Feng Yun walked along the path with vigilance and paid attention to every single thing that happened around him. Surprisingly, he sensed less beasts as he continued along the path. Their auras dimmed continuously until he finally couldn't sense them.

'As I thought, the inner valley has less beasts than the outside. But that means that this is where the stronger ones are.'

Knowing this, he secretly felt excitement and a lust for battle arose from within him. However, he quickly made himself calm as he realized he would need to be extra careful around this place. Though he himself was already quite powerful, he knew too little about the areas in the inner valley. He couldn't act without intelligence. That was a rule that he exacted upon himself.

For now, he would only have to pick his battles wisely and put thought into all of his actions. As he went down the path, the violet color of the surroundings that he was so used to, actually began to turn a little darker. It seemed much darker in this area than in the previous area. Feng Yun felt the grass and plants on the trees and saw in shock as the plants disintegrated without much force at all!

"Why is the environment here so brittle? This couldn't be the result of killing intent and battle, could it?"

Feng Yun felt apprehensive towards the path that lay ahead of him now. If the killing intent displayed by beasts was enough to erode the environment, then what kind of strength did they actually possess?

"No...I must not be afraid. No matter who it is or what cultivation they have, it is up to fate to decide whether I live or die. I must be fearless in the face of challenge."

Feng Yun steeled his resolve with words and walked forward on the path once more. However, he wasn't that afraid. His escaping abilities had reached a terrifying level and if he encountered danger that could potentially harm him, he was confident in escaping with his life intact albeit with a few injuries.

As he continued on the path, he finally the saw the end of the path. The moment he stepped off of it, the killing intent of the several beasts who resided in the forest pressed down on him with an unbearable pressure. It took Feng Yun by surprise but he wasn't weak. Putting on a smile he coldly stated,

"This much killing intent isn't enough to harm me! None of you know how many people I have killed in my previous life and this one!" With a bit of effort, he stood up and assaulted the opposition with his own killing intent, suppressing them considerably.

However, he was still quite shocked. The amount of killing intent that these beasts had amassed was certainly nothing small. Feng Yun walked forward through the forest, on high alert, and his sword already brandished. He kept his own killing intent controlled so that no one would be able to identify him quickly. As he progressed through the darkened Violet Slaughter Valley, he couldn't help but get an eerie feeling.

Even after several hours had passed, he still hadn't encountered a single beast. There was something wrong with the setting. Even IF the beasts here were supposed to be lesser than the outer valley, they shouldn't be non-existent right? Otherwise, why would the beasts from the outer valley not move into this place? There had to be something so powerful that it was keeping them away.

'If that's the case, then I really should be careful around here. This may be the resting grounds of a Tyrant or Truth realm beast. I absolutely cannot provoke such a thing. However, as long as I don't go looking for it, I should be fine.'

Feng Yun steeled himself and moved on. After a long while, a sharp tuft of violet fur emerged into his line of sight. He reacted quickly, moving near a bush and hiding immediately. His eyes narrowed as he tried to make out the distinct shape through the undergrowth. There it was, as Feng Yun had suspected, a violet tiger, bent down over a carcass.

The tiger had it's teeth buried into the flesh of a violet deer, wildly tearing at it like a demon. It seemed to have forgotten about guarding itself and focused only on devouring it's prey. The tiger had blood red eyes that could overpower a normal cultivator with but a stare.

The smell of death wafted over to Feng Yun's area where he analyzed the situation. The tiger had most likely just executed another animal and chosen to eat it in this area. Beasts in the Violet Slaughter Valley wouldn't generally eat their prey in the same area they caught it because the body's odor would inevitably draw more powerful beasts in to steal the prey. Therefore, they had to move to a more secluded and secure location to truly eat without having to keep their guard up.

'This stupid tiger must have thought that since this area is so empty, there would be no one to disturb his meal time. And he's let his guard down as well! Unfortunately, this one shall gladly extract your heart!'

Feng Yun didn't immediately attack. He knew that taking on beasts at this part of the forest wasn't a simple matter and that his cultivation was quite low, even if he could fight against opponents three levels higher than himself. These beasts relied on the power of bloodlust and slaughter to win their battles. Feng Yun would have to use every trick up his sleeve to win the fight.

Quietly, he took out his crossbow and loaded one of his poisoned arrows within it. The Nematode Body Ripping Poison was extremely useful in weakening the opponent's defenses and if the beast or man wasn't strong enough, then they would most likely die. Feng Yun didn't think that the poison would kill the tiger, but he knew that the effects would certainly be unpleasant.

Aiming the crossbow at the tiger, he disguised his killing intent as much as possible. A cold light and savagery flickered in his eyes. Another kill, another heart.

"Hehe, die you stupid tiger." He whispered and fired the bolt at the tiger's head.

The arrow sailed through the air and was on a straight course for the tiger's head, but something unexpected happened. The tiger's eyes flashed with boiling hot killing intent and it sensed the arrow almost the exact second that it was shot. Surprise flickered in its eyes, but its reflexes also activated with the adrenaline coursing through its veins.

It leaped to the side, the arrow merely grazing it's shoulder. Unfortunately, Feng Yun had applied poison to the tip of the arrows and the sides of them were merely sharp. The arrow only caused a slight wound to appear on the tiger's shoulder. Blood trickled out but no pain was felt by the tiger. Only a burning rage.

"ROARRR!"

"Well then, I didn't quite expect that to happen," Feng Yun stood up his eyebrows raised. "Stupid tiger, you have pretty damn good reflexes, I'll tell you that."

The tiger looked at its new opponent with rage burning all over. It's killing intent had begun to unleash and attempted to overpower Feng Yun. The latter didn't feel much pressure, but his expression was somewhat grim. He truly hadn't expected the radar on the beasts to be this powerful, even when they were eating.

"Well, nothing to it. Just have to kill you. Give me your heart!" Feng Yun acted first, his sword dancing through the wind as he chopped at the beast with his full power.

The tiger roared and swept the sword with its claw. The two forces clashed and neither side was losing out to the other. In fact, the tiger seemed to dominate the battle.

"Tch, you're quite strong, stupid tiger!" Upon saying this, Feng Yun activated his martial skills.

Raiding Thunder Palm!

The powerful Yuan Energy fist lashed out at the tiger's defenses, nearly penetrating through all of them. The tiger leaped back with surprise and its eyes instantly narrowed. It immediately reevaluated its opponent with more caution, pacing back and forth. Feng Yun calmly looked at the tiger's movements, analyzing everything that it did. The tiger wasn't dumb. It had fought many battles before and had extricated itself out of many dangerous situations. It would be quite tough to kill.

"I don't believe that you will not die today!"

Feng Yun activated his dragon skill, his defensive and offensive abilities multiplying. Utilizing the Wind Transferrer ability, he was able to catch the tiger by surprise, arriving at its side in an instant. The tiger tried to make some distance between them, leaping backward, but Feng Yun was relentless. Now that he had gotten his opponent flustered, he had to take advantage of the moment. Instantly, he lashed out with a kick to the abdomen, throwing the tiger several meters away.

Before the tiger could recover, Feng Yun brought his sword back and threw it with all of his strength, aiming at the tiger's head. The sword flew in a straight line with perfect accuracy but the tiger's reflexes were still superior. It swerved its head to dodge the sword, which impaled the tree that the tiger was lying against. Fear flashed in the tiger's eyes.

It suddenly realized that it the fight were to continue, then it would undoubtedly die. It had been through enough battle situations to judge when there was a battle it could not win. The tiger rose to its feet and frantically began to run away with all of its speed focused on escape. Feng Yun stood there blankly for a moment, before realizing that the tiger was trying to run.

"AH! Wait for me! You bastard, don't run away without dying to my sword!" Feng Yun burst through the forest as well, chasing after the tiger. He followed the animal's movements closely and was careful not to lose it.

After an hour of chasing, the tiger had become anxious. The human chasing it just would not give up and seemed intent on ripping it apart. It secretly lamented to itself about the amount of bad luck it had. The tiger continued to run but Feng Yun was steadily getting closer.

Suddenly, the two burst into an open clearing. A cave was present in the center of the clearing, its mouth as wide as a small hill. The tiger didn't even think and entered the cave without a second thought. It was much to scared to contemplate the consequences.

Feng Yun however stopped chasing the moment he saw the cave. He was paying more attention to the cave than the tiger had been and could instantly see that it wasn't as it seemed at all.

'The last time I entered a mysterious cave, a Tyrant realm beast tried to kill me. Could this be the resting place of one of those beasts? If so, I need to get out of here. Screw the tiger!'

Just as he was about to flee the scene, the sound of bones being crunched echoed though the clearing. Feng Yun looked backward and saw a ferocious beast walking out of the cave, with a smaller figure in its mouth. The beast was over fifty meters tall and explosive killing intent surged from its nostrils, which sucked in a huge amount of air. The beast had a large mane of unkempt hair and blood leaked from it's mouth.

The beast was a freaking lion!

The gigantic lion held a corpse inside its mouth. It had a desperate expression on its face, and the look of horror stayed forever present on it, even after death.

'The tiger!'

The lion chewed through the tiger's corpse like tofu, not even paying any attention to Feng Yun. The boy was transfixed in place. His body wouldn't move for some reason.

'Not good. Not good at all! I need to hide...now!'

Feng Yun calmed himself down and leaped towards a bush of violet plants, not daring to make a single movement. The lion finished chewing and swallowing the tiger after a minute and looked around. A vicious grin suddenly appeared on its face as a deep and commanding voice was let out.

"I smell your fear. I smell the blood pounding in your veins. I smell...the emotion and life that you live upon. Human, you trespassed on my grounds. I hope that you taste better than that tiger." Then, the lion's killing intent exploded forth without limits.
