Kazuto held his armored hands tightly over his ears, but that did nothing to block out the deafening sound. His eyes were squeezed shut as he huddled on the ground waiting for the terrible noise to abate, feeling his skull vibrating from the volume that the voice was speaking at. He slowly brought his hands away from his ears, no longer able to hear anything, and looked around with wild eyes. His regeneration activated a moment later, and he suddenly was able to hear the awful silence of the room. The palms of his white gauntlets were stained with his blood.

"What the fuck wa—"

Contrary to his expectations, the insanely loud old lady's voice didn't say anything to reply to his thoughts, which he was now certain were being read somehow. "Hello?" he called.

There was no reply.

Kazuto let out a sound of frustration. "I'm going to kill this Carl g—"

His eyes screwed shut and his ears bleeding once more, Kazuto screamed.
