Feng Yun's body chilled upon hearing those words. The lion's words...were directed towards him? The terrifying beast sniffed the air, as if trying to catch the scent of prey.

"Human, you cannot hide from me. Either give yourself for a quick death or face a much more...painful approach." The lion was extremely casual and smiled, seeming as if it was playing with Feng Yun.

'That thing's probably already discovered me. I need to find a way to get out of here, and fast!'

"Warden", he mentally sent. "I've been found. What should I do?"

Soon, enough the voice of the creature was sent back.

"Well, this beast possesses the strength of a Tyrant realm beast from what I can sense. Oh, and it's pretty low level too!"

"What do you mean 'pretty low level'?!"

"Around the 2nd Layer. With your strength alone, escaping this guy isn't possible."

"Then how can I escape?"

"At this point in time, there's no choice but to use that pill."

"NO!" Feng Yun retorted. "That thing only works for ten minutes and the drawbacks are too huge. I'll be immobile for ten minutes! Not only that, the enhancement pill only boosts my cultivation by three levels. How can I evade a Tyrant realm beast like with that!"

"Calm down boy. If you take it, your strength will soar to the Xiantian 8th Layer. In addition, your abilities make your strength to become comparable to opponents another three levels higher. With the assistance of the Soul Bone Artifact, you have a chance at escaping. Once you've escaped, you have to find a spot to hide for a day." Feng Yun contemplated the decision. He didn't like it, but it was the only way. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Alright, we'll do it. But we need to act fast."

"HUUUUUMANNNNN!" The lion called out in a childish voice. "I'm getting impatient. Hand over your life...or I'll come for you myself."

"Damn kitty, I'm not sticking around any longer to wait for you." As he said this, Feng Yun leaped from the undergrowth and sprinted backwards without looking back, his efforts completely focused on escape. The lion stared blankly for a moment before chuckling to itself.

"So you chose the hard way. Well then, let the hunt begin!" Then, it too leaped into the air and ran after Feng Yun, the muscles in its legs making powerful strides. It's movements seemed to be effortless and casual, as if it could catch its prey anytime.

Feng Yun looked back and could clearly see the beast chasing him with an excited glint in its eyes. It was actually enjoying the chase! With a grim expression, he summoned the bright yellow pill that glowed with a great power. A moment of hesitance flashed in his eyes, but he steeled his resolve and forced it down his throat. Upon doing so the ball was rapidly disassembled in his dantian until it was a large stream of potent Yuan Energy flowing into his dantian. The constant stream of energy provided enough for him to break through through the following layers.

BOOM!

Xiantian 6th Layer!

BOOM!

Xiantian 7th Layer!

BOOM!

Xiantian 8th Layer!

The holy glow around Feng Yun's body continued to grow and grow until it reached an unstoppable amount. Faint lightning like flashes appeared in his eyes and the feeling of immense power flooded his veins. The feeling was completely unlike that of the 5th Layer. He felt incredible and as if nothing could stop him. However, he also received a feeling deep within his dantian. He could sense clearly that the power that he had miraculously gained was only temporary and would not last long. He had to hurry.

The lion stared as the holy glow around Feng Yun maximized to the point where he made several breakthroughs. The lion felt extremely surprised. Three breakthroughs in an instant? Simply impossible...

"...unless this boy took a Cultivation Enhancement Pill!"

"Haha boy, never would I have thought that you would have such rare possessions on you. I wonder...what other things do you have?" The lion felt motivated now that he had seen the pill. These types of pills were quite rare. If Feng Yun had something like this, then it probably meant he had other treasures as well. Clearly, the lion wanted those treasures.

"Go fuck yourself," Feng Yun retorted. He immediately sped up his pace, traversing many kilometers in an instant. The lion narrowed its eyes and pursued, this time putting in more effort.

"BOOOOYYYY! I'll give you a deal. If you hand over the treasures that are in your possession, then I may consider sparing your life." Feng Yun didn't even hesitate to refuse.

"Ah go to hell. You want my treasures...over my dead body!"

The lion's expression turned slightly ugly as he said,

"So be it."

Suddenly, it began to accelerate, and it was getting closer and closer to Feng Yun's body. The boy didn't even flinch when he saw it and merely thought that it was normal. In addition to the increase in speed, the lion released violent killing energies towards Feng Yun, which were clearly nothing to underestimate.

Falling Heavens Wings!

The artifact that had merged with Feng Yun's body had now been released the azure gold feathers flying through the wind. He leaped into the air and flew at an extremely quick pace, dodging the energy attacks that the lion threw at him. The wings also manifested an enormous pressure onto the lion's body, causing him to slow down slightly.

"What is this pressure?" the lion lamented. "Could those wings be...a Soul Bone Artifact?!"

The lion was shocked to see such a rare treasure appearing on Feng Yun's body. However, it quickly recovered from its shock and analyzed the object.

"Such power, it's clearly high level! If I were to use this artifact, wouldn't my strength soar by many times? I must have it!"

The lion was now using its full power to chase after Feng Yun and had a greedy glint in its eyes. It no longer decided to play around upon seeing the treasure. Feng Yun sighed as he realized this. He utilized the Yuan Energy in his body to utilize the Cloudscale Sect Evasion Arts to increase his speed. He was able to put some distance between them but the lion showed no signs of giving up.

"Damn lion, don't you ever give up." Feng Yun was quite exasperated. They had already reached the outer portions of the Violet Slaughter Valley and had attracted the attention of a multitude of beasts.

"Kid, you need to find a place to rest fast. Your time has almost run out. Find a way to distract him."

"Easier said than done."

Feng Yun turned around while hovering in midair and conjured up as much Yuan Energy as he could muster, concentrating it into his wings. Then, the energy turned into five azure orbs of enormous power.

Five Azure Pillar Strike!

The orbs transformed into linear beams of azure light that shot straight at the lion's body. It stared at the approaching beams in contemplation.

"Hmph, the power of the Soul Bone Artifact may be high, but it isn't enough to break through my defenses!" The lion didn't even flinch as the beams were about to attack it.

"Oh I'm aware of that. But let's see whether this will puncture that thick hide of yours." Feng Yun's hand exploded into black aura that flooded his entire body. He raised his palm towards the lion and a beam of blackness accompanied the azure pillars in the attack.

The lion had no time to react and was violently assaulted by the Void aura and the azure pillar strike. The azure pillars were able to deal some damage to his skin, but it wasn't a lot. The Void Element however really scared him.

"W-What the hell is this thing?!" The lion squirmed and slapped its own skin as it tried to get rid of the black aura that was trying to erode its body. The lion felt like his organs were being forcibly torn apart and his skin was peeling. It was actually in pain. The lion quickly utilized all of its power to try and disperse the black devouring aura.

However, when it was busy trying to disperse the Void Element, it had forgotten completely about Feng Yun. The spot where he once was, was now empty. After a while, the lion had been able to force most of the blackness out of his body. However, it was in a nasty shape now. Pieces of flesh were torn off and formed scars on its body. Its face wasn't clean anymore and numerous slashes were apparent.

"I've gotten most of it out of my system. Now, boy, I'm going to kill y---" The lion stared in shock as he realized that Feng Yun wasn't there at all. The boy had actually escaped when he wasn't looking. The lion's face turned red with anger as he roared with wrath.

"BOYYYYYY!!!!! YOU BASTARD!!! I'LL FIND YOU ONE DAY...AND I WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING NIGHTMARE!" The roars of the lion had shattered the nervous systems of many beasts unfortunate enough to be in the area and flattened forests. But the lion was the one who suffered the most. Pissed off and angry, it tried to sense Feng Yun's presence but there was nothing. With a venomous glare at the forest, the lion left the area back to its cave.

Feng Yun flew fast, his wings flapping uncontrollably. He had evaded the cave lion, which was a good thing. However, now he was stuck in a predicament. In about a minute, his body would become immobile and he would stay like that for an entire day. Feng Yun could already feel some of his bones becoming stiff. He needed to find a place to rest.

Looking over the area carefully, he tried to keep a lookout for caves or secluded areas to rest in. He rushed frantically to find a place as the seconds were slowly ticking down. Suddenly, he spotted a small silent area, that was separated from the others. There was heavy bushes and undergrowth as well as a few large boulders.

'Found it!'

Feng Yun immediately flew down to the area and landed himself next to the boulders. Working with extreme speed, he broke the boulders apart, laying the pieces against a wall and intersected them, forming something like a hole. The hole was not too big, but it was enough to house his own body. He made the makeshift igloo seem like a natural formation, such that some beasts would not think of it as inconspicuous and find him. Quickly, Feng Yun hid himself inside the 'igloo' and closed the hole off with another boulder.

Only a few seconds left.

Feng Yun could feel his bones stiffening and it creaking. His body felt like being put to sleep. A faint numbness arose from within him. Acting quickly and with perseverance, Feng Yun used his last seconds to apply an ointment on him that would make his scent unnoticeable. At the exact moment that he applied it, his body collapsed onto the hard soil. He could not feel any part of his body anymore. However, he had set up the precautions so he hoped that everything would turn out okay. Still, there were many things that could happen that could compromise his safety.

'I'm gonna be stuck in here for a while. Might as well get comfy.'

Then, he drifted off to a deep slumber, not daring to make any noises with his loud breathing, for fear of alerting something.
