32 – (Season 1) Creating a new skill

As Jake was familiar with practicing mana domain, he didn’t need to heavy consumption of using a mana domain. The main function he was looking for was just detection. He didn’t need to reduce the opponents stats by pressuring them with mana. Instead of creating heavy mana pressure, he changed the frequency of mana. He tried to get it as calm as possible, almost like a lake.

After 5th attempt, Jake was able to stabilize the mana around him to remain calm and unmoving. This allowed him to setup a 100 ft perimeter around him to detect any mana signatures that is significant. As a scouting tool, this was exactly what he was looking for. Jim and Sera was impressed that Jake was also very skilled in using mana. However, when he moved, the mana detection ring decreased in size to 50 feet. This was still useful to know the range of enemies near him and the mana cost to deploy this skill was zero since he didn’t use his own mana. He used the environment’s mana; however, this did increase the stress on his concentration reducing his ability to perform other complex tasks to some degree. However, this skill was so negligible when he wasn’t moving that he decided to keep it active at all times.

Now that Jake has setup an acceptable detection system better than the old string and bells, Jake sat down to meditate. He visited Jake and Sera within his soul and all of them decided to visit Adam.

They all went into his time ring and saw Adam sitting down meditating. Everyone but Sera was shocked. Jake and Jim knew Adam’s personality. He was a wild and eccentric guy, nothing matched the description of Adam sitting down. Everyone approached Adam with caution and as soon as Adam detected their presence, he stood up and greeted everyone. Everyone thought that he was Jake as he was speaking very peacefully. Jim asked if he was alright and Adam responded that he has never felt better. Adam pointed to a spot in the blank time ring and the ground indicated a small bulge. He said that is the seed of the world tree and it only just started growing very slowly. Next to the tree was the Phoenix Egg that was stuck to the tree like glue. In some ways, they were growing symbiotically and benefitting from each other’s presence. Adam coulnt figure out the exact method but found that reflecting on the growing plant and egg filled in the missing void that he had from his childhood. It was always the Jim, Jake, Adam, Michael and Lucifer sharing the body but every ego was independent of each other and did not really need a brother figure.

Jake and Jim were glad that Adam was able to find peace and tranquility and missed that quirky side of Adam now.

Adam interrupted them and told them that the reason the tree and egg called out to him after he received his reward for beating Hidden Cloud, he received the body reformation technique and there was a strong synergy with the seed of the world tree. Adam knew what path he had to take and he said “ I want to become..”
