Chapter 33 : The Three Aspects Of Blacksmithing, The Current State of Artificial Energy Manipulation

As soon as Reno entered the room, he started to cough.

‘So much black smoke in here’

Trista breathed in the smoke showing that she was used to the atmosphere.

“Follow me Reno, let me show you the ropes. Don’t touch anything and observe for now”

Trista then walked to a rectangular outline in the wall with different pieces of a sword.

Trista then took off her gloves and her hands began to radiate energy.

“It’s called the blacksmithing course but to be honest."

"We’re more like assemblers than actual blacksmiths.”

“If you want, you can learn how actually to create the components like a true blacksmith would.”

“But in all honesty, unless you can be more precise than machinery then this is bound to be the best way to do what we do.”

Trista then touched all the components that were on the side of the wall.

This caused each of them to start floating in the air.

Trista then got up and started rummaging through a gray bin that was on the right side of the room.

"Make sure to listen to what I'm saying Reno."

“Firstly, I’m using my energy to do this one.

"My energy control is high enough level, yours most likely is lower than the gloves you're wearing.”

“Secondly, when blacksmithing or assembling or whatever you decide to call it."

"We are blending or putting together three important components.”

“The Physical Aspect which would be the different weapon pieces."

"The Special Aspect or Phenomenon Aspect which some consider optional would be this.”

Trista raised her hand out of the Grey bin to show a light blue feather that was on fire in a glass case.

Trista then walked back over to the outline on the wall.

“This is the feather of a monster that the demon race tame for warfare, you might have heard of them before.

"They're called Api Biru Phoenixes.”

She then smiled. “This will be the main ingredient for today’s blacksmithing session.”

Reno’s face went pale.

‘Api Biru! Aren’t those Rank 2 monsters!? Even their feathers should go for astronomical prices.’

Seeing the expression on Reno’s face, Trista chuckled.

“Good Reaction, You need to know that you’re trainer and mentor isn’t any random person! The Ace family don’t skimp out on those we like.”

“You’ve caught my interest Reno and as such, something like this is small, see it as a drop in a well.”

Reno felt some chills down his spine. ‘Caught Interest!? This should be a good thing but my gut is telling me otherwise.’

Trista then carried over two stools to where the outline in the wall was.

“Sit down Reno, we’ll be going over the third and most important aspect while the sword is being assembled.”

“We’ll be covering the Mental Aspect or the aspect of Emotion and Feelings”

Reno was a bit confused. “Aren’t we using energy to put it together, what do emotions and feelings have to do with something like this?”

Trista sat cross-legged on her stool. The parts of the sword and the feather started to spin around her in a circle.

“I didn’t expect you to know but make sure to listen to what I’m about to say.”

“Most People believe that emotion doesn’t impact energy manipulation and output but that’s a lie.”

“While Energy Manipulation and output will never fall below a certain threshold."

"When one can control their different emotions such as anger or sorrow"

"Is when one can see the true impact emotion has on energy and how one manipulates it.”

“This is better for you to experience yourself. Turn on your gloves.”

Reno was baffled but followed either way. He knew that Trista was not someone you would want to annoy by saying ifs and buts.

To him, she seemed easily irritable. He would never say that out loud though.

Something he also knew though, was that she would never assign anything impossible.

When he trained with her before.

She seemed attentive to both his physical and mental state.

She was always making sure that he would never go beyond a point where the training would bring harm.

When Reno turned his gloves on, energy began to flow from them as if they were fossets and he had turned on their taps.

‘If only something like this could give me back the ability to use energy.’

The gloves that Reno had on were like the smartwatch he always used.

"They were similar in the aspect that they went by the system of efficient energy input and output."

Reno was considered to be in the age of energy innovation but even so...

Something that would allow those without vital cores to manipulate energy for combat use is still considered a pipe dream.

Researchers themselves deemed that they were not even at the surface level of understanding how vital cores worked.

The most notable breakthroughs would be tools like the gloves and his smartwatch.

Both of them used energy to run in the form of batteries.

The thing was that the amount of energy used was so minuscule that it could not even equate to 1% of a baby's energy pool.

That meant that Reno’s vital core being gone was permanent and the chances of it having a chance to recover were 0.

Snapping Reno out of his thoughts, Trista continued.

“Now listen closely Reno."

"The easiest way to grasp the Emotional aspect of blacksmithing is to feel those emotions yourself.

"You must also observe the changes in your energy manipulation and output and strive to replicate them.”

"To do this quickly and easily."

“I’ll be telling you a bit about my past. Also, I don’t need any sympathetic comments about my childhood.”

“All I ask is that you listen, feel, and embrace your emotions"

"Always remember that it’s due to them that you’re human after all.”

Reno nodded.

Trista then began to tell Reno about her childhood and the circumstances that led to her choosing to become a blacksmith.
