Blue wasn't very keen on history specifics. He would rather use history in a way that benefits his goals. After all, history was written by the victors and had it been the abominations that won then it would have been an entirely different universe he lived in.
That being said, the abomination type Luna was under was commonly known as Regressor.
They were frightening individuals as they could just go back in time to keep on trying without having truly failed in life. Such unfair ability of theirs was known as Time Sanctuary ability and thanks to core denizens efforts and willingness these informations were available to those who looked for them.
Now that he has the system he had additionally known that it was actually an innate ability instead.
So, this Time Sanctuary allows the Regressor to go back in time on a chosen set period or a random period through the activation condition such as death or something less demanding. Not all Regressors were the same so it varied but the main pattern remained the same.
This ability would make a sanctuary centered around the Regressor and anyone within the sanctuary would have their four elements tied to the Regressor in such a way that whenever the time looped back, there could be no way to defend against it thus others involved or within the sanctuary would also had to go through whatever the Regressor was going to do in the past timeline.
This is very complex to explain.
Take for an example the Regressor died, a typical activation condition, and went back in time. Now where they went back could be either random or a chosen period in the river of time depending on each abomination themselves. After regressing, others in the sanctuary in the present timeline would also go back in time along with them and the present timeline outside the sanctuary would sense that nothing has occurred.
The time had now gone back within the sanctuary and it would be in an accelerated state to head towards the original timeline again.
The unaffected ones who had no link in any four elements with the affected ones would naturally not see anything wrong. There were two instances where the previously unaffected ones would become a victim to those Regressors.
Firstly, stumbling inside the sanctuary when the time had been accelerated after the loop since on the outside it would appear as an empty space. Secondly, having a four elemental link with one of the affected when the regression was triggered.
As for what happened to them, they were the same as those in the sanctuary, to keep regressing whenever the ability was activated but in a different manner. They, however, wouldn't be able to affect the original timeline outside the sanctuary in any way as the Endless Void is not that fragile to be submitted to an individual’s whims.
Whatever happens inside, like making the Regressor as the “protagonist” within the sanctuary as the “plot” continues, would remain within the sanctuary till the timeline inside finally catches up with the outside. Those outside, who got affected for being too unlucky, would have their memories “appropriately” tampered permanently that would suit the Regressors’ path taken in that loop.
After the time inside catches up the sanctuary dispels and the empty space from the outside view would appear back how it was used to be but of course, the Regressor might have drastically altered everything inside it so… that would be up for view.
Unaffected ones would remain oblivious until they used some targeted methods to check for any of their acquaintances who had been behaving strangely or that empty space was detected by them while having appropriate protection against it.
Of course, this seemingly invincible regression wasn't infallible as many contemporary items and equipment of four elements was available for handling this abomination type. Now that other denizens had won the Chaotic Epoch's decisive war and Artifacts enriched in special aether became widespread in the void from the next epoch those Regressors can't stir up any waves again.
This much was known to him but with the system’s reward he got some more understanding about Regressors.
The Time Sanctuary innate ability was common to Regressors because of the reason that one who had it has the potential to attract a tributary of the river of time within themselves. With this potential the Regressor apparently had managed to fulfill a condition. As for what specific reason this condition was present for in the first place was still a blank for him.
“The river of time… even among the other abominations the Regressors were always very attuned to it and with this information it seems that whatever was happening among the Regressors internal circle is something only the likes of a core denizen could know. Fortunately, it has been leaked to me now.”

Blue muttered as he felt good for knowing something that he actually didn't already know. Not all core denizens would be aware of this information, in his opinion, but the likes of Enshrouded Blade and obviously Grand Duke Arthur was in the know. After all, one of them was a renowned player with a title who lived for who knows how many epochs and the other was the very founder of the player civilization.
Even if Luna's true self didn't know, he was 100% certain that Arthur knew. The guy was a participant of that war back in the first epoch, after all. It would be strange if he was also oblivious.
“Anyways, the likes of me can't even begin to imagine what's going on in the background behind the known history so let's just put that aside for now.”
He got up with a self-deprecating remark and then took out a jade urn out of his subspace. This urn had patterns of screaming faces on the surface and as he turned it around a particular face of a young human male came into view.
“This Xavier wasn't disappointing. To think I would bag a time element aether vein belonging to an awakened human this easily. Heh! Even my past self would be hard-pressed to get something like this!”
The face that was displayed was of Xavier’s who had died earlier. He had used an Artifact to collect the aether vein after much of his manipulation.
This Artifact had many aether veins stored from his past life. Those veins naturally belonged to his victims. With Xavier’s addition he finally got his hands on a new type. It wasn't that easy to get this rare commodity as all elemental affinity beings were either under heavy protection from their factions or had already reached a level much higher to ensure their own safety.
A little Xavier still wet behind the ears with no faction wouldn't pop out so easily.
“As expected of Julie. She soul searched out of caution. If not for the fact that I got Thomas to act only after he knocked him out then it would be an oversight leading to more variables.”
He couldn't help but pat himself on the back. After all, as a master schemer he would always consider from others perspective before crafting the scheme to ensure their reactions were included in it.
Alongside the mission rewards, relationship updates and the Compass of Fortuity Artifact, this aether vein of time element collected from Xavier was his overall gains in this venture.
He was satisfied with the results.
Thomas wasn't suicidal or anything. It was all his plans from the very start to tie up the loose ends.
After entering the academy he promptly got to collect information about Xavier, a student who had an elemental affinity like him. His discreet search results got him to craft the present plan.
He then looked for an agent who would do his bidding and chose Thomas, an inconspicuous guy. Thomas's habits and personality were perfect to carry out the later part of the plans. Blue then used an item from his subspace to make the guy slowly head towards suicide.
He also had instilled in him concepts such as “a last thrill” that was required before commiting “the act”. With all this set up he manipulated Thomas to befriend Xavier and had further indirectly given mental suggestions through many esoteric items to keep them developing till it finally reached the point where the malicious comparison between Blue and Xavier began.
Obviously, he also had a hand in fanning the flames by making it circulate throughout the academy by his fanclub. He had effectively used them for this decisive moment to firmly paint Xavier as an inferior student compared to his glorious self.
It was necessary to make it legitimate toxic stanning behaviors as later investigation about this was bound to point towards oddity as to how the incident even sparked because of it.
With the fire ablaze, the invitation to the lunch was made and he finally got Thomas corrupted by using Mind Corruption and then the Soul Corruption. It was easy for him as this newbie player hadn't got any defensive means against his bloodline abilities of an abyss spawn.
He naturally did it in such a way that unless a soul search was conducted those abilities on Thomas wouldn't be revealed. After having done this difficult part he then instructed Thomas on the ending part of his plan.
So as Blue fucked the reincarnator violently, Thomas on the other hand used the jade urn to collect the specific body parts on Xavier after knocking him out. After that, only Xavier’s death was needed for the last part of collecting the aether vein in completion. He also got him to not leave behind traces by giving Thomas consumable items to remove any clues regarding it.
With the collection done, Thomas then knocked him and Luna out before going to a specific place away from surveillance to activate a hidden teleportation circle to transport the jade urn back in his subspace. It was only a one-time usage teleportation circle Blue had drawn for the retrieval with an added self-destruction mechanism stuck in it.
Thomas then obediently burned himself to death in accordance to the instructions and more consumables Blue had provided for this very moment. With most of his body near ash for being burned for so long without any interference from others all postmortem four elemental methods were unavailable for the academy to conduct.
Because his soul was already corrupted by Blue, he had set the self-destruction order in it which would trigger only after having burned the body till it no longer was suitable to be the soul's vessel. There was no chance that a corrupted soul would be able to head towards the Netherworld so he had to wrap up the case like this.
This is how this abyss spawn deceived the academy. The psychological play inside the plan truly made him worthy of being a “player” in a skewed sense.
