The first thing Cassia did was point her right finger at someone in the group of people.
“Koa was doing her best to protect Reno.”
“She didn't deserve to be manhandled by you all.”
This person was carrying the unconscious Koa on her back.
She then slightly swiped her finger to the right.
[Etta’s Enchanting Technique: Air Shift]
Before the group could even comprehend what was going on.
Cassia reached over to where Koa was and checked to see if she was alright.
The girl that had been carrying Koa on her shoulder then cried out in pain.
“AAAAAHHHH!”
The rest of the group turned to look at what had happened and became horrified at what they saw.
A whole chunk of their friend’s shoulder was ripped out with blood gushing out like a fountain.
Along with that, the sight of the girl trying to stop the blood gushing out of her shoulder, made them realize that her entire hand was gone.
Blood was also gushing out of where her hand was.
Seeing this, Patrina acted.
She quickly ran over to where the girl was.
Upon arriving, she would use a technique on Cassia, only to realize that she was not there.
She looked all around the place until she spotted Cassia and Koa suspended in the air right above them.
Ignoring them, however, she went over to the girl who was bleeding out and issued her a healing potion.
On the outside, it looked as if Patrina had everything under control but on the inside, she was close to fainting.
“Fuck Flora! Fuck me! Fuck This!”
“Her range is also unreal!”
Most people think that psychics and mages are similar in the fact that they use energy to cause phenomena in the world.
That it’s fair to chalk them up to the same thing.
While some parts of the two are similar, psychics could not be considered the same as a mage at all.
Mages are those who use energy to conjure things that deal with elements that exist in the world.
Things such as fire, water, wind, earth and more.
Psychics were those who used raw energy to interact with the world around them and cause changes to it.
For mages.
Things such as casting time, energy reserves, and the amount of techniques one knows are considered vital.
This somewhat differed for psychics.
Casting time was little to none for most skills, arts, and techniques.
Most moves didn’t use energy reserves and most psychics preferred not to know too many techniques.
The things that all psychics considered important were the ability to work hard, the range that their energy could travel, and also their calculation ability.
Psychics have to use raw energy and as raw energy was like trying to code in binary, they had to grind and keep at it before any solid results could be seen.
The range that their energy could travel was linked to this and was considered important.
The more range someone had, the more useful their abilities could be.
And lastly would be calculation ability.
Psychics might have had few skills but knowing when to use them was vital.
Along with the fact that most of these skills needed to be activated at the opportune time.
This meant that psychics who were able to stay calm under pressure were taken much more seriously than those who could not.
Patrina knew all this and this was the reason she was freaking out.
Not only did Cassia embody calm and collected but the girl she had attacked was at least 10 meters away from her.
Of all the psychics that Patrina knew, only those who were at least C rank could reach that range.
As such, she knew that trying to fight Cassia would only lead to them losing healing potions along with the chance of them dying if she got pissed off.
While checking out if Koa was right, Cassia found many bruises and marks on Koa’s skin.
Cassia didn’t get angry but the air around her went through a small change.
“Who’s responsible for hurting Koa?”
Seeing what had happened to their other friend, the girls who had fought Koa had cold sweat run down their necks.
Patrina was scared but raised her hand while smiling.
“It was me! But, I’ll have you know that my family is backed by an original family.”
“If you don’t want to get into trouble then you’ll dismiss this matter at once and we’ll forget all of this happened.”
Patrina was half-lying.
It wasn’t her family that was backed by an original family but her sister had married someone who had relations with an original family.
She knew that this might cause her trouble down the line but she didn’t care.
‘This girl is much too strong. If none of us don’t talk up then we might end up getting crippled or even killed.’
‘If I can somehow bluff our way out of the situation then even if my sister gets angry then it’s for the best.’
Hearing this, Cassia sighed and then put one of her feet over the other.
Patrina was wondering if Cassia was crazy.
‘Is this girl psycho? Even some S-rankers would turn courteous if you threatened them with an original family.
'I don’t believe that it won’t work on you.’
Seeing how the situation was turning out for the worse.
Flora needed to tell Patrina something so she wouldn’t be blamed later.
“Patrina… Actually…”
“The person that you’re talking to is Cassia Arwen.”
Patrina was dumbfounded, baffled, and terrified all at the same time.
‘Did she say?, Cassia Arwen?’
“Eh?”
[Etta’s Enchanting Technique: Air Burst]
Patrina didn’t even get any chance to put up a defensive skill, art, or technique as she was hit with a burst of air at her side.
This launched her to the right of the hallway and made her want to puke.
She didn’t get any time to rest, however, as another burst of air hit her side and she was launched back into the middle of the corridor.
Patrina felt like her insides were getting scrambled like eggs.
She felt like her body was giving up on her.
‘Gah! I feel like dying but after getting those lucky shots in, I won’t be hit anymore’
[Etta’s Enchanting Technique: Air Shift]
‘You don’t think that you’re the only one who knows Etta’s technique, do you?’
Cassia’s facial expression didn’t change but some air left her nose.
As if to show that she was disappointed at what she was seeing.
When Patrina was about to land back on the ground, Cassia stopped her in place.
[Etta’s Enchanting Technique: Air Lock]
This was when another burst of air hit Patrina.
Launching her up into the ceiling, scrambling her insides some more.
Cassia then sighed.
“I was going to kill you outright for hurting Koa but I changed my mind.”
“If you can escape from the combination of techniques I set on you then I’ll let you live.”
“I hope you don’t bore me.”
Patrina had originally resigned herself to her fate but hearing that there was a chance, she resolved herself to do her best.
Around a minute later, she regretted having this thought.
‘This is fucking unreal! Am I dreaming!? Is there no escape!?’
At first, Cassia was only using air bursts to toss Patrina around.
When she made the bet with Patrina however, she stopped playing around.
If Patrina got hit with an air burst then she tried to shift herself out of the way.
This would end up with her getting locked in place and then getting hit with the air burst either way.
She then tried looking for patterns but Cassia picked up on this and started stringing different combos along.
Air locking then shifting Patrina into an air burst.
Air bursting and then when Patrina shifted she would lock her in place and then cast two air bursts instead of one.
Cassia’s face even changed a bit to show that she had started to enjoy the fight.
What the group of girls were seeing though.
Was less of a fight and more of Patrina being tossed around like a ragdoll.
