We were back at the Greenpoint Sanctum. But this time it was just me and Zatanna.
The Justice League had gone back to the Watch Tower before they prepared to go and gather information from their various sources.
Back in the Sanctum, one could feel the energy from the barrier surrounding the whole of Greenpoint.
As we stepped out through the portal, my mind had some lingering questions that I needed answered. The Scrolls of OAA and the Axiom of Dimensions: was it the mirror in the Sanctum?
I needed direct answers and I knew who had the capacity to answer them.
We walked directly into the Mystic Focus.
"I think my father can help." Zatara finally broke the silence. "Doctor Fate talked about ancient magic, and my father might be able to help, considering his expertise in ancient magic."
Giovanni Zatara, the man whose hat I had just used to connect myself to this realm, was a renowned magician. He was not only a master of the arcane arts but also the father of Zatanna.
He possessed a deep understanding of ancient magic and had a reputation for his expertise in handling mystical artifacts and unraveling magical mysteries.
I wondered how he would take the news that I had altered his famous shrinking hat. The hat was a legendary artifact crafted by Giovanni Zatara himself, a marvel of magic.
It possessed the remarkable ability to alter the size of objects and people. When worn and activated with the right incantation, the hat could shrink down almost anything, from everyday items to living beings, to a miniature scale.
Conversely, it could also reverse this process, restoring shrunken objects or individuals to their original size.
The magical hat had been a cornerstone of Giovanni Zatara's repertoire, used in countless acts of illusion and, on occasion, for more practical purposes.
Its power to manipulate size made it a valuable tool in various magical endeavors, and its unique abilities had proven indispensable on many occasions.
It was, without a doubt, a cherished possession of the Zatara family, and its alterations would undoubtedly be met with great interest and, perhaps, some surprise.
"There is something I have been meaning to ask you." I said. "It's about the mirror in one of the rooms of this Sanctum. I have seen it and felt it's magic."
"Don't blame for wanting to play around with how I look." Zatanna said defensively. "Besides, what were you doing in my room? I thought I warned you about sneaking in the night."
"No. I haven't been to your room." I said more defensively, hoping that I wouldn't get to hear about the reflection-altering mirror. "I'm talking about the mirror in the room directly below the Mystic Focus."
"Oh, that room? I've felt a great magic presence from that particular room, but it's remained empty for ages. It's magic is what amplifies the magic in the Mystic Focus, and the whole sanctum." Zatanna explained. "I have no recollection of seeing a mirror there, but I never bothered about that room. Some mysteries aren't meant to be solved."

"I see." I said thinking about what Zatanna had just said.
A thought was building up in my mind like an extensive mind map. Doctor Fate had talked about me coming across the Axiom of Dimensions, and all my thoughts pointed to the mirror.
I believed in destiny more than anyone else, and coming across that mirror couldn't have been just a coincidence. Besides, I was apparently the first one who had seen it, and interacted with it.
But how did it come to be in this particular place and why? Someone with an incredible amount of power must have placed it here.
Could it be the One-Above-All? But that would imply a Crossover. The existence of two super-powerful beings would probably cause the destruction of the whole multiverse. That couldn't be it.
Could it be their seconds (kinda)? The Living Tribunal or the Spectre? Could it be them?
This was a mystery I was meant to unravel. That was destiny at work.
The next thing that bothered me was about mastering the scroll. I hadn't seen a scroll next to the mirror when I first saw it.
Could it be imbued into the mirror somehow? How was I meant to master it?
There were a lot of questions that I needed answered. Maybe my subconscious could help; even explain about the discrepancy in the Scroll of the Presence and the Scrolls of OAA.
"It could be the first Scroll that Doctor Fate was talking about. The Axiom of Dimensions." I told Zatanna.
"Let's go check it out then." Zatanna suggested, and we left the Mystic Focus for the chamber below.
For a moment, I thought I had lost my mind, once we were in the room. The mirror was nowhere in sight!
"Are you sure you saw something in here?" Zatanna asked.
"Yes. It's here. I can feel it's presence and I know where it is."
I focused my will and in an instant, my astral form left my body. And, there it was, the Axiom of Dimensions. But how could it exist in the astral plane, even given it's name?
However, I understood why I could see my subconscious in it's reflection. It could project the dimensions within me. That was a fascinating relic I wanted to know more about.
I retreated back to my body immediately, ready to tell Zatanna what I had just figured out.
"It exists in the astral plane in this room. That's why it's invisible in the naked eye." I explained.
The astral plane, is a realm of existence that exists in parallel to the physical world. It's a place where thoughts, emotions, and consciousness take on a tangible form.
In the astral plane, the laws of physics and limitations of the physical world do not apply." I continued to explain. "One can travel without the constraints of time and space. It's a realm where the mind is set free. That's how I found the mirror; using astral projection.
"But, it doesn't make sense how a physical object like a relic exists there." I added. "I have never encountered such a thing before."
"So there has actually been a powerful relic hidden here all along." Zatanna said.
"Yes, and it's magic is extraordinary." I said as I cast a spell to reveal the mirror to the naked eye. "There it is."
I had cast a spell to project is astral form to the real world since it's physical form existed in the astral plane.
The mirror, with an ethereal glow, materialized before us revealing its astral form to the naked eye.
Zatanna's eyes widened as she took in the mirror's grandeur. "The magic signature is familiar. I have been channeling this relic all this time without really knowing what I was tapping into." Zatanna said. "But how did it end up in the astral plane, and why has it been hidden here?"
I nodded, my mind still swirling with questions. "That's what I am asking myself. Although, it makes some sense since it's called the Axiom of Dimensions. But how do we get it back to the physical world?"
"This is ancient magic." Zatanna said thoughtfully. "And there's a reason why it's been kept hidden that way for ages, beyond the prying. Maybe it should stay that way."
"I understand what you mean, but it does us no good hidden away." I said, a little desperate, yearning to reach my full potential. "No one really knows about it, or they'd already be here."
"You're wrong. This Sanctum, has attracted the attention of powerful sorcerers from across the realms." Zatanna contradicted.
I raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Sorcerers? Aware of the Axiom?"
Zatanna sighed, her gaze fixed on the mirror as if it held the answers. "At first, I thought they were after the ancient books in the library, which are undoubtedly valuable. But now, sensing the magic in this room and the mirror, I'm not so sure. They seemed determined to get inside the Sanctum, even if it meant bypassing its formidable defenses."
"Who are these sorcerers?" I inquired, my memories flashing through all the DC sorcerers I knew of.
"While you might be all powerful, there things you might not be aware of yet." Zatanna said. "Some sorcerers are so power-hungry that they do anything, and give anything just to become more powerful. The magic from this specific chamber has helped me to keep them away from Greenpoint, and I wish for it to stay that way.
"I thought you said you'd help me?" I said, noticing that Zatara wasn't ready to bring the mirror out of the astral plane.
"Yes. I'll help you and stay true to my words." She replied. "But you'll have to master the axiom of dimensions from within the astral plane, where it's safe."
I contemplated the implications of her words. She was right to desire safety for Greenpoint and the world. I couldn't hold that against her.
On the bright side, this wasn't new territory for me. I had mastered a lot of knowledge about the mystic arts in the astral plane, and this wasn't going to be any different.
With the night having been heavy, and our bodies worn out, we parted ways and headed to our rooms for a good night sleep.
