15 – (season 1) Birth of a legend

System Notification: You have unlocked the skin junction. 3/9 junctions unlocked. You have found the entry way for mana to enter your body. Mana absorption speed has increased.

Again, the system gave the minimum amount of information possible. It wanted the player to develop their own interpretation of skills. This didn’t discourage Jim at all as he quite enjoyed the possibilities of creating new ideas. As soon they the three of them realized that they could see and manipulate the mana entering their body they thought of a new plan to maximize their training time. They noticed that mana was seeping into their muscles as they used their muscles for training. All three tried to contract and stretch their muscles by moving the mana in the muscle.

This idea worked great but there was a problem with this method. Each personality knew their own breaking point and would stop training their muscles before they could be completely fatigued. Therefore, they decided to train each others muscles, since all three personalities shared the main body each personality can control the mana in the muscle. Everyone decided to control the personality to their right. This proved to be a much more challenge as each personality pushed as hard as they could and did not know when they would stop.

As Jim used the public training rooms, sound was not insulated but since he opted to use privacy training mode, no one could see what was happening in the training room. This is what most players used in the beginning stages of champion since resources were scarce.

As time went on people slowly started gathering around the practice room. You could hear strange noises coming from the room.

Jake: Stop pulling, stop pulling, I can’t take it anymore.

Adam: You bastard did the same thing to me. Have a taste of your own medicine.

Jim: If you guys don’t take it seriously, I will stretch your muscle so hard, you wont be walking for days.

The crowd was mixed. Some players were laughing, some players felt disgusted. Random players started recording. Even though they couldn’t see anything, they recorded all the sounds for hours and posted on the forums.

After another two hours, Jim released the clones and all of his muscles were sore. They were so sore that he couldn’t walk out of the room and had to crawl out of the room using his arms. He wasn’t sure why there was a crowd outside his practice room. He didn’t think much of it and logged off to take a break.

Jim decided to take a quick break and browsed the forums. He was scrolling though trending forums and found his username posted on the first page of posts.

The posts didn’t end until the 3rd page. Out of curiosity, Jim clicked on the link with the most comments “Should we report this user for abuse”

User 1: I cant believe a human being could be so evil and vile.

User 2: I bet he does that to everyone he knows.

User 3: Offering 100 USD dollars for live footage.

Jim turned red immediately while both of his egos were laughing their heads off in his mind.

Adam: That was the funniest shit I watched in a while.

Jake: Amithaba, you need some help Jim. Maybe I can offer you some prayers, but you will have to be 10 feet away from me amithaba.

Jim was furious that everyone was making accusations. Some fans donated money to his account and some sent death threats and promises to call the police and developers to ban him.

After calming down, Jim decided to log back on and go to the night market. He made sure to wear a cloak to hide his username.

Blue Moon sent a few messages while Jim was offline. She wanted to make sure that everything was alright and those videos were false accusations. Jim assured her that this was just strength training.

Blue Moon wasn’t sure how she felt about this and hoped that her new teammate is not a crazy person.

Jim went to the night market to look for chickens. Before he went, he went to the online game store and purchased a season mask that hid the identity of the player until the end of the season.

As Jim roamed the street market he was unable to find a blue chicken. There were plenty of red and orange chickens.

He asked the vendors: Have you ever seen a blue chicken?

All the vendors said no. Some players were vendors and they replied “Yeah, once in a blue moon”. After failing to find a blue chicken Jim went around the market looking at weapons. His current weapon was just a regular iron sword. He needed weapons for his alter egos. As he roamed the streets, nothing caught his eye. All of a sudden Adam tells Jim to stop and turn around. Jim turned around and saw nothing that caught his eye. The vendor behind him was selling a rusty old swords, some herbs and a couple of animal bones. Adam kept staring at one of the femur bones, it looked like the bone of a large animal. The bone’s size was close to the size of his actual leg. Adam told Jim to buy this bone if possible.

Jim inquired why he should buy this bone. Adam couldn’t explain it but he was a connection with that bone. Jim didn’t want to spend money on a useless bone, but Adam was very adamant that he buy this. Since he was there he haggled with the man to sell him prayer beads and give him the bone for free. The vendor didn’t really care about the bone and agreed if Jim bought the prayer bead he would give the bone for free.

This way Jim bought weapons for both Jake and Adam. After buying weapons, Jim logged off and went straight to sleep as he was tired.
