Reno came back to his dorm room haggardly used his small remaining brainpower to open the door to his dorm and slowly limped inside.
Cassia was sitting down on the couch and drinking tea while studying for one of her classes. Hearing the door open, she quietly greeted Reno.
“Uhm, W-welcome back Reno…”
Reno was exhausted so he didn’t even register what Cassia was saying, even though he wouldn’t have heard it either way due to how low Cassia said the greeting.
He just slowly walked into the room and then fell onto the couch and accidentally into Cassia’s lap.
Cassia was startled. “Uhh!? Wuh!? R-Reno…?”
She quickly got up and then Reno just fell onto the couch and passed out.
Cassia calmed herself down and then shook Reno a bit, trying to wake him up. It took a few tries but Reno eventually opened his eyes.
“What? Where am I? Oh, I’m back at the dorm, thank goodness”
He then sat up straight on the couch. Cassia was looking at Reno as if he was crazy.
“Reno… Are you feeling alright, are you sick or something? Y-You can tell me if anything’s wrong you know?”
Hearing this, Reno flinched and started holding his muscles as if he was cold.
“All over, it hurt all over. crazy lady and some weird potion.”
Cassia was confused. ‘What is Reno talking about’
When Reno finished his initial running exercises by pushing himself, Trista continued. She then made him lift weights, block steel balls in the training rooms, and do other types of training while he had the grey potion in his system.
He was fully recovered after each exercise but his mental strength was barely able to get him through the day. Frankly, it was a miracle that he was even able to make it to his dorm room.

Cassia then tried to rub Reno’s head to see if he felt a bit better after some consolement.
“There, there Reno, you’re back in your dorm with your friend Cassia, it’s all good here.”
Reno did feel a bit better after this, but it didn’t do much to help him. He still felt as if the painful spasms were in his body and the thought that he would have to do it again the next day made Reno dread going back to the academy gym.
Reno then got up and headed to his dorm’s training room. “I’ll be doing some daily skill training, you know where to find me”
Hearing this Cassia nodded still feeling a bit worried about Reno.
Reno’s mental strength was just about used up but as he wasn’t exactly the one in control during his focus skill, he thought that using it to train would be fine.
“Missing a day of using the focus skill would be dumb, especially when it’s such an easy yet effective way of getting stronger.”
Reno was initially going to check his combat evaluation sheet to see how efficient the traumatizing training he went through was but decided to just do it the next morning to see his skill growth at the same time.
‘I have two hours now, should I try training my stab skill so I have one extra tool in my arsenal or try to max out one of the skills I’ve already trained.’
Reno ended up going with the parry skill. Honestly, it was the skill he used the most even though he got it like a day ago.
Cut and Stab were attacking skills but as he didn’t have any energy, he was pretty sure the damage they would deal would be minimal unless their proficiency level was high.
Quickstep was also a good pick but he still deemed Parry as more important.
‘Wait… I’ve never tried training two different skills at once. I’m such a dumbass, let me try and see if it works
Reno activated his focus skills.
[Focus Skill: Assign a Task]
‘Train both my cut and parry skill at the same time’
[Error: Parry’s movements counteract with the Cut skill's movements, the task of training both at the same time is deemed impossible, assign a different task]
Reno was astounded, he didn’t think it would work, he was angry at himself for never trying this out before and just taking the focus skill at face value.
Since it said a task, he thought it could only be a singular thing, but looking at the fact it’s a ‘task’ he could add more things into one thing and let that be a task.
‘I wonder though, does that mean I can allocate time for two different tasks’
Thinking that his idea could work, he started the focus skill up again.
[Focus Skill: Assign a Task]
‘Could I allocate 1 hour to training parry and the other to training cut?’
[Focus skill is starting, Time allocated: 2 hours, Task: To train parry and cut]
Reno was ecstatic. “It’s working!”
Having only two hours though, it would most likely be better if he had just trained one skill instead of two but finding out he could do this was the main discovery of the day.
When his focus skill had reached a higher level and he had 10 or even 20 hours at his disposal then he could theoretically max out some of his skills as soon as he got them.
Something like that would have to be done when he wasn’t in the academy however as he didn’t have 10 - 20 hours just lying around.
As usual, as soon as the focus skill started, Reno became a spectator in his body and his body started to move and train the two skills that focus was assigned.
While Reno was in his cloud 9 state, however, he felt that the mental fatigue that he had gathered due to training was slowly dissipating, as if the state that he was in was washing away all the impurities in his mind.
Reno was surprised again. "It even has an effect like this!? I just thought that being in the focus state was relaxing but not actually that it was clearing away my mental fatigue"
