09 – (Season 1) Slime training

After receiving the ninja class, Jim received a notification.

Congratulations on choosing the ninja subclass. While the road of a ninja is challenging, it is rewarding with its deceptive playstyle and ninja mechanics.

You have unlocked the following talents.

Clone: based on the users preference a clone will be made for 3 minutes. The more clones you have active, the mana usage will be adjusted accordingly.

Substitution Jutsu: Switch place with an object within 1000 meters of the player. Objects in motion will retain the momentum it switches with. Cooldown: 5 seconds

Hidden Perception: If you dont move for 5 seconds, your next attack will increase by 50%.

There are no ninja active skills which is part of the reason why the ninja class was not popular. Players wanted the easy way to play the game. Characters that have auto lock or attack tracking mechanics were popular as the player would only have to activate the skill and it will automatically lock in a target. As the level of the skill went up, they normally lacked tracking mechanics and the player would eventually have to aim their skills.

Due to the higher learning curve, many players chose to restart their class if they chose ninja. However, having played the ninja class, Jim learned many hidden tricks that could elevate the damage and ingenuity of the class. For example, the clone jutsu looks clumsy at first but with enough experience you can maneuver the body and create devastating combo attacks.

Players additionally looked down at the substiution jutsu thinking it only as an escape tool. After player this class for many years, substitution has more unique uses in fights than one would think.

Arriving at the slime kingdom, you can tell that this is the home of slimes. Slime monsters vary in size from baseballs to basketballs. Slimes actually dont provide any exp when killed and its attack does not damage the player. Many people didnt bother with slimes as they didnt provide any benefit for the player. It took about 5 years in the future when a player accidently discovered a hidden talent from the slimes.

Jim walked up to a group of slime and sat down. Slimes slowly started climbing his body and started attacking, however, they did no damage to Jim. Supposedly, if Jim did not attack the slimes and just let the slimes attack him for 3 hours, he should receive a talent.

While Jim was sitting down, he noticed that the slimes were transclucent to the point where he could see the mana structure within the slimes. He was mesmerized that slimes sometimes split their bodies and would always reform. He kept focusing on how they reform and noticed that their bodies had no nodes for mana points.

In the player's bodies, there are 9 junctions or blockages that regulate mana. Each junction prevented too much mana from flowing from one organ to another. Slimes did not have any junctions and each mana node was connected to another without any blockages.

Jim kept watching and tried to understand why the player bodies junctions only allowed 2 percent of the mana from flowing at all times. He understood that without the blockage, his mana pathway could become severely imbalanced and would need precise control from damaging his own mana. When Jim was pondering the mysteries of his mana body a system notification rang.

System notific ation: You have noticed the imperfections in your body for mana pathways which are blocked by junctions. You are the first human player to identify the problem. Would you like to accept the unique quest: Unlock your mana body.

“Heavens, an unique quest. I have never seen an this level of quest in my life. Because of the sensitive nature of this information, no player ever mentioned receiving uniq quests in his past. They were all kept private or used to strengthen their guilds.”

The rarity followed this order.

Gold

Unique

Epic

Legendary

No one ever mentioned a legendary quest nor has it been confirmed. A gold quest was the highest quest that was publicly disclosed in the future. I must accept this quest.

Unlocking your Mana body

You are the first human to identify flaws in your body. Find clues to unlocking the 9 junctions in your mana body to attain greater control over your body. Mana junctions unlocked 0/9.

As soon as he accepted the quest, Jim felt ecstatic of receiving a unique quest but also brought more questions to his mind. The quest specifically mentioned him as the first human which could mean that other races have already received this quest.

“I guess I have to no time to slouch”

After 3 hours passed Jim received a notification

System Notification: you have learned the slime talent.

Slime Talent: Slimes have a unique body structure that allows it to split a part of its body while still regaining consciousness allowing it to merge back to the original body. The neural pathways in its brain is constructed to allow mana to flow freely from its brain to its nervous system. Mana can move freely from the brain to your nervous system.
