Holy Imprint

Heyyyyy, another chapter for you guys today. I'm trying to get as much in as possible before my weekend ends and I have to go back to studying. Well, I'm wasting a lot of time just writing this comment so let's get right to it. Enjoy!

At the gates of the Zhou Clan, the people were all thrown into a fluster by the events that had transpired not even a few minutes ago. The Death Singer Mercenaries, Zhou Clan and Du Gu Clan representatives were all shocked to the core by what had happened and had trouble processing it.

"Exactly...what just happened now? We had sent our elders to crush the Cloudscale Sect young master and he was on the verge of death. But...somehow, he is still alive?"

Zhou Guan was in a state of chaos. He had never anticipated that the child would be able to execute three of the Zhou Clan's elders by himself and cause the top two to flee. This was undoubtedly a huge hit to the Zhou Clan, both in pride and in structural power. Without the elders, although they still had a Truth realm cultivator on their side, their forces were still weakened severely.

"The kid, actually managed to make experts of the eighth layer of the Xiantian Realm flee. At this rate, he may become a real thorn in your side, eh Zhou Guan?" Du Gu Yang remarked with interest and a dark look.

Du Gu Yang sighed and noted how nervous the man was. The Cloudscale Sect's power was enough to induce fear into even the mentally toughest on the continent.

"Do not worry Brother Zhou. Even if the Cloudscale Sect comes looking for us, they still cannot ignore my status. The Dynasty Emperor wouldn't let the Cloudscale Sect kill you if you are under my protection. Dynasty Emperor Xu Qinzheng values his City Lords. Although, I will be pressured quite a bit by it."

Du Gu Yang frowned slightly at the thought of this. He knew that even if he used his status, some trouble would come of it. He had to contemplate whether the Zhou Clan was worth it. Sure they had some power and their young miss was quite talented, but it wasn't like the Du Gu Clan couldn't find other women of high status.

Zhou Yanling was trembling in fear from the display that Feng Yun had shown. The boy had displayed a martial prowess that was simply indisputable. If she had been in the elder's place, she would most likely have been torn to bits and pieces in an instant. She wouldn't even get the chance to think or counterattack before her head flew through the air. The thought of this shook her to the core, and she felt a cold sensation numbing her heart. If he had been so powerful when he had sparred against her, it would likely only take a flick of the finger to destroy her.

She regretted it. She regretted it all. She regretted offending him, harboring malicious intent towards him, acting arrogant in front of him, everything. She was filled with so much regret that she could cry. Three confirmed elders had died due to her selfish intents. It was likely that her clan's relations with the Du Gu Clan had worsened due to this matter.

Xia Qing on the other hand was genuinely rejoicing with happiness. She had been extremely worried that Feng Yun would be killed by the elders but had never expected that Feng Yun would be able to recover and break through in his final moments, dealing a fatal blow to the enemy.

"You keep surprising me over and over again. Please be safe Feng Yun! Return safely!"

Suddenly, a loud boom echoed through the air as a figure with immense speed ran into the compound, power emanating from his body and a killing intent thicker than blood manifesting. The figure stopped running as he neared the compound and stood before the people he called enemies. The figure had the appearance of a twelve year old boy with godly looks and a demeanor that could shake the heavens. This was obviously Feng Yun and he had a cold smile that reflected disdain for the opposition he was facing. He held a sack in one hand, which he tossed in front of the feet of Du Gu Yang and Zhou Guan.

"Hmph, this is what happens to those who offend me!"

Zhou Guan waved his hand and the sack flew into his hands. He sensed the weight in them, causing him to feel anxiety. He could feel in his heart what the objects were but he didn't want it to be true. He desperately didn't want it to be true. He opened the sack and dumped the contents on the floor, two circular shapes tumbling to the floor.

The heads of Yang Kai and Teng Xin.

"Impossible!" Gasps ran through the crowd and whispers of shock erupted immediately. They very clearly recognized the identities of the heads, but were still unable to accept the reality. Zhou Guan stared at the objects in shock but anger quickly manifested on his face. His eyes were filled with fury and indignation.

"You little bastard, you actually dared to kill my elders! You won't be getting off that easily. In fact, I will make sure to torture you. You shouldn't have even come back!"

"Oh, shut it, you old bastard. This young master is too preoccupied to deal with you."

"What?!"

Zhou Guan yelled in surprise but Feng Yun wasn't paying attention. He was looking around for someone. At last, he spotted an old man huddled behind the bodies of the fallen elders. Yi Wei, the last elder remaining, Feng Yun thought. Yi Wei had been staring at him, horrified, but when he saw the boy make eye contact with him, having fear was an understatement. He could see himself being delivered to hell in that instant. Zhou Guan looked over to see what Feng Yun was looking at and instantly, his pupils contracted and a threat made it's way out of his lips.

"Feng Yun, don't you dare touch Yi---"

But Feng Yun was already gone. He had disappeared in an instant, his figure utterly indiscernible in the illusions it caused. In the matter of a second, he was already before Yi Wei. The old man kneeled on the ground, Feng Yun's pressure utterly dominating his entire body. Stuttered words made its way out of his mouth as he pleaded for mercy.

"Please...great lord! Saint, emperor, monarch! Spare my life. I beg of the great one to spare me and my small life. This one had no eyes and thus could not recognize what a powerful man you were. Please spare..."

"Quit your bullshit. You had your chance. I will not speak with a lowly one such as yourself anymore. Since I couldn't torture the rest of your brothers, I'll do that for you instead."

Feng Yun lifted his hand and placed it on top of Yi Wei's head. Then, the hand burst into a black aura, swallowing up half of Yi Wei's head. The black aura consumed and devoured the flesh, wanting to eat more and more of Yi Wei but Feng Yun restricted it, trying to make it as painful as possible.

"AHHHHH!"

Yi Wei screamed at the top of his lungs from the pain he received. Half of his face had been swallowed up and what was left was a skeleton that was on the verge of braking apart.

"Not enough."

Feng Yun still was not satisfied, his thirst for revenge not sated yet. He placed his black palm on Yi Wei's chest, the aura eating through the flesh completely. Pain coursed through Yi Wei's veins as he felt his heart shudder. He shook his own body scratching at his near empty chest, trying to prevent the pain but all of his attempts were futile. Yi Wei struggled to breathe properly, gasps escaping his throat and his eyes turned bloodshot.

"Kill me...kill me now! Please!!!"

Yi Wei was so much in pain that he desperately wanted someone to kill him. Feng Yun decided to no longer torture him and nodded his head, the sword appearing in his hand. He swung his sword, Yi Wei's entire head flying through the air until it came to a stop by Feng Yun's leg. Then, he had the Void aura swallow the rest of Yi Wei's body, devouring the thing in an instant.

It looks like I am still influenced by my old habits, Feng Yun thought to himself. I can't seem to rid myself of my previous life no matter what I do can I? Torture and slaughter of evil people is just too natural for me.

Feng Yun turned his head to look at Zhou Guan and a smile of triumph surfaced upon his face. He said in a loud voice,

"Well then, all of your elders are dead now! What will you do?"

"Bastard! I will kill you personally!"

Feng Yun didn't care about Zhou Guan's threats and completely tuned him out. Suddenly, Feng Yun dropped to one knee. He began to pant with exhaustion and his Yuan Energy stopped radiating. He leaned on his sword for support.

Shit, he thought. It seems like I've run out of Yuan Energy and spiritual energy. Soon, I won't be able to maintain my top combat prowess. Even after breaking through, I am exhausted. I cannot fight in my current condition.

Xia Qing saw this and immediately ran to his side, placing her soft and tender hand on his shoulder. She gazed at his face with her pretty blue eyes and asked worriedly,

"Are you alright Feng Yun?"

"Yeah. However, I won't be able to survive if Zhou Guan decided to personally attack me himself." Xia Qing nodded her head but a question suddenly popped into her head.

"Why did you come back? You could have escaped the city and found the Cloudscale Sect to wipe out the Zhou Clan! Why didn't you do so?" Feng Yun stared speechlessly at her before laughing out loud.

"Haha, indeed I could have done that. However, if I just abandoned you and left by myself, they would definitely kill you. If I let my friends die so easily, I have no right to call myself by the surname Feng. I will stand by those who respect and stand by me! Furthermore, you are my most important person besides my own family. How could I just leave you?"

Feng Yun was absolutely firm in this principle. He was no coward. He would not just abandon his friends for his own selfish reasons. That was morally unacceptable for Feng Yun. Hearing this, Xia Qing was shocked and touched to the bottom of her heart. A warm feeling arose within her heart and her chest heaved up and down. She wanted to cover her embarrassed face so she buried her head in Feng Yun's shoulder. The boy was surprised but smiled as she did so.

"Idiot, you do realize that you may die right?"

"Haha, whether I live or die, I shall do it all while alongside my most important people. If fate wants me to live, then I will live. However, if the heavens have a reason for punishing me, then if I ever reincarnate, I will destroy them!" Feng Yun was incomparably resolute and carefree. He didn't speak such words lightly, but with a great sincerity. Suddenly, a voice entered Feng Yun's head.

"Tch, such bold statements kid, but you could probably do it. Luckily for you, there isn't a need to go through such trouble."

Warden, Feng Yun thought with surprise. He hadn't expected the prison guarding being to suddenly speak in his mind. He felt quite angry in his heart, but also helpless. The being had his own methods of doing things, and he had apparently never found the need to aid Feng Yun.

"Warden, why the hell are you talking now? Where were you when I was having my ass handed to me?" Feng Yun mentally sent to Warden. The being chuckled and said,

"Trust me, I predicted everything. Besides, you have much more protection than you think. There are people that want you to live and become someone great. You wouldn't have been harmed even if things escalated to an extreme level." Feng Yun was confused. What did he mean by that?

"Don't worry about what I am saying. Just wait for a little bit and help will arrive."

Feng Yun shook his head and decided to trust Warden's judgement this time. He quickly turned his head to look at Zhou Guan, whose face was like an erupting volcano of indignation and shame.

"That's it! I have had enough of this. I will get rid of the threat once and for all...personally."

Zhou Guan flew into the air and instantly, a commanding presence swept through the atmosphere. A powerful pressure pressed down on the entire group of people. Everyone felt a suffocating feeling in their bodies, excluding Du Gu Yang and Du Gu Chen, who was being protected by his father. Feng Yun, who was originally leaning on his sword, now felt his body pressing deeper and deeper into the ground. He wrapped his arms around Xia Qing to bear the brunt of the pressure. The girl felt his arms around her and instantly knew what he was doing. She tried to protest against it but Feng Yun was adamant in keeping her safe.

"Die Feng Yun!"

Zhou Guan sneered at the boy and instantly materialized a large amount of earthen yellowish elemental energy. The energy revolved around his palm as he charged more and more power into it. Then, he shot the concentrated amount of energy at Feng Yun, going straight for the kill.

"Warden, now would be a good time for the help you said was coming!"

Suddenly, around Feng Yun's chest area, a symbol emerged and a transparent image flew into the air. The symbol had the characters of a name on it and purple colored letters on it. The symbol seemed to emanate power and authority and Zhou Guan's attack dissipated completely. The man was left standing there, dumbfounded, staring at the symbols. Not only him, even Du Gu Yang was shocked, his mouth hanging open. The two simultaneously yelled,

"A Holy Imprint?!!!"
