Looking over at Trista who was stuffing her mouth full of candy apples, Reno wondered where the usual Trista had gone.
“Mmhhmm~~ These are so good!”
As Trista was about to scarf down her 20th apple, Kenric grabbed it out of her hand.
“Don’t you see everyone staring at us taking up the line?”
“We can come back for more later so chill off them for now.”
Trista was annoyed but after looking at the line of angry people behind them, she knew they couldn’t stay any longer.
“Fuck it! We’ll just spin by the stall before we leave.”
Reno was nibbling on his candy apple and wondering when they were going to patrol the area.
Before when they were walking to the main road, Trista had told him what she had arranged.
For the two of them to be assistant guards for the night so Reno could better discover a cause.
She had told him that even if he wanted to join any bad people in their crimes he could.
However, the stare Kenric gave him after Trista brought up the idea didn’t let him consider it, even if it was a joke.
Reno knew that Trista was trying her best so he didn’t mind going along with the whole thing.
Along the way, Kenric had even told him that what the guards did was not anything complicated.
One set of guards patrols the inside while another set patrols the outside.
They would be the inside set while another set of guards would help them patrol the premises.
After some time to two would meet up and swap and then rinse and repeat.
Reno thought they were going to take the guard duty seriously but based on what they had done for the last few minutes.
He was mistaken.
The overall formula for the last 30 minutes or so since they had arrived was :
Trista or Reno sees interesting things, Trista does interesting things, Trista gets obsessed with said things and then Kenric reminds her we have places to be.

Did Reno mind it though? No.
Seeing the Trista that wasn’t holding back and having fun or cursing with every sentence was a rare sight so Reno was fine with her acting like a kid.
If anything it was Kenric getting annoyed at the two of them Trista was acting like a kid and Reno was just letting it happen.
Looking at the both of them, Kenric let out a breath of turbid air.
‘These two are in university, right? Why does it feel like I’m the most mature one here?’
To give Kenric some credit, the Trista he knew wasn’t the one that Reno was familiar with.
Under the watchful eyes of the academy she had to restrain herself or she would have her mother to deal with.
Looking around for some more fun activities to do, Trista landed upon a big wheel with colors.
“Step up and spin the wheel for the chance of a grand prize! Winners can choose from anything in the bin.”
“All prizes cost over 100 eens as well! Just 5 eens to enter!”
Seeing this made Reno realize that even in other worlds, you still have dumbasses like this who try to advertise gambling as a game.
One look at Trista and Reno realized that they were gonna get dragged to play the game.
Kenric was going to stop her but before he could even get a word out, the three had already reached the stand.
20 minutes later and not only was Trista 500 eens poorer but she also seemed to lose faith in the world.
She turned to Reno.
“Reno… If not atoms of them are less then can they still find out if I’m the killer?”
Reno smiled.
‘You know what. I’m not even entertaining this thought.’
“You win some, you lose some Trista.”
“We have to switch out with the next guard team soon, let’s start heading back from now.”
“We might even be able to get a couple of candy apples on the way, my treat.”
Hearing this, Trista calmed down.
Reno and Kenric let out a sigh and then the group began walking back to the candy apple stall.
After waiting for around five minutes, Trista was ready to make her order but before she could.
Someone came flying straight into the candy apple stall crushing all the apples and tearing down the entire thing.
Seeing this, Trista fell on her knees.
For most people, something like this would mean that they’re struck by grief or very unhappy.
Reno and Kendric though.
They knew that someone was about to get their generational ass beating.
Knowing it was better to not delay the as- rescue attempt in case the person needed immediate medical help.
The two rushed over to see who had launched and asked them what happened.
Seems to have noticed something.
Trista got up and shouted something at the two.
“Both of you, dodge out of the way right now!”
Kenric was baffled for a split second but listened to Trista and dodged out of the way towards where they were coming from.
Reno didn’t hesitate at all and dodged in the way of where the person had fallen.
Not even one second later, a yellow man over 10 feet tall stomped on where the two had been.
Not only destroying whatever remains the stall had along with the ground but also sending an aftershock of wind to those in the surrounding area.
Reno who had landed on the unconscious guard due to the wind aftershock was observing the yellow giant.
The attire he had on seemed like an old-fashioned noble from the 1600s
With items such as a Cricone hat and breeches on.
Reno also noticed that on the shoulder of the giant man was a group of five people.
The strange thing was that of these five people, the men looked the same and so did the women.
The only thing that differed was the marking on their foreheads.
This led Trista, Reno, and Kenric to the same conclusion without fail.
“““This group of people must be druids!!”””
