"Mr. President, we have received the rest of that report you ordered. It turns out that everyone seems to have received what many of the tech experts have been calling a system with the exception of anyone under 10 years old. At certain locations where some of the nukes have been detonated there are cracks in the earth and creatures we have never seen before have been coming up."

President Hogan sat at his desk in the oval office flipping through the multiple reports from across the country.

"What is the deal with these scorpion monster looking things? This report says bullets don't really work on them. Have we tried...bigger bullets?"

Matty, the presidents primary assistant and compiler of the report shrugged. "According to the DOD they have started using high explosives and bigger rounds. The success varies based off creature type and ammo type. It turns out these creatures are not a fan of the A-10. Whatever ammunition that plane uses shreds them and every single time the Marines on ground hear that they giggle like a bunch of maniacs and always say "plane goes brrrrrrrr." He said throwing up air quotes.

President Hogan giggled. "Those bastards would. We have multiple fronts within the country, and we have re-established communication with most of those fronts. Have we any news from the SecDef about how this is progressing?"

Pulling another file from the few he had in his arms, Matty handed it over to the president.

This report was given to me by Mr. Robinson's assistant. The SecDef does not seem to be a fan of not being able to, as the assistant put it "stack bodies."

President Hogan threw his head back and laughed a full belly laugh. "That ass hole on day one of this, killed one of the cerberus monsters with a knife while half drunk in silky American flag shorts and crocks not even in sport mode, I think he will be fine."

The president had been overseeing the establishment of "guilds" as many of his staff nerds spoke about for the gathering of jobs and future enforcement. They were talking about how this was like the "japanimations" they have watched. The president began looking through the file and comparing it to the logistics and "path" reports he had been receiving as people began to understand the system. The joint task forces he had set up seem to be containing the rifts and the monsters as he was hoping. "Any positive stand outs in classes I should keep an eye on?" He asked.

Matty moved to the folder in front of the president.

"Unfortunately, with all of the chaos, parts of the country have fallen into anarchy where these "warlords" have figured out how to use their path to ensnare whole regions under their rule. There is massive amounts of crimes and depravity. On top of the monsters pushing in from the rifts. The SecDef has deployed troops to try to "unalive those fucks" as he put it and he has had some success as the system is still new. The other points to pay attention to is the increase in the paths of healing popping up. Luckily there are many people in the health field prior to the rifts that have moved into healing paths. There are two we have heard about that take healing to a nearly miraculous level and the state military have moved to protect them. One is in Pennsylvania and the other is in Tennessee."

President Hogan nodded completely not surprised by his choice of SecDef and his attitude, but that's why he picked him. If something needed to die Tod would kill it.

In positive news looking at the third folder in front of him they have gotten a head start in passing state laws concerning the use of these "superpowers" everyone was getting. Once the rifts are contained, they would have to figure out ways to regulate the hunting of them for parts for crafting paths that have popped up and use that to help the economy which led him to the healing point of the report.

"What are the names of the two super healers?" He asked still shaking his head at the nerd speak.
