Sorin had it pretty nice where he was. He had a great view of his team and the defense point. It was twilight on the seventh day of the defense portion of the exam and he was ready for things to be over with.
He had spent the days refining his control over his skills and fine tuning them. All of his fire techniques were now so compressed they were blue and white. He could incinerate anything near him within seconds and even burned his way into a large tree in case it rained and he wanted to nap. They were well passed the three-day minimum mark and he had not noticed any signal from Euryale to move to the final defense point, so he was pretty content with that.
*Thud* Sorin snapped up and began to look around. He looked across at the bridge and saw the largest turtle he had ever seen in his life. *Thud* each step it took was massive and though it appeared to be slow it ate up the distance. This turtle must have been at least 60 feet tall. He saw the three members of the team cross the bridge knowing full well this monstrosity, would not be stopped by their tiny, in comparison, barricade.
This beast was well outside of his normal range at over a kilometer away so he just sat back and waited. His team had stopped approximately 100 meters in front of the bridge and looked to be gearing for the team trump card. There was something they knew that he did not if they were preparing this early for it.
*Thud* It was nearly within his range. He didn't want to wait much longer so he moved down toward the river further and prepared to attack the turtle with fire at a distance and if it made it to the river begin ruining its evening with water. Sorin began drilling underneath the riverbanks with streams of water creating many weak points where something of significant weight would cause a collapse and sink into it. *Thud*
Sorin hopped others were not seeing one of these too. If it were the case hopefully, they could bring theirs down as this was going to probably be a brutal task for them. Sorin kept drilling with this water and weaking the ground further and further out on both sides of the bank until Team Aegis began their assault. With one hand Cain and Linx fired a superheated stream of blue fire directly at Euryale who began to glow with her passive skill. She took on her burning image of the gorgon of legend and raised her hands to the sky where a swirling vortex of flames formed quickly. Larger and larger it grew lighting up the night sky until she sent the massive sheet of blue and yellow flame spinning violently at the turtle. On contact it flowed around the beast revealing the mini forest upon its back and began to set it on fire. The turtle slammed down to the ground while beginning to glow green causing gouts of dirt to spring up and begin to dowse the flames. With the same glow, Sorin saw the plants on its bag begin to visibly grow back as if they were snakes slithering from the shell itself.
Euryale didn't stop. She slammed the ground with her hand sending a sheet of what seemed to be magma shooting out covering the once very green clearing and small plain they knew in what seemed lava. The flames licked up the legs of the beast and caused it to bellow in pain and stagger, but shook itself as dirt forcing mud to begin sluffing off his back and expanding as if it had a mind of its own putting those flames out as it had the other flames.
Then Sorin smiled as she and the others on his team pulled a page straight of his own book and raised their arms, summoning a massive amount of bright white condensed orbs and began launching.
*Thoom! Thoom! Thoom! Thoom!*
Explosion after explosion hit the turtle, but seemed to do very little to the beast and it kept coming. It was almost on top of them, so Euryale called for a hasty retreat, moving quickly across the bridge and that is when Sorin began to grin the insane grin he was known for in times of crisis or pressure. Over atop the turtles head the air became charged with electricity.

*Flash!* *Boom!*
A lightning bolt slammed down on the turtle's head. The turtle pitched forward head impacting the ground with a rumble that was felt all the way near Sorin as it began to spasm which looked like massive movements being that creature was so large. His team began to push away as Sorin lined up a second lightning strike, but the turtle was smart. It pulled its head back into its shell and the bolt impacted it shell and did nothing to it. It was channeled into its shell and dissipated somehow.
As the turtle hid its head, fire began slamming into it again from Sorin's team members from a safer distance, forcing it to come back out and keep walking toward them and that is when it stepped directly onto the weakened land causing it to fall forward for the second time and it began to sink down.
The massive turtle raised its head and took a huge step up placing it's foot on another part of the weakened ground it held for a moment then crashed inward. The turtle groaned in frustration sinking deeper into the ground. It began to glow and manipulating the earth to firm up, as Sorin pumped more water in fighting against the beast.
Fire continued raining down on the turtle as it tried to focus on the ground to get itself unstuck. He looked over at his team. Euryale seemed to be the only one not looking to be running low on aether.
Linx looked in Sorin's direction and mimed putting his hands together and pushing outward again and again.
Sorin smirked and sent a small flash of light where they could see it as a sort of confirmation, then he moved swiftly down and around the turtle where he could see a very scaley tail and a less armored hind end.
He had seen a funny video once about a dragon being completely impervious except for one spot....yeah that's right....it's butt.
He began charging his thermal Ion cannon. The bright orb condensed down further and further adding more and more aether the turtle tried to turn but was stuck in the mud trying to turn and then it raised it's tail to slam down in frustration.
With a smile, Sorin fired.
Vvvvrrrmm....thoooom! The beam of condensed fire flashed up and slammed right into the butt of the turtle. It hit like a wrecking ball lifting the turtle up slightly and continuing to burn. Smoke billowed from the turtle and he could already smell the flesh being burned.
It let out a high pitched squeal as the beam began its slow burn through its massive body. Sorin pushed even more aether through into the beam. He pulled his AP up to check and got a little worried seeing it down to 4500, he cut off the beam and darted backwards.
The turtle was making horrible sounds of agony as the flesh continued to burn. Sorin darted back as the turtle with a massive heave of rage and aether shifted the earth under it toward Sorin.
The rest of his team darted in on the heavily damaged and distracted turtle. Cain began drawing out his blood techniques as Linx began working on boosting Euryale as his expertise in vital point strikes was proving less than useful.
With a bellow, Sorin hear# the moment that Cain began to set its blood on fire while also causing the blood to lose its ability to transport oxygen to the beaat. Sorin could see blood begin to drip from the eyes, nose, and mouth of the giant beast as it grew weaker and weaker.
His job was done. He darted back into the trees and watched as the beast finally collapsed dead to the ground.

*huff...huff*
All three of them panted as sweat poured off each of them in buckets.
"My lady, I believe this beast must have been a higher tier or a champion. We might need to fall back to the main defense as I don't think every team can face one of these." Cain said beginning to regain his breath.
Euryale stood up to her full height wearing and began looking around.
"Agreed, but first we want that beasts core. Linx, you're the most skilled at extraction of cores. That's your job. Cain, you're to check on Sorin and let him know we are about to fall back. I'm going to pack up our stuff and get some robes back on." She said.
"Yes ma'am!" They both said and darted off in their different directions.
"Attention! Attention! The defense portion of the exam in now complete. Remain in location for extraction!"
An extremely loud voice carried across what seemed the world at the magnitude it was blaring.
Euryale breathed a sigh of relief and got dressed waiting on their ride out as she saw Cain and Linx return.
