive the threads of fate that were significant for her life or those she cared deeply for. This speciality was naturally absent in others who also had fate element affinity.

So going with that logic, the space element he had an affinity with in this life where he had a human body and a mysterious system residing within him, the uniqueness produced because of these would be so different from others that it was bound to add to his reputation later on. There's also another matter which would keep him busy through the week.

The main mission that had been put on hold needed to be commenced.
