Chapter 78. Curse of the Prime Guardians

Chapter 78. Curse of the Prime Guardians

"You cursed us when you made us the Prime Guardians, Doctor Strange." Abnegazar repeated the accusations.

"Don't you think you should elaborate a little further?" Doctor Strange whispered a blatant remark.

Abnegazar's tears were falling down his grotesque representation of cheeks, thanks to the essence of Strange's magic that surrounded him, allowing to escape the voidness of space.

Strange was still confused, much like anyone else would be when they saw a feared member of the Demons Three broke down in tears before them.

That was an even more terrifying sight that surpassed Strange's current circumstance. He was still absorbing the energy of the Sanctums within himself, hoping that he would contain it inside of him and destroy the OmniSight Aegis.

He knew that what had been done would not be easily reversible suppose something bad happened to him, but he counted on people to go back to their old sane ways.

Still, he awaited Abnegazar's explanation as the demon tried it's hardest to compose itself.

"Take your time." Doctor Strange said, appreciating the distraction from the seering pain in his body.

Interestingly enough, the energy beam looked perfect and smooth as no energy scattering away, not even a little. It was as if it was respecting the vacuum nature of space, attracting itself to each other like ordinary matter.

"It all started not long after you had disappeared." The Prime Guardian started narrating, but still not composed enough. It was as if he was experiencing a sadness lasting him a lifetime.

"The OmniSight Aegis took control of the entire world using people's thoughts and controlling their actions." Abnegazar continued. "But that didn't affect all the sorcerers who were gathered inside the Sanctums at the time, due to the runes erecting a barrier to protect each Power House.

"But somehow, the OmniSight Aegis discovered this and attempted to break into the Sanctums from the inside inorder to capture their minds for it's goals." Abnegazar continued the narration while still amid sobs. "A fight broke within the Sanctums against the energy mass, but the OmniSight Aegis was just too powerful and it outmatched everyone, taking over their minds."

"This occured simultaneously in all the three Sanctums, but the runes into the Sanctums still remained unscathed from the short battles." Abnegazar added.

"However, not all minds were captured by the OmniSight Aegis, but that only raised curiosity for it." Abnegazar said, but then stopped as if it was the first time he was seeing Doctor Strange in his energy-absorbing situation.

He had absorbed so much energy now that his body was glowing with radiant light the pierced through his skin and into the open. His expression of suppressing the energy inside of him mad him look like he was experiencing the most agonizing pain in the world.

"How inconsiderate of me!" Abnegazar cried out and burst into a sea of more tears.

Seriously, what was going on with him.

Strange was keeping it together all he can. He was beginning to feel like someone who has drunk tonnes of litters of water and couldn't take in anymore.

Honestly, he was beginning to worry about his ability to contain it anymore, but he knew that he was a vessel for someone who could hold in a lot of power, and he kept going on.

"Aaaaaaa..." He screamed as he started absorbing even more energy in himself.

"Continue..!!!" He screamed to Abnegazar to get to the point as to why he was this emotion.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The increase rate of flux in the energy beams seamed to sobber up Abnegazar for a bit, and in his sane moment, he summarized things.

"The OmniSight Aegis discovered that it couldn't take control of our minds, possibly because we lack a soul." Abnegazar said. "And ever since then, it's been trying to weave one into us with magic, having realized that we can't leave the Sanctum as per your decree."

"My breakdown is because of the much experimentation happening to me, and I can't fight back, because I'm meant to protect the OmniSight Aegis." Abnegazar said.

"You must free me and my brothers, Strange!" The Prime Guardian said, hoping that the screaming sorcerer had had every word he had said.

But Strange was struggling to maintain his structural integrity as the energy tried to tear him apart. Nevertheless, he had heard of Abnegazar's short version of the story

"I'm only here because of the energy you are channeling." Abnegazar said. "But if you don't do something..."

Before he finished statement, a heavy, commanding voice resounded in the energy beams Strange had been absorbing.

"No!" The voice echoed through the flow before the radius of the beam started becoming smaller. "You are ruining the Utopia!"

Strange noticed the shortening radius and starter to retaliate by absorbing the energy faster, hence more dangerously. He could explode instantly or create an entire planet made out of magic if he couldn't contain it.

But letting the OmniSight Aegis continue this much chaos was a worse scenario. It had grown really powerful from constantly feeding magic through the Earth's ley lines.

A pull and push effect started within the flux of energy, causing resistance within the once smooth flow of powerful energy. Both ends were powerful, but neither of them would accept defeat in this tug-of-war.

But the powerful pull and push of energy couldn't last for long on such a huge amount of energy, and it caused a tear within the beams. The energy beams originating from the Sanctums tore a part, letting energy to scatter about space at a lightning fast speed, much like an explosion.

The explosion glimmered in space, wowing all the onlookers and alerting theirs senses as the connection to Strange severed.

His tensed muscles relaxed and his body got pulled forward a bit by the sudden disruption of energy flow. He had absorbed so much energy inside of him that his body felt like it was burning up.

The Prime Guardian suddenly got strong-pulled with the retracting beam of energy leading to his New York Sanctum, as he couldn't exist far from it. He was a prisoner of the OmniSight Aegis.

The echo that was still trapped in the energy beam resounded in the ears of all those who had been attracted to Utopia-616 as a strong light from the explosion engulfed all of them in a single wave.

The echo reached their ears, conducting through the solid exteriors of their crafts, or the bodies of those who were capable of standing the vacuum of space.

"You're ruining Utopia-616." The echo whispered into their hearing mechanisms as they digested the message.

Most who had gathered to observe the glamor and beauty of Utopia-616 he been initially enemies, but something about being close to this place had given them peace and harmony like they had never felt before.

And now someone was trying to destroy it?!!

Doctor Strange had been so worried about the potential of the OmniSight Aegis such that he had dismissed of the crowd in space, focusing all his attention to undoing this future. But now, he became their target.

But he still didn't have the time to deal with them as a nauseating sensation of exploding cruised through his entire body. He used the Cloak of Levitation and started to move further from the Earth. He didn't want to destroy the world, supposing he suddenly exploded.

But the space onlookers weren't about to let the enemy of Utopia-616 get away after trying to destroy it. Those who had space crafts turned them to chase after him and those who could hover rushed to block his path.

In an instant, in the dark space where nothing but rocks existed, Strange found himself surrounded by an angry mob united by the love of Utopia-616.

Strange stopped soaring as they started to close in on him, ready to attack and banish him from existence.

His body still illuminated with stray energies that tried to escape through his skin into the open. His head banged as if being hit by the largest hammer in the world, threatening to collapse in itself.

But even with all that, he still hadn't managed to defeat the OmniSight Aegis, with the connection having been cut off. His attempt had become both a failure and liability, because he couldn't go back to Earth.

And now there was this group from God Knows Where! Attempting to crash him to bits. He didn't intend to exist in the future in the first place, but now he knew what was in store if his plan didn't work out in the present.

He would not only be fighting against Lex Luthor, but also finding a way to stop the OmniSight Aegis.

With that, he decided to use the energy bubbling inside of him, and the Eye of Agamotto to return back to the present, and quickly find a way to shut down the Sanctums.

His cheeks were fat with magic, and so was his entire body. He channeled it all into the Time Stone before the mob in space got close enough to whack him.

A blinding light engulfed him and he drifted forcibly from the flow of time once again, before being pulled back in into his present.
