Getting the Sword Registered, Meeting the Head of Student Council
The moment that blacksmithing class was over.
Trista dragged Reno to the training room to do his daily training.
After which she followed him to the student council to help him register ‘Unfair Maiden.’
By doing this he could carry it around in the academy and even use it in certain competitions.
When Reno and Trista reached the student council,
Different from how it usually went when only Reno was there.
The student council members, upon seeing Trista told her to wait for a short while.
They then scurried off like rats.
Reno smiled. ‘Looks like I’m getting special treatment courtesy of Trista today.’
2 minutes later, someone brought Reno and Trista into the main office of the student council.
Upon entering, Reno and Trista were greeted by a lady with white hair.
“Long time no see Trista, what do you need today?”
Trista sighed. “I’m not here for anything important”
She then pointed to one of the swords on Reno’s waist.
“I need you to register a blade for Reno Mochizuki.”
Mae nodded. “Sure thing.”
Mae then ordered the person who had guided Reno and Trista to go get the paperwork.
Seeing the entire interaction play out, Reno was dumbfounded.
‘I've always heard rumors about how the adviser of the student council is usually strict and stern.'
'But for some reason, she’s being so down to earth and tame in front of Trista!? '
‘Along with that, Trista is not being pushy and bossy like usual.’
Seeing Reno’s dumbfounded gaze, Trista explained.
“I can already imagine what you’re thinking. All you need to know is that Teacher Mae and I are friends.”
Reno nodded. He wasn’t here to dig up stuff that did not concern him.
Hearing Reno and Trista’s conversation. Mae was curious about how they met each other and why Trista liked Reno so much.
‘Trista liking someone is rare. To go to these lengths to help him out is also something she was baffled by.’
Mae had been the main backer for Trista from when she was a freshman in the academy.
Over time, the two who shared a similar mindset bonded and decided to respect each other.
In the academy, Mae could be said to be Trista’s closest friend.
‘I’m curious but it’s better to find out their relationship myself.'
'He should also be the one that the Imogens are after who Rosa wanted to protect from what the student council members told me.’
‘I need to find out more about him.’
The student came back a short while later with the required documents.
After giving the required information and proof of ownership, ‘Grieving Maiden’ was all good to go.
When Reno received confirmation that all the procedures were finished.
He and Trista said goodbye to Mae and then left the student council office.
It was late in the night so Reno said his goodbyes to Trista and was about to leave before he got a light smack on his head.
“With that damn bounty on your heady, it’s too dangerous. I’ll drop you back at your dorm. Send me the location.”
Reno’s eyes widened in shock. ‘Trista seems to have become a bit more protective of me after blacksmithing class. No reason to refuse her offer though.’
Reno sent Trista the address via his smart watch and the two then began walking to his dorm.
Trista made sure to hold Reno’s hand tight and was on guard for any bounty hunters.
Getting his hands held by Trista, Reno thought that her hands would be soft but he was wrong.
Her hands felt rough like sandpaper.
‘She must have been training hard for her hands to turn out like this.’
Reno looked down at his hand. It was much softer than Trista’s own but was much rougher than when he had arrived in the world.
‘The original Reno didn’t seem to do much training and relied on his energy and sword art but I’ll make sure to change that!’
[Back at the Student Council]
Sitting across from Mae in her office was Rosa Lina.
When Mae had sent the student council member to get Reno, she had asked him to also call Rosa Lina into her office.
Rosa Lina was tense but did her best not to show it.
“May I ask why teacher Mae has called me into her office?”
Mae was rummaging through a pile of documents, showing minimal attention to Rosa.
“I heard that you were going to report something about Reno Mochizuki yesterday to me.
'But I was at a staff meeting so you didn’t get the chance.”
“I also hear that you know the boy. I want you to tell me all that you know about him. Don’t leave anything out.”
Rosa Lina gulped. When she met with the student council advisor, she always felt a sort of pressure from her.
One that felt like she would die if she dared to sprinkle in even the tiniest of lies.
“Yes ma’am!”
“I wanted to report that yesterday me and my brother were escorting Reno to his dorm room but were stopped by Buggi Farrel and Marlene Aelis.”
“From what we heard, some bounty hunters were stopped by them. Buggi also talked to Reno about some deal that they had in place.”
“Our two sides then engaged in combat for a brief period before they left with my brother feeling injured from using his strongest move.”
Mae’s eyes perked up. ‘Not just Trista but even Buggi and Marlene are involved. Those two act according to their interests in the academy.’
‘What’s so special about this boy that not only is Trista, a mage prodigy is willing to protect him along with someone from an original family like Buggi.’
Mae put down the documents she was sorting.
“Anything else I should know, Rosa?”
Rosa nodded before continuing.
“Along with that, some days ago Reno was in the infirmary for his vital core getting destroyed.”
Hearing this, Mae finally understood Trista’s relationship with Reno. She could only estimate why Buggi would be interested in Reno though.
Mae nodded her head before going back to her documents.
“Good work Rosa. Also, next time you want to escort someone, make sure that I know. I’ll excuse you for yesterday on behalf of Trista but not next time.”
“I know that you’re not familiar with political power or the type but you escorting Reno could be seen as us protecting him by others.”
“Am I understood?”
Rosa bowed her head before responding.
“Understood!”
Mae then waved her hand indicating that Rosa should leave her office.
“I’ll need to keep an eye on that Reno boy now. For Trista’s sake.”
