Slaughter Ghost

Hey guys, well, this is my first novel and I'm trying out something new so It may not be that good. However, I will try my best and, without further ado, here it is.

Laying on his back, blood pouring out of his chest, Feng Yun recalled the past events and his life that had seemed to have gone by so fast. His raven purplish black hair was tinged with a bit of blood but not spoiling his devilishly handsome face and toned muscular features. He was thin but sturdy, and quite tall to top it off.

Feng Yun had always grown up harshly. Well it didn’t seem harsh since he was used to it. His father was a supreme assassin that had been widely known around the world and feared, though he had gone into seclusion. His mother had died around the time Feng Yun was born due to assassins. That was what had prompted his father to teach his own son assassin abilities.Well, that was what Feng Yun himself thought. He wasn’t really sure of the details. His mother’s death had always been a shady topic and when he brought it up with his father, the latter wouldn’t even answer. When Feng Yun was 6 years old, his father began imposing his extremely terrifying training upon him hoping to forge his son into an assassin of great caliber. He had gone through an amount of pain that ordinary people could not handle for even 5 minutes. Every day, after he had learned something new, he would spar with his father….and get slugged….every single time.

Although it was harsh, he was very talented at the subject of killing and assassination, disturbingly. He became a hardened and cold killer, but was also taught to be fair and to keep innocents out of harm. 11 years later, Feng Yun was said to have surpassed his father and became the supreme assassin in the whole world. He began taking missions and assassinated high-profile targets that harmed or oppressed innocents. One would think, well there can’t be that many people in the world who are evil, Wrong! There’s quite a lot of em, and justice duty was always needed.

After years of destroying evils, his enemies and peers alike gave him the title of “Slaughter Ghost”. The line of work he had enrolled in however, grew boring and it became too easy to kill these people. Though there were many evils in the world, most of them were pretty cliché and never came up with new ideas to oppress people. Not only that, some of the really powerful people started to get scared of the “Slaughter Ghost” and didn’t wish to face his retribution.

Can’t people find others to kill for them!

Although it was boring, Feng Yun still took it seriously and put effort to kill people. On this particular mission, he had been sent to assassinate a dictator in Russia that had been giving the death penalty to those that deserved justice and harmed citizens. It had been a good chance to have a vacation, Feng Yun had thought. He had rented an apartment and planned all his actions there.

When Feng Yun was walking through the cold street in the middle of the night back to his apartment, he had noticed people following but didn’t care. He had just continued to walk leisurely while whistling a tune. When he got to his apartment, he sat down and turned on the TV, flipping through channels.

“Come out, fools. You could do a better job concealing yourself. I mean seriously, I’m ashamed of your skills.”

They burst through the door breaking it down into smithereens. The ten men surrounded him in an instant, their guns trained on his vitals while searching his expression.

“Our employer…h-has ordered your d-death, ‘Slaughter Ghost’,” one of the men managed to stutter while gazing in terror at the man before him in his late twenties, a calm smile plastered on his face.

“Oh really. Let me guess, is it that Middle Eastern tyrant I offended by killing his son. What was his name? Al Giraffe? I don’t know. Oh boy, I forgot my manners. I have to give people hospitality when they enter my home right?” He moved to stand up while the men’s expressions hardened at the sight. One of them, most likely the commander said in a rough voice,

“Sit back down. Do not move even a single muscle!”

But even he, the commander felt some fear looking at Feng Yun. The prestige of the Slaughter Ghost was simply too high for anyone to comprehend. He had done so many noteworthy deeds that there was almost no one in the underground world who didn’t know of him. Not only that, they had heard some very cruel rumors about him. The way he dispatched his targets, was said to be extremely brutal. The soldiers couldn’t tell if they would make it out alive…or if they would have any body parts by that time. Feng Yun didn’t listen to the commander and stretched his back leisurely. The commander was overcome by stress at this moment and yelled at him,

“SIT DOWN!”

“Jeez, would you quiet down a little? You’re in my house you know. I can kick out unpleasant people whenever I want.” Feng Yun’s eyes sharpened and a glare pierced the commander’s eyes.

“Wh-What do you plan to do? There are multiple guns trained on you. We’ve sealed the door. Y-You have no escape!” Feng Yun raised his eyebrows at this. His cold smile grew wider and wider as he said,

“Well, you are right. I have no escape. But I don’t need to live to take you guys out.”

The commander didn’t react fast enough to Feng Yun’s words as a grenade dropped from the latter’s hands.

“NO!”

His pleas were too late as the grenade exploded the minute it touched the ground. The explosion rocked the entire apartment and completely obliterated the room that Feng Yun was living in. The soldiers’ cries of anguish were drowned out by the intense noise and carnage that accompanied the explosion. Fire blazed forth from the apartment and blood showered from the sky. The body of a young man lay outside the apartment, blood showered all over his clothes. His raven black hair however remained untouched and his face still had a cold smile on it. This led up to the present.

“Haha. Finally…a reason to leave this boring world. I’m so done with this lifestyle. Besides, I don’t think that this will sow bad karma for me. Supreme assassin Feng Yun died in the line of duty! How noble! It makes me want to puke from laughter. Father will probably be pretty angry at me when he meets me in the heavens later. Whatever, I’ve done enough for him.” Feng Yun laughed at the thought. To a person who happened to pass by, it might seem like he had lost his sanity. Well, it wasn’t far from the truth.

Well then, life should be pretty smooth now. Maybe there’s some island for me to live on in heaven, he thought. I’m thinking maybe a private villa that glows with holiness crap. Some goddesses to accompany me in the bed when I’m bored and a glass of wine. Yeah, that would be great! Feng Yun closed his eyes and prepared to never wake up in this world again. No more of the tough life for him. However, when his consciousness drifted away, a calm and gentle voice entered his ears.

“Kid, this is just the start.”
