Hey guys, been a few days right? Sorry about the long delay. Oh man, I got the nastiest sickness and I had to..ugh, well lets not delve into the specifics of that. On top of that, my uncle and aunt traveled to America from their native country so I had to interact with them. Plus the tests. Overall, it been a busy week but I hope that this chapter will satisfy you. As I am writing this chapter, I am familiarizing myself with the look of the new RRL site. Enjoy!

Yang Kai and the others were absolutely dumbfounded. To be able to have such strength that the halberd strike barely did any damage to him. Just how powerful is Feng Yun?!
"Brat, I don't know how you managed to block my halberd, but this won't happen again!"
Yang Kai held out his palm and instantly, the halberd shot through the air, landing in it firmly. He twirled the blade around with his arms and readied his fighting stance. Feng Yun smiled coldly at this with no fear at all. He looked over at his sword and noticed that it showed signs of disappearing.
"Hmm, my spiritual energy is just about used up. I should replenish it fast if I want to even compete with Yang Kai."
Feng Yun waved his hand and summoned the Void Universal Manual, that had never showed itself until now. The large book flipped through pages and suddenly, a small portal opened up and pills fell from it. They were silvery and colored like spiritual energy. There were about five or six pills that fell into Feng Yun's hand before the portal closed up.
"Spiritual Energy Replenishing Pills."
Yang Kai saw this and narrowed his eyes. The boy had no intention of backing down at all. He had decided to stay and fight instead of run. What courage!
Feng Yun popped all of the pills into his mouth in one go and immediately, he felt his strength starting to return to him. The Overlord Heaven Piercer and his other spirits all became clear and emanated a strong and pure energy. Feng Yun readied himself into a fighting stance,
"Well then, let's continue where we left off!"
This time, Feng Yun took the initiative to attack. Although he knew that he couldn't defeat Yang Kai with his current cultivation level, using his special methods, he could probably make it difficult for the latter to attack him.
He rushed at him with the full power of the fourth layer of the Xiantian Realm, his sword slicing through air. Yang Kai snorted and brought his halberd up to counter the strike. Feng Yun's blade clashed with Yang Kai's but the difference in strength was clear and even with Feng Yun employing his spirit abilities, there was hardly any damage dealt to him. Sparks flew about as they fought and Feng Yun found his strikes being countered every time.
But how could the "Slaughter Ghost" be defeated so easily?
Feng Yun aimed a strike at Yang Kai's head. The strike was very simple and could clearly be defended by anyone. Yang Kai coldly snorted and raised his halberd to block the strike when suddenly, the strike changed directions with an astounding speed. The sword that was originally going for the head went directly for the lower chest area. Yang Kai saw this and exclaimed,
"Shit!"
His halberd had already gone straight upwards and it would be impossible to block the strike from his angle. Yang Kai gritted his teeth and reacted quickly, a Yuan Energy barrier forming around his chest area. The sword clashed with the barrier and small cracks began to appear on the barrier. However, Feng Yun's strike was losing power and it didn't seem like it could break through. Yang Kai brought his halberd down to keep Feng Yun away from him and the latter jumped high in the air, avoiding the strike and gazing at him overhead. Yang Kai glared at the boy who was falling from the air.
"Little bastard! You're quite cunning! However, I won't be fooled again!"
Feng Yun smiled viciously and descended from the air, heading straight for Yang Kai. The old man in turn held his halberd wide open to slash Feng Yun.
"Here, come into your daddy's blade and die!"
"Children shouldn't be playing with knives," Feng Yun retorted and suddenly, his palm flew forward. In the center of the palm, black aura began to seep out and cover it completely. The black aura expanded constantly until it was practically like flames, licking away at the surroundings. A beam of black aura shot out from his palm, aimed towards Yang Kai. The old man's eyes grew wide and wary as he saw the black aura move towards him.
"W-What is that? I've never seen anything like it!"
"That black aura...so much power!"
Many people exclaimed to themselves as they saw this phenomenon happen. The Void element was of course, something that had never been seen on the continent. After all, it was a True Creation element. Powers like those were not known or utilized by the continent at all! Yang Kai stared at the beam with apprehensiveness. The aura gave off an extremely strong pressure and could absolutely not be underestimated.
"Very well, take this!"
Yang Kai unloaded a vast amount of spiritual energy into the halberd and launched the blade, going straight for the black fist. Feng Yun snorted in disdain as the two forces connected.
The Void aura flickered as it tried to swallow the blade. The black aura grew and grew until it completely covered the object. Yang Kai stared at this with shock and awe. His attack, had actually done nothing! The halberd attacks that he employed were beaten as easy as that?
Feng Yun stared with satisfaction as the blade lost all of its energy. The Void element was powerful, but it could not swallow the spirit completely. At most, it could eat away at the spiritual energy imbued in the weapon to make it weaker. Suddenly, he spit out a mouthful of blood. He coughed painfully, his lungs hurting.
"Shit, the Void aura hasn't completely stabilized yet. If I use it too much, then I will be doing harm to my own body."
By now, his entire body was aching from intensive exhaustion and his energy was running out, both in Yuan Energy and Spiritual Energy. He wouldn't be able to maintain his full combat capacity if his injuries continued to develop negatively. He panted in exhaustion as he watched the look of horror on Yang Kai's face.
Far away, Xia Qing watched her friend desperately fight for survival with helpless feelings. She had known that it would not be easy for Feng Yun to survive such an encounter, especially when there were cultivators far above him attempting to kill him. But he still put on a tenacious charming smile and stared at the face of death without any worries. Xia Qing could feel the complete confidence that Feng Yun's smile exuded despite the situation. Now that her friend was risking his life, could she really only stand by and watch?
"I want to help him...I want to help him so bad...but I am too weak. If I intervene, I'm only going to become a burden for him. Strength strength strength strength! It's all about strength!"
Xia Qing hated herself for being too weak to protect the people she cared about. When she thought about the times when Feng Yun sacrificed himself to save her life, her heart warmed and again came the helpless feeling. In that moment, she swore to herself that she would pursue strength like a mad person, so that she could one day accompany Feng Yun, and not be a burden.
"That's why, you can't die! You have to live, so I can stand alongside you!"
She whispered these words with her delicate voice and prayed to whatever higher entity there was that Feng Yun would be safe. Meanwhile, the boy in question still possessed his smile, albeit it was stained with blood. He looked like he had become a demon. However, only he himself knew his condition. His dragonified appearance had begun to retract and the rebound was showing signs of manifesting. He wasn't in too good of a position to fight.

"Whatever. Only through life and death battles can I truly advance on the path of cultivation!"
The halberd that had lost all of its spiritual energy returned to Yang Kai, who was absolutely furious. Veins creased his forehead and he yelled,
"Little bastard! Where did my spiritual energy go?!"
Yang Kai had invested quite a lot of spiritual energy into his halberd attack and now that it had completely disappeared, his reserves were almost depleted. This naturally made him want to kill the little boy.
"Hehe, I, your father, ate it. I have to say, it didn't taste very good, a little too salty."
Feng Yun teased the old man, which made his even more angry. He didn't believe the boy's words when he said this and instead took it as an insult. Suddenly, another old man arrived at Yang Kai's side and said with a grim face,
"Second Brother, it looks like this kid has more special methods than we thought he would. Since you have nearly lost all of your spiritual energy, I shall aid you in killing this kid and regaining our Zhou Clan's honor!"
"First Brother Teng Xin, I thank you for the assistance. I never expected that despite my cultivation completely overpowering his, that he would be able to actually survive for so long."
"Hmm, we should have expected this. After all, he is from the Cloudscale Sect, one of the top three most powerful sects in the Xu Dynasty. Even in the entire continent, it would rank as being at the very top. Anyways, let us kill him fast."
"Right."
The two old men unleashed the full power of the eighth layer, exerting a dominating pressure upon Feng Yun. He smiled bitterly in response to this.
Looks like there really is no escape from this is there? Two cultivators of the eighth layer pressuring me. I already had trouble dealing with one of them, with this guy Teng Xin added to the mix, I am absolutely doomed. I would flee, but my Falling Heavens Wings have lost their energy as my spiritual energy has. Not only that, even if I was to escape, they would probably torture the other mercenaries just to lure me out. I cannot implicate others because of my own faults!
Feng Yun stood tall with pride and a firm mentality. If I cannot live through this, then I will destroy them as much as possible before dying!
"Heaven, have you really decided my death? What, was my talent too strong for you? Come on, I still haven't punched that asshole of a Master for Warden, I haven't experienced a true love, I haven't reached the peak of strength, and I never got the chance to live a carefree life. I can't just die here!"
"TWO OLD BASTARDS! Even if I cannot win, I will take you down with me!"
Feng Yun leaped off the ground, though his pressure was now much weaker than if it was due to his Dragonification subsiding. Now, his clothes were revealed to be tattered and blood stained and the red substance leaked out of his mouth as well.
"Hmph, foolishness. You really think that you can deal with us?"
The two snorted in disdain and casually executed a few martial skills toward Feng Yun. The dominating pressure absolutely was not something to be taken lightly and upon confronting it, Feng Yun felt as if the gravity had multiplied around him. He gritted his teeth and executed his own martial skills.
"Twin Dragons' Harmony Torrent!"
The two familiar dragon auras appeared behind him and fused into a great torrential energy wave, which swept its way toward them. Teng Xin raised his eyebrows in recognition, but there was no trace of fear at all. He waved his hands and manifested a large amount of Yuan Energy to combat the wave of energy.
The wave collided with the Yuan Energy barrier and instantly, the wave was shattered, just like that. Teng Xin had actually shattered a powerful martial skill that was considered in the Upper Sage level.
"Although this soul attack martial skill is indeed very strong, your cultivation is too low to be able to use it to its full power."
The two smiled in disdain and expected to see the boy staring at them with despair written all over his face but when they looked, his figure was not there. Instead, Feng Yun had already moved, arriving a few meters away from them and his eyes flashing with a cold light. In his hands was the black-white katana that he always had and blood flying from it.
While the two cultivators were surprised, Feng Yun slashed his sword quickly at the neck of Teng Xina and attempted to sever it. The man recovered just in time and executed a Yuan Energy barrier to block the attack. The sword pierced the barrier but would not go through the barrier without more force.
"Raiding Thunder Palm!"
Knowing that he could not destroy the barrier with his sword alone, Feng Yun used his martial skill to add more force. The pressure exerted on the barrier grew greater and greater as time passed. Teng Xin narrowed his eyes and concentrated more on his barrier, not daring to let up in the slightest. He had come to realize he couldn't underestimate the boy and even when he was on his final moments, he fought with a desperate ferocity.
"HAAAAH!"
Feng Yun put maximum effort to break the shield but he still couldn't do it despite his strongest efforts. He didn't pay any mind to it and continued to exert as much effort as possible.
"Tch, I still can't break through the shield. I need more power. But how...wait...what?"
Feng Yun hadn't noticed it before, but as he was fighting with his life on the line, his dantian began to experience changes. Previously, he was extremely close to the fifth layer of the Xiantian realm, but he wasn't ready at that time to take that final step. Now, however, with the continuous circulation of the Yuan Energy in his body due to constant fighting, his cultivation began to rise and improve, until it had finally reached the breaking point.
The energy in Feng Yun's body expanded and circulated at an even faster pace than before and prepared to release. A faint golden glow surrounded his body, making him seem illuminated in holiness. Teng Xin on the other side of the barrier felt the strange holy energy radiating from Feng Yun's body and instantly, his senses peaked.
"This kid, is he possibly making a breakthrough?"
As soon as he thought this, the circulation of energy grew stronger until an incredibly powerful burst of energy unleashed itself through the atmosphere. The ripples of energy caused waves to surface and an explosion to manifest, blowing back the two elders several meters. Surprise appeared on their faces as they looked up in shock at the twelve year old boy currently immersed in a golden light, his injuries recovering at an astonishing rate and his complexion changing from pale to bright. Feng Yun looked absolutely holy and an awe inspiring presence swept the entire battleground.
"This kid," Teng Xin and Yang Kai said in a terrified voice. "D-Did he just breakthrough?"
Feng Yun awoke from his trance like state, a smile crossing the corner of his lips. He stared at the two elders in a lofty manner, as if he no longer put them in his eyes. With a cold laugh he said,
"Well well well. Looks like it's time for round two."
