Chapter 32. Advanced Astral Projection

Still in the astral form, I finally decided to approach the mirror.

At first glance, the reflection on the surface of the mirror showed nothing, but then I focused my desire to see my subconscious.

I saw a reflection of myself.

"I know about the scrolls." I started. "But something is off. The One Above All is from a multiverse where you exist as the Sorcerer Supreme, yet, his scrolls are what I'm meant to master in this multiverse. Same case with the Presence."

My reflection stared back looking as if deep in thought and then said. "I see that you have finally attuned yourself to this multiverse. Your powers have been amplified beyond my normal because you're channeling energy from closer dimensions. That makes you ready to master the scrolls."

"The scrolls are ancient and date back to creation, when only powerful beings existed. According to the Genesis Manuscripts, some of these beings wanted to control the whole of existence, and become the master above everyone; the One." My subconscious explained.

He continued. "However, these powerful entities couldn't come to an agreement as to whom would become the One. As such, they split there seven most powerful abilities and placed them across other multiverses, in resolve that one day, someone worthy enough would be born and master these scrolls, and become the One."

"But, to become the One, you have to become worthy enough to become the Prime Sorcerer." He added. "The Prime Sorcerer is the Master of the Crossover between only two multiverses. Your actions as the master of the Crossover will determine if you're worthy enough to become the One."

"As the Prime Sorcerer, you've been gifted with immense power. You are more powerful than an average sorcerer, and you must exert caution when you exercise your power." My subconscious continued. "Your actions against Thanos worry me as to what you could become, but now that you can already channel from closer dimensions, I cannot deny your destiny."

"So, I get stronger when I channel from closer dimensions." I thought to myself.

"Yes." The subsconscios replied.

"How do I master this first scroll?" I asked.

"You could try, but you can't." He replied.

"Why?" I asked.

"You first have to become the supreme sorcerer of this world." He replied.

"Is that a general rule?" I asked.

"It's the only rule that allows the scroll to trust you and gift it's power to you, because it has seen your good intentions." He replied.

"I guess I have to protect against mystical threats in DC and become the sorcerer supreme." I thought to myself, but in my mind, some other thought was forming. I had spotted a loophole.

The reason for becoming a sorcerer supreme was so that the mirror could trust me. I had already achieved that feat, and I believed that I could somehow use that to my advantage.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

My reflection seemed to sense the wheels turning in my head, and it watched me with a knowing gaze. "You're thinking about something," it stated.

"Yes," I replied slowly, "I'm thinking about how to expedite this process, how to make the mirror trust me sooner, and how to gain the power of the axiom of dimensions more swiftly."

I looked at the mirror and opened the floodgates of my experiences and intentions to it, in a long continuous stream of memories.

"Do you think that this will work?" I asked my subconscious as I continued.

"It's a possibility." It replied. "The scroll of dimensions could allow it's master to travel not only across different dimensions, but also dimensions in time. That could be the case for this mirror, and hopefully it will validate the truth of those memories."

I observed as my most prized memory left my mind and joined the flow as a glowing orb. It was my ultimate sacrifice against Dormammu, and the countless times I had died in his hands.

As this last memory poured into the mirror, there was a moment of silence, and my reflection vanished. The mirror then dulled, it's ethereal light fading.

Then, in an instant, it's reflective surface seemed to shimmer with an ethereal light, and for a heartbeat, it felt like time itself stood still. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, the mirror activated.

The mirror's surface rippled and twisted, like a pool of liquid mercury. It began to project images and scenes that were both familiar and otherworldly.

I watched in awe as it displayed moments from my life, from the very first time I had discovered the mystics to the battles I had fought.

The image of my ultimate sacrifice against Dormammu played out before me, and I could feel the intensity of that moment all over again.

The mirror was not just showing these memories; it was reliving them, experiencing the emotions and power that were intertwined with each one.

The mirror's surface began to shift and transform, taking on a myriad of golden patterns and symbols. It was as though the mirror was rewriting its own reality, reconfiguring itself to align with the knowledge and power I sought to obtain.

The mirror's surface glowed brighter and brighter, casting a radiant light that filled the astral realm around us.

The mirror's radiant light enveloped me and I felt myself being drawn into its ethereal depths. It was as if I was being pulled into a vortex of knowledge and power, hurtling through dimensions and time itself.

I passed through realms and realities that were beyond my wildest imagination. I witnessed civilizations rise and fall, cosmic battles that shook the fabric of existence, and the birth of stars and galaxies. It was a surreal journey through the very essence of the multiverse.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I arrived in a place unlike any other. I found myself hovering above a mystical kingdom, bathed in the eerie glow of magical energies.

"The Kingdom of Kor," A voice that had been with me since being pulled into the mirror narrated.

I had heard about this place.

From my vantage point in my astral form, I observed the unfolding events below. Two powerful sorcerers were locked in a fierce battle amidst the arcane architecture of the kingdom.

The Prime Wizard, a figure of immense mystical might, faced off against Felix Faust, an evil sorcerer with dark ambitions.

The Prime Wizard's robes billowed with an otherworldly aura, and his staff crackled with potent energy. He was a guardian of the kingdom, defending it against the likes of Felix Faust, who sought the Flame of Life.

Felix Faust, on the other hand, was a master of dark magic, hellbent on becoming more powerful.

The battle between these two sorcerers was a spectacle of mystical prowess. Beams of energy clashed in mid-air, creating dazzling displays of light and sound.

I knew the story of how Felix Faust came to become a constant menace of the Justice League, and now I watched this story unfold before me.

The Prime Wizard, determined to protect the Flame of Life, channeled its power with an unparalleled mastery.

The Flame, a source of immense life force, responded to his call. Streams of golden energy surged from the ancient artifact, wrapping around him like a radiant shroud. His eyes blazed with an ethereal light as he harnessed this extraordinary force.

Felix Faust redoubled his dark incantations. His spells grew more sinister and chaotic, manifesting as shadowy tendrils that attempted to snuff out the brilliance of the Flame.

But the Flame of Life resisted, shining even brighter, as if determined to protect itself from falling into the hands of malevolence.

The battle reached its climax as the Prime Wizard unleashed a wave of pure life force, a torrent of energy that surged toward Felix Faust with unstoppable power.

The evil sorcerer tried to erect a dark shield to defend himself, but the radiant energy of the Flame overwhelmed his defenses.

In a blinding flash of light, the power of the Flame of Life enveloped Felix Faust, and his form began to disintegrate.

He let out a terrible scream, a chilling cry of defeat and despair, as he was banished into another dimension, a realm far from the Kingdom of Kor.

The Prime Wizard, victorious but weary, slowly descended to the ground, the radiant aura of the Flame of Life dissipating around him.

As I watched this extraordinary display of mystical mastery and witnessed the incredible power of the Flame of Life, it became clear that this was the knowledge and strength I sought to obtain.

All along, the mirror was showing me it's past forms across time, and how it had been used before.

It then catapulted me back to where we had started, and before me was no longer a mirror, but a scroll levitating and glowing with immense power.

I reached out to grab it, but on contact with it, my astral form returned back to my physical body abruptly, where Zatanna was still guiding me.

The scroll remained in the astral plane.
