12 – (season 1) Sparring against teammates

As the time counted down to zero, Link rushed towards Sera hoping to get in the first strike and take advantage of the distance created by the spear. As Link slammed the spear down Jim retreated swiftly allowing the spear tip to slam into the ground. Link was setting a trap as he had faced many opponents who tried to rush him after the initial swing missed. Sera could easily tell that Link was planning on following the attack by striking the spear up while using the ground as a spring to create tensile strength and increase the damage of the strike.

Jim committed to a half dash followed by a quick backstep when Link started his motion to swing upward. Once the spear was raised up, Jim dashed again towards Link and activated his mana blade to decapitate Link.

Winner: Sera.

All three spectators were shocked to see Link lose in less than 10 seconds. Everyone thought this was a fluke as the damage needed to kill a level 15 player would need to be significantly greater than what a level 10 player can produce. Everyone thought they would get to see a show but they received shock instead.

As Link landed out side of the arena, he thanked Sera for the learning opportunity as he taught him to never stop attacking even if you think you will be victorious.

Butter asked how he was able to slice through bone and flesh in a swoop.

“Its a trade secret. If your coming up next, I suggest all three of you come up together”

This was not meant to be a taunt, but in order to have a meaningful spar, Jim believed that only with three people that he would feel any danger.

Blue Moon declined and said she will go after Butter and Carrot.

They quickly jumped up to the stage and the countdown started for the next match.

As soon as the battle started, Carrot stepped back while Butter guarded in front of her with a shield.

Carrot started chanting a spell for a fireball.

Jim could easily see where the mana was gathering.

She was a sly one as she purposely lowered the power of the fireball to create two fireballs instead of one. A fireball was being formed in front of here and one fireball was forming above Jim's head.

Jim saw through this tactic and activated his mana blade and sliced through the mana above his head before a fireball could be formed and side stepped the fireball coming from the front.

Everyone was atonished thinking it must be a fluke. How can a swordsman locate a spell before completion and destroy it. Nobody had a clue what Jim just performed.

Carrot believing this was a fluke started chanting for another fireball.

Instead of waiting this time, Jim grabbed a stick and through it at tank. He purposely did not inject mana into it or embue it with mana from the air to make the attack look harmless.

The tank did not feel any danger and chose to ignore the stick. The stick landed on the floor in between the mage and the tank. Jim activated his substitution jutsu (sub jutsu will be used in the future) to switch places between the stick and him self.

Carrot and Butter were caught offguard creating a lag in their responses. Jim took this opportunity to slice both necks in a spinning motion defeating both opponents in one strike.

This time, everyone was in shock as they thought Sera was just a swordsman class.

“How did you do that” all of the team members asked.

Jim responded “Just because I have a sword does not mean I have the swordsman class. My class is actual the ninja class”

Everyone's excitement turned sour in less than one second. Videos of the ninja class came out in the forums. Every single video showcased the difficulty of the class. As expected, everyone complained about the difficulty of controlling a clone. Even high skilled players gave up as they could barely make their clone walk in a straight line let alone swing a sword. No videos complimented the sub jutsu as many players though of this as an escape mechanism and not an attack mechanism. Even watching Sera, Blue Moon's team still found respect and motivation to surpass Sera. Most of all everyone thought that Sera is a genius that would probably only appear once in a blue moon.

While everyone was digesting the Butter and Carrot's battle, Blue moon stepped up to the arena.

“I look forward to the battle” Blue moon said in a calm manner.

“Likewise” Sera replied.

As soon as the countdown started, everyone was surprised by what happened next.

Neither player moved an inch, with both staring at each other.

Blue Moon's teammates wondered why they kept their distance.

Jim was cautiously observing Blue Moon. His six sense kept staring at Blue Moon, like something was imbalanced. Eventually, he saw the mana flow of Blue Moon's body. Blue Moon's mana pathway was abnormally flowing to her head; however, the area around her eyes were devoid of mana.

Jim threw out a random comment “Are you by chance blind Blue Moon?”

Everyone was confused to Sera's question.

“How could our team leader be blind” Carrot and Butter knew Blue Moon the longest and nothing indicated that she was blind.

Puzzled by the response, Blue Moon responded “How did you know I was Blind”
