"Your world, if it is what I am beginning to think it is, would be what we knew to be called Eden. The entire birth place of all life. When the Almighty created mankind, He did so there at Eden. It was an absolute paradise, but He gave man free will. They used this free will to betray the Almighty and surrender the paradise known as Eden to the demons and devils who were the first rebels." Euryale began.
Sorin jumped in with a question already.
"If that was the birthplace of all life, then how did everyone get everywhere, and where did all the other races including yours come from?"
She nodded then replied.
"Legends say that everyone came together and began to build a tower to be like God, but they had their language scrambled and they were scattered to the four corners. We don't really know as much was lost in the deluge and the wars."
Sorin nodded with a smirk. "Are you referring to what we call Babel?"
"Thats the one." She answered.
"So how did the other races and species come about then?"
Euryale thought a second before she spoke again.
"Through genetic manipulation and seeding by the demonic who were still actively trying to destroy mankind. The beastkin, dragonkin, orcs, elves, fairies, pixies, dwarves, and all the others races are based off the human model originally created by God. Even the Elder dragon's primary form is human, but they can shape shift into their dragonic form to multiply their powers massively."
Sorin swirled the fluid in his cup.
"I'm guessing that is what Ouroboros, Amaru, Orochi, and the other dragons if legend are?" He asked.
"Yes, save for Orochi. He was a gentic experiment according to history. That monster was an amalgamation of Elder dragons and idea that was thought of from how standard hydras are made through the combination of lesser serpent drakes. When the Elder dragons combined, their mental capacity vanished and it was all instinct behind all that power. Orochi exists on a planet in the second region under careful watch of Merlin." She explained.
"Merlin...like King Arthur and the knights of the round table Merlin?" He asked in suprise.
"Yeah, what other Merlin is out there?" She said with a smirk.
Sorin frowned.
"Ok...I'm going to fire off a few names. Let me know if you know them. Morgan Le Fay." He said.
"Its Morganna of the Fae, but yes. Once ally of Arthur turned enemy and mother of mordred who nearly killed Arthur." She responded.
"Hercules." He shot back.
"If you're thinking of who I'm thinking, it's pernounced Heracles. Son of Zeus and a mortal woman and named after Hera which she took as an insult. Nephilim killed by poison if I remember right."
"What about Gilgamesh?" Sorin said next.
"Nephilim King of Uruk. He went for immortality, but I believe failed. He was one of the few to actually slay a demon if legends are correct."
Sorin was stunned by the information, but tossed a whopper at her.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
"Shenlong." He said expecting a blank look, but got a look of suprise.
"Shenlong is an Elder dragons that lives in the Valley of the Dragons in Region one and is the right hand of Emporer Ouroboros. He left Eden at the request of the Emporer and has resided in the valley ever since only to emerge when he is tasked by the Emporer. How do you know about him?" She explained and asked.
"Shenlong is a legend and myth on my world. Nobody believes he actually existed." Sorin replied.
"I guess the old adage that all legends contain some truth, I didn't expect them to have this much truth." Sorin said.
Euryale nodded with a smile.
"It's funny you bring up legends. I was going to take you to the fates to figure out a way to get you home." She said.
Sorin nodded.
"Of course they exist. Let me guess, Clotho, Lechesis, and Atropos?" He said with an air of sarcastic nonchalance.
"Well that's their title. Their names are actually Ally, Bri, and Chelsea. They each have their own path that has individual powers, but when they get together they become the guardians of fate able to see past, present, and future. I've met them before actually. Really friendly in spite of their work and you would never guess that they are as old as the Emporer if not older." She said.
Sorin was quiet for a while lost in thought while Euryale looked over at her father's book.
"Its not a bad book..." she muttered.
"Last question...for now." Sorin said.
"What is with the seals I've heard about?"
Euryale nodded and grimaced a bit.
"That is harder to explain as it involves a lot of rumors and crazy stories. One of the watchers who is now imprisoned and will suffer immeasurably for creating the system. Azazel taught man how do create many things, but also created the system which led to wholesale slaughter, genetic manipulation, and corruption of mankind which without the intervention of heaven, would have led to the destruction of all mankind. According to records available to the population from the empire, the system we have now is not the first one. It was modified by King Solomon after he put the seals in place to lock out the system from Eden for as long as possible, but it seems the seals are breaking." She recited as if from a book.
"Why did the system get modified and why was it sealed?" Sorin asked.
"History says the first system allowed for too easy growth and encouraged murder of eachother through an experience system. That was removed entirely ans replaced by a knowledge based system and it force reset everyone's path to the beginning. The worst part we believe was the starvation of aether that kept the old monsters from growing again unless they left Eden. The only aether there, was what was required for life to exist and flourish.
The seals were made one way. So people could leave, but never return. According to what we have heard from many who were there after the sealing, there was a time that aether existed, but was in decline so they were able to become very powerful, but after more time went by they claimed that they could no longer full their cores as the system barred harmful pulling from Eden that would destabilize and permanently harm the planet as a whole. Turns out the wisdom of Solomon was not a joke as he saw each method and attempt to find a loop hole to exploit. The only known exploit is having vast knowledge which we all believe the Imperial palace dillutes with misinformation to slow people down and the overall laziness of living so long. People are not in a hurry to get powerful."
Sorin was blown away by all of this. He couldn't figure out for the life of him, how none of this was recorded in history or even known. How is it possible to hide all of this?
"None of this is known on my world at least it's considered fantasy." Sorin said.
"I don't know why or how someone would do that. It suggests some didn't leave, but dropped into the shadows to wait for the seals to break to take control of Eden. For what reason, who knows, it's not like they can get into the garden. Many have tried apparently and every single one died in a horrible fiery death." She replied.
"The garden is still on earth?" Sorin asked in bewilderment.
"Why would they Almighty place a flaming sword to block the way if it wasn't? I've never seen it as I've never been to Eden, but that's what the records say."
Sorin reached out and grabbed the pitcher. He made his cup bigger and filled it. Euryale squinted at him as she saw little was left in.
"Please....take it all." She said sarcastically.
"Nah the last sip is yours." He said with an eyes closed smile.
"Thanks....so generous of you." She replied in a deadpanned voice.
Sorin was about to ask another question when he all of the sudden dumped his drink back in the pitcher quickly, reabsorbed his metal cup, and turned to Euryale.
"I have a million more questions, but it looks like duty calls. I'll reach out when I have something to report. I appreciate the information." Sorin said then dropped into the ground.
After another 15 seconds a voice called out from the front.
"My lady, a messenger from Duke Aegis is here for you." It said as Euryale let out a sigh, but slightly happier that Sorin didn't take all of her wine.
