23 – (Season 1) Bullshit Rewards

As Jim looked at the rewards he received, he thought there was an error. He wasn’t sure why there were three rewards given to him. Could it be because he fought with Adam and Jake, the system counted them as players on the winning side. This was the most fraudulent thing he has ever seen.

Item Description: A Seed from the world tree Yggdrasil. This item does not exist in any of the current universes. A seed from the world tree requires a minimum of 100 years to mature in a sapling. Growing the tree will bring you many benefits, however, it will take tremendous resources. Yggdrasil requests that you grow this tree and visit the main tree.

Jim accepted the proposal. He noticed that this wasn’t a quest and more of an informal request. As soon as he accepted the time ring within his soul reacted. Sera has requested to meet you within your soul do you accept?

Jim was puzzled as this was the first time the time ring has reacted since coming to this timeline. He accepted and was brought to a blank room. Standing there was woman.

Sera has introduced herself as the goddess of space and time. Jim had hundreds of questions running through his mind. Sera understood as meeting a higher entity would raise lots of questions. Before Jim could ask any questions, Sera told her story.

She started out as a normal player that had worked her way through fortuitous encounters to her position as the goddess of space and time. Each God or Goddess can exist at one moment. If one does not exist anymore, a new God or Goddess can be chosen or their apostle can choose to uphold this responsibility. Sera Chose this responsibility as the previous God of Time perished. Sera did not know why her master disappeared but had some idea. Every couple of years, a universe would be invaded by outside monsters different from the monsters living in the current environments. Monsters in the current environment are tied to the universe and coexist with its environment. The invading monsters does not share this concept and consume the galaxy. Sera was fighting against the invading monsters and met her end fighting one of the pack leaders with fellow gods. Before she perished, her natural ability allowed her to send her 9 artifacts to different periods of time where it would choose the right owner. Jim received the time ring from Sera.

Jim did not know how to comprehend this. As far as he knew, he thought he was just lucky in finding an amazing item 10 years in the future. Sera asked him if he’s interested in taking up the same responsibility her master gave her.

Jim did not see any downside to taking up this responsibility. He agreed and took up the responsibility. Sera was glad to see her items chose the right owner. When she was ready to bestow upon her goddess legacy, she was surprised that she couldn’t transfer her abilities to Jim.

Sera and Jim were both dumbstruck. They didn’t believe there was a class above a god or goddess. Sera went deep into thought and decided that her item definitely chose the right owner. Sera made a different proposal from the original offer that she made. While keeping the promise to fight the outside invaders, she also requested to cultivate her soul to be a part of Jim’s. She said this is not normally possible but you have obtained a seed of the world tree. Sera could feel a connection between her soul and Jim’s Soul through the seed of a world tree. Jim didn’t know much about the hidden class and thought it would be a good idea to have someone who has reached the peak of power. He agreed.

He was surprised that there was a limit. As soon as Sera linked her soul to Jim, she could share her thoughts without speaking. She was surprised that there were 5 souls within Jim. All of the souls introduced themselves as Jake, Adam, Lucifer and Michael. While Lucifer and Michael were not able to manifest in this universe Adam and Jake were able to manifest. As they got to know each other, Sera explained how her time ring worked. Whoever is wearing the time ring, time will move much faster within the ring. The ring works on the body and soul.1day outside the ring would be equivalent to 100 days within the time ring. There is no space limitation within the ring and there is a separate partition in the ring to keep time equal to the time outside the ring if they want to bring perishable items. Sera suggested that Jim should place the seed of the world tree within the time ring so that instead of waiting 100 years for the tree to grow to a sapling, it would only take 1 year. Jim like the idea and immediately put the seed of the world tree in the time ring. Additionally, as Jim told her his adventures so far, she was shocked that Jim has egg of a blue phoenix. Sera was knowledgeable about phoenixes but has never heard of a blue phoenix. She suggested that he put the egg in the time ring as well to speed up the incubation process. He never though of this and placed the egg in immediately in the time ring. She suggested to search for the remaining 8 artifacts. Meanwhile, everyone decided to look at the rewards they received.
