Sometime after someone else returned he had received a message on his watch that was tagged SOS. It read, “Getting chased by a vampire, no time for details, help needed ASAP”

This shocked Ryan, vampires were not small fries.

Being a B+ ranker he had defeated some barons and even come in contact with some viscounts before.

If he had to describe them in one or two words, he would go with ‘unkillable cockroaches’

With the ability of a high healing capacity and quick recovery speed, they were also able to use blood to increase their strength via the manipulation of their blood or the blood of others.

Wasting no time, Ryan opened his teacher map and pinpointed the location of Reno as he was running through the forest.

While on the teacher’s map he also noticed that some students in the vicinity were not moving which further worried him. He was skeptical about there being vampires but if anyone died on his watch, he’d forget the guilt, his getting fired would be considered a light punishment.

After using a mage skill, he flew as fast as he could toward where Reno.

Upon arriving, he saw that Reno was almost attacked by someone going at crazy speeds.

Seeing this, he made sure to attack first, after he attacked the person who was giving chase hid behind some trees.

Ryan wasn’t sure about what was fully going on but he got the idea that the person giving chase wasn’t trying to help out his student.

Wasting no time, Ryan cast a shield around Reno using one of the combat techniques he knew of. For mage combatants, the more combat techniques one knew, the better.

Combatants who wielded cold weapons usually just stuck to one and did their best to master it, only switching out when little to no progress was being made.

Combat techniques, while they are skills, are classified differently as they are a bit different due to the fact they contain more than one ability.

To make it very simple, combat arts are equal to one basic ability such as Reno’s parry being able to deflect damage or the vampire’s ability to strengthen a weapon using a blood art.

Combat techniques, however, have more than one ability. The combat technique that Ryan was using not only could not only grant him flight but was able to even conjure a shield.

Kian surveying the situation was doing his best to erase his presence while cursing on the inside.

‘Fuck! It just had to be a mage, I should have just killed the boy when I had the chance, I can’t believe I made the fucking power get to my head

‘I need to find a way to get in close range so I can kill the teacher if he goes back to the academy then it’s over for me’

Kian thought that by doing his best to erase his presence, Ryan would have to take some time to find him but he was wrong.

Unlike detection which had to be in contact with some surface, Energy Radar could be used as long as the user had enough energy in his vital core to use it.

Using Energy Radar, Ryan looked around and easily found where Kian was.

Kian’s intuition or something close to a sixth sense had increased when he turned into a vampire and seemed to be ringing alarm bells at him.

Trusting his gut, he decided to take the chance and change his hiding place but before he could even move some more inches, a blade of wind had already destroyed the trees around him and removed his arm.

He expected it to hurt like hell, but in some seconds, an arm the same as the exact previous one grew back.

Seeing how fast his healing speed was, he made sure to run away some distance before hiding behind some more trees. He knew that the mage had a way of finding him but the trees served as a cover for the time being.

Seeing the recovery speed of the arm, Ryan’s face contorted in annoyance.

‘It is a vampire, looks like this is going to be an annoying situation. I can’t even request any help as rifts block out any inside communication to the outside.”

If Ryan left then the vampire would most likely just kill the students and try to escape.

Seeing how the vampire couldn’t dodge his windblade, he assumed that the vampire had to be at baron rank.

It would take him some time to kill even a baron-rank vampire but for his student’s lives, no time would be too long for him to wait.

Ryan then took off the staff that he had on his back.

Using the same ability, Ryan easily found where Kian was. To his surprise, however, Kian was running straight towards him.

Not knowing what he was thinking, Ryan took the initiative to attack.

‘If he wants to come straight to me then I’m not going to stop him’

After activating his technique, around ten water bodies that were shaped like spears were made and then shot in the direction that Kian was in.

As soon as the ten spears were shot though, more were made and then this cycle continued. In some seconds, a good chunk of the forest that Reno had just run through was destroyed.

Trees were uprooted, leaves were everywhere and chunks of the ground seemed to be missing.

Seeing the pure devastation that had only happened in less than a minute, Reno was dumbfounded.

“This is what a B-ranker can do!? If I was the one that was aimed at then chances are not even a molecule of me would be left behind.

Kian was also dumbfounded, he thought that he could just run through a few attacks before taking some time to regenerate so he could rinse and repeat but he didn’t expect the mage to just straight up try and send him to the afterlife from the start.

Ryan who could now clearly see the vampire that was some feet away from him and his originally annoyed face turned to shock.

“Teacher Kian!?”
