Nyx was flabbergasted at what Kyrain had just said. He was a hunter who had just read her the miranda rights.

"What the heck is going on?!" She asked extremely upset.

Kyrain was slightly confused as well as this wasn't the reaction he had expected either. Nothing matched the warrant save for her path and he believed name.

"Take me to my room here in the hotel and I'll show you that you were my target given to me by the program." Nyx said frustration, confusion, and embarrassment all over her face.

Kyrain nodded then latched back onto her with his skill to cut off what aether she had left and helped her up. They walked down the stairs to the 3rd floor. She indicated to her pocket where Kyrain found a key and slid it into the lock and the door opened adding more to Kyrain's confusion. Why would she have a room here if her last known address was the appointment complex?

Twisting her hands around to the front and pointing to the closet. "Go to the safe and type in 200200# and pull the packet out. I have a feeling it will be just like yours." She said.

Kyrain pushed her shoulder down so she sat on the bed. "I'm not moving." She said with a straight annoyed face.

Kyrain nodded then went into the closet, punched the code and pulled out the packet. He closed the safe door, walked out opening the packet to pull out his picture and a nearly identical warrant of capture.

He looked up at Nyx then with a sigh he focused on his shadow and all the others in the room where Eclipse could be watching and nullified all of them.

Sure enough, she materialized from the corner. "Ma'am, what is this?" He asked. Just then Eclipse's cellphone rang. She answered it and put it on speaker.

"You're on speaker Phoenix. " Eclipse said as she looked at both Kyrain and Nyx.

"Well done to the both of you. Not only did you successfully find eachother, even by accident, but you reacted in accordance with the warrant. We didn't have to step in and stop a killing blow, though whatever you did at the end there Kyrain was rather scary....anyway, you also kept an open mind to the evidence and collected more evidence while remaining mindful of deception. Using what information you had on hand with the evidence provided, you more or less called higher command to confirm information." Eclipse explained.

Phoenix chimed in at this moment. "I was watching from another perspective and saw everything. You have all done spectacularly. We will send our observations to Quantico, but now begins your probationary period. We are responsible for you and will be assigning you specially selected targets outside of the level 1 targets that will be available to you in the guild screens. We might even call you in to assist us in a capture." She said.

"Ma'am sorry to interrupt, but can I get out of these?" Nyx asked shaking the handcuffs.

Kyrain pulled the keys without being prodded by anyone and undid the cuffs on the disheveled woman's wrists and taking them back.

Rubbing her wrists she looked up. "So what now? We just go our separate ways and wait on a call?" She asked.

"No, you and Kyrain are assigned partners for the next year. Any job that is assigned, is assigned to both of you, with the profits split the same." Phoenix said.

Kyrain and Nyx looked at eachother then turned to Eclipse. Where do we go in the meantime? Nyx asked.

Eclipse just shrugged. "You're grown, figure it out. Just make sure that if we call, you respond or show."

After a brief pause Eclipse looked at Kyrain. "Can you unblock the shadows now, I don't want to have to force my way into them. It takes so much more aether to do." She said.

Kyrain took his antimatter from around them and gave her a nod. "It's done Ma'am."

She looked between the two of them. "Good job and we will be in touch. Oh, one last thing, you may not take any jobs alone. You must always go together. Once you're out of your probationary period then you can go solo. " She said with agreement of Phoenix. She then hung up the call and vanished back into the shadows.

Kyrain opened up his aether sense and looked at each of the shadows. Though he couldn't see Eclipse directly, he could tell when she was there due to the higher aether levels in a specific shadow, but there were none this time.

"She isn't in any of the shadows anymore." He said looking up and Nyx.

"Do you have plans for where you want to go?" He asked her.

She just shook her head. "Not really. You?" She asked.

"I'd like to return to my home town where I plan to make my main area. If it's all good with you?" He replied questioningly.

"Yes, that would be suitable." She replied.

"Suitable? Alright your majesty." Kyrain laughed.

She gave him a deadpanned look. "Please don't call me that." She asked

Kyrain shrugged then tore a rift open and walked through it to the front of the guild hall before looking back.

"You coming?" He asked as he saw Nyx looking at the opening to the rift.

"Yes, I'm coming, it's just impressive that you can do this." She said as she stepped through.

"How far did we go?" She asked.

Kyrain just pointed up to the building drawing Nyx's attention.

Clarksville, TN Guildhall

She seemed rather impressed.

"Well let's go check in and you can see if they have a room you can check out. I also need to call my mom to let her know I'm back in town. She will want to have dinner." Kyrain said.

Nyx held up a hand. "My code name is Eon." She said quietly. Then walked off to get a room. She was still beyond exhausted from her fight with Kyrain and needed to recover from the shock of what his skill did to her mentally.

After checking in with the guild and looking at the available bounties, he went and met up with his mother.

At dinner his mother was laughing at the ridiculousness of his final exam. After a bit, she stopped laughing she looked back at her grown son with nothing, but pride and love then got serious.

"What does she look like?" She asked.

Kyrain knew that tone. "Mom....she is just my assigned partner." He said defensively.

"Is she pretty?" She asked.

Kyrain stammered. "W-what does that matter? I don't know." He said ears beginning to go red which did not escape her attention.

"She comes over tomorrow for dinner." Brittanie said.

"Mom....no way!" He exclaimed drawing some eyes around them at Texas Roadhouse.

"I thought she was just a partner?" His mom said with narrowed eyes causing Kyrain to reel a bit. "She is mom." He said firmly.

"Mmmhm. We will see tomorrow night. She will be there or I'll call your uncle and tell him you have a girlfriend." She said.

"That would be a lie though." He said confused.

"Do you think Uncle Kody will care?" She responded casually taking another bite of her streak.

Kyrain froze then his face began to morph into a state of pure horror. He knew his uncle would do everything in his power to embarrass him no matter if he liked the girl or not. It happened once.

"Dinner tomorrow then mom. She will be there." He said.

Brittanie just smiled and looked incredibly smug.
