10 – (Season 1) Breaking the Clone technique

Jim couldn't believe what he was seeing as he looked at the system notification screen. He never thought that finding the first step would be right in front of him. He started reading the system notification.

system notification: you are the first human being to have unlocked the brain junction. Mana is no longer restricted to 50% and 100% will be allowed to be transferred from the brain to the nervous system.

At first glance Jim didn't know if this would be an improvement as he couldn't tell whether there was a big difference before and after the skill notification. Little did he know that the first step that he just took would be one of the largest steps to uncovering a greater strength.

Jim wanted to try using his ninja skills in practice. He summoned a clone of himself and analyzed the stats. Clones normally have 50% of the main players stats; however, Jim thought he saw an error. The player stats showed 100% is shared with the clone. Jim rubbed his eyes together and checked again, however, it still showed 100%. This must be one of the effects from unlocking the brain junction. Jim couldn't know for sure as the game did not mention this as an effect from unlocking the brain junction. Instead of pondering more theories, he wanted to test out the capabilities of the clone. In the future, he had fairly good control of his clones; however, they were limited to basic movements and used more for deception than attacking as moving the clones required so much concentration that he would need to stop what he was doing on the main body to control the clone.

While having 100% is like having an exact clone of yourself, the problem would still lie in control. JIm wondered why he should control the clone when he has different personalities that could do a better job. Instead to trying to do two things at once, why not have another personality control it.

Jim didn’t think this would work but wanted to give this a try. Adam volunteered and tried to enter the consciousness of a clone. After a few seconds, the clone did not move. As expected, the game wouldn't be this generous. As soon as Jim was about to cancel the clone, it suddenly turned around. Adam wanted to have some fun with Jim and pretended that the mind transfer to the clone failed. Jim was curious if the clone could switch personalities again. He asked for for Jake to swap in. After a second, Jake greeted Jim and said “it is good to see you Amithaba”

Jake had a religious personality and strongly believed in Buddhist lifestyle. One of his favorite things to do was meditate. As soon as he greeted Jim, Jake sat down and started praying with both of his hands pressed together.

Jake started chanting “Om Mani Padme Hum” which is the mantra of compassion.

As soon as Jake started chanting, Jim could feel a warm sensation envelope him. He instantly knew that this was no ordinary feeling and checked his stats. Jim was pleasantly surprised as this was a buff that increased healing by 20% and attack damage by 20%. This was rare in champion as the early seasons did not have any buffing classes aside from healers. While they can heal and buff, healing was their main strength and buffs were subpar in comparison as they only boosted 5-10% attack damage. Only a few players ever received a monk class and most of them played as a physical monk as only a few chosen ones ever received the opportunity to become a Buddhist subclass.

Jim suddenly had a flash of inspiration and asked him to teach him the basic mantra of what he was just chanting.

Jake was thrilled to teach some basic mantras to Jim. As Jim sat down across from Jake, they started chanting in unison “Om Mani Padme Hum”. Instantly the healing and attack damage rose to 30%. Jim was ecstatic to find that having the main body and clone chanting the mantra would increase the buffs further. If healers found this out, they might kill me out of jealously. As only one buff from any class can be active at one time, Jim could easily fill the role of a healer and buffer allowing team compositions to be composed of an aggressive attack team.

However, as soon as his thought process interrupted his chanting, Jim was no longer in sync with Jake and the buff fell down 25%. Jim thought this was too good to be true and identified the problem instantly. If he is not 100% in sync with Jake, the buff will not be as strong as it could be. That means if even a rock hits one of them, their buff synergy will be reduced for a moment. Jim took this into consideration, however, he still considered this one of his trump cards for team raids. Out of curiosity he asked Michael and Lucifer to swap into the clone before the 3 minute duration of the clone ran out. However, as soon as Lucifer swapped in, the clone exploded. Jim was puzzled before he thought about Lucifer's talent. Lucifer has a darkness affinity. Darkness and Light happens to be higher elemental affinities. Without having strong offerings, you cannot normally bring dark or light beings into this dimension. Even skills that focused around light or darkness required rare artifacts to use them. Jim summoned another clone and asked Michael to swap in and the same thing happened. The cloned exploded immediately.

Jim noticed something strange and found out that when Michael's clone exploded, the cooldown of the clone was reset. This was interesting as the cooldown of the clone was for 5 minutes while the duration of the clone was 3 minutes. If he used this correctly, Jim could use the clone skill infinitely. This created a lot of possibilities. After he tried practicing his clone skills two more times with no cooldown periods a system notification rang out.

System notification: You will be logged off in 5 minutes.

Jim decided to practice for 5 more minutes before logging off.
