Reno was sitting in what seemed to be an interrogation room.

After he and Ryan had escaped, he got some time to rest.

After a short while, some members of the student council came up to him and requested his help to find out what had happened.

Before he knew it, the help turned into a full interrogation.

He also thought that he might be imagining it but it felt as if some of the student council members were being biased towards him.

From what he had inferred while getting interrogated, it had something to do with Rosa Lina.

Upon his arrival, Rosa had been sticking to Reno like glue and it seemed as if the student council did not like this.

He had only met Rosa once but for some reason, she seemed to take a liking to him or something of the sort.

Reno sighed. ‘I almost died due to a teacher turned vampire but these people seem to care less about that and more about Rosa’

‘Reno would be lying if he said he wasn’t also curious about why Rosa was sticking to him through’

He looked over to the girl sitting across the grey interrogation table. She was putting away papers she had used to note what Reno was saying.

Before he could say anything about Rosa’s closeness though, Rosa spoke.

“Alright, Reno! That’s all that we will need from you about this incident."

"Thanks for being cooperative and helpful even though we must be strict. This matter is important after all.”

Reno nodded. “If anything I give can help out another student in the future then I don’t mind some strictness”

Rosa was happy knowing that Reno was open-minded about the entire thing.

She then got up and got close to Reno before whispering something in his ear.

“Also, I need to inform you of something relating to the case of your vital core being destroyed.”

Reno’s face tensed up.

Even though he was skeptical that the people responsible would be in deep water.

He was fine with even a light punishment as he had his get-back in mind when the time came.

Rosa then continued.

“I’m sorry but what I’m going to tell you isn’t classified information or anything."

"Even so, I’d be grateful if you don’t go around saying I told you this”

“Your two assailants. Lena and her assistant, Evander are being set to go to the academy’s jail.

Something like is a serious crime but in the end, all it amounted to was somebody doubles going to the academy’s jail for them.”

“Along with that, a trusted friend of mine told me that there’s a bounty on your head."

"Whoever kills you will get an audience with the Imogen family”

Reno was abysmal!? ‘The Imogen Family!? Lena must be an alias. When she said that her dad couldn’t get her out, she must have been playing around with me

‘I’m guessing she didn’t plan to let me off in the beginning and was the type that likes to play with her food before ending its misery’

The Imogen family was well known to almost any and everywhere who had access to even basic technology.

They were one of the original families founded when rifts were being discovered for the first time.

Their influence spanned into even rank 4 rifts like where Reno came from.

From what Reno knew, they were run on a matriarchy where the women had more power than the men.

This could be why the burly guy was the one following Lena instead of it being the other way around.

‘I’m not sure of what Lena’s position in the family is but if she can promise an audience then she has to be in some position of power’

Having finished what she wanted to say, Rosa stopped whispering and put a big smile on her face.

“I know it might feel overwhelming or like your life’s over Reno but fear not, I am here to help”

“Say the word and I’ll make sure to help you out as much as I can!”

Reno wasn’t overwhelmed, he was more stunned about how shitty his luck was. ‘Fuck this! If life was something written by some author, he must hate me.’

‘First Lena, then vampire and now Lena again, It's like I'm living next door to death at this point’

Reno got up. “Thanks, Rosa, I’d appreciate it. I don’t think I’m strong enough to deal with some bounty by a big family at this moment.”

Rosa smiled and grabbed his hand leading him outside the interrogation room. “No problem, it’s helping out others like you that makes me enjoy being on the student council.”

“Wait here in the hallway, I’m going to get my brother and some supplies to cover up your face. You aren’t especially handsome or anything like that so I’m sure you will be easy to mask up”

Reno put his hand on his face. “Sorry that I’m not handsome or anything of the sort, at least it’s helpful”

Rosa got a bit red. “I didn’t mean it like that, I meant that it’ll be easy for you to disguise yourself”

Reno put down his hand which showed the grin on his face. “I know, I’m just playing around”

Rosa pinched Reno on his arm and then stormed off to find her brother.

When she left, Reno let out a big sigh. ‘I must have inherited the bad luck of two people minus the good luck.’

‘The thing, I’m more curious about is why the teachers and academy staff never seem to do jack, all they do is exist. Teachers seem to have the same attitude anywhere you go.’

[In the Principal’s Office]

The secretary next to the principal had a look of unease on her face. “Principal Clyde are you not going to take down the bounty made by the girl from the Imogen family?”

“Doesn’t it look bad on our academy to allow someone from a powerful family to boss us around the place?”

Clyde was massaging his temples. “I’m aware of the situation. If it was anyone from the Imogen family then I would not have even allowed it to go up in the first place.”

“We have some leeway, even when regarding the 5 original families."

"The problem is that the girl is the daughter of someone from the Imogen family’s main branch.

"If we side with the boy in this situation then we risk our academy getting destroyed for one student”

“To make it worse, from what we know, the boy has lost his vital core, he should be happy that we haven’t kicked him out yet due to his tuition being paid”

“Whether he survives or not is in his own hands at this point."

"The best we can do is stop anything related to the situation that puts the other students in harm’s way.”

The secretary was still uneasy but decided to end it there.

[In Lena’s dorm Room]

There was a line of female students that were lined up next to the gigantic wall of the mansion that she lived inside. Most of them had looks of fear on their face.

Lena had been angry for a while since hearing about the fact that she was sentenced to spending time in academy jail.

She was furious due to this.

To make it worse, the person that caused it to happen was someone she considered as insignificant as the farts of a pet dog her servant had.

“Urrgh” Under Lena was a woman in a white uniform with blood all over her due to what she had gone through.

Lena then stomped on the bloodied woman. “Damn it! Insignificant waste of fucking air! I let that guy, whatever his name is, live for a while longer and this is how the bastard repays me!”

She then continued to stomp on the bloodied woman while aiming for her face as much as she could. “Even elites in other academies wouldn’t dare retaliate! But someone thinks he’s a hotshot huh?”

After seeing that the woman couldn’t take anymore, Lena stopped standing on her almost lifeless body with blood all around it.

“Heal this one and pay her. Make sure to bring the next one over when you’re finished, Evander.”

A burly man that was standing in the room with his face turned to the wall turned around and then bowed.

After which, he scrapped the lady off the ground, much to the dismay of the women standing against the wall.

He fed her a healing potion before using his smartwatch to transfer a total of 3 credits to the lady. He then let a servant of the mansion escort her to the mansion’s exit.

When he finished doing all that, he went to the wall with all the women against it and chose a girl who had lime hair. Her features were impeccable and her face could pass for any model that Reno had seen before.

If someone from the earth were to see the wall with ladies against it.

They would be stunned as every woman that was leaning against it looked like a model.

Both their figures and faces proved this.

Evander then carried the woman to where Lena was and flung her onto the ground.

Before the woman had a chance to get up.

A force that felt like a mountain began pressing her head back into the ground with great force.

What she felt was Lena’s foot on her back.

Lena then began stomping on the woman with her high heels, doing her best to target the face while also causing her to bleed.

To calm herself down, Lena usually destroyed anything she didn’t like. Pretty faces that could rival hers were one of those things.

Lena then began biting her nails. “Even the person I came to this academy for started to avoid me due to this bastard!”

“Not only that but mother reprimanded me, even if it was lightly. I won’t stop until I see him disappear!”

All of this was unknown to Reno however, he was just waiting for Rosa to come back with her brother.

After around 5 minutes of Rosa being gone, she came back with a guy who was taller than both her and Reno.

“Ta-dah! Reno, this is my brother Chett. Say hello to Reno, Chett.”

Chett rubbed the back of his head and then held out his hand. “I’m Chett Lina, nice to meet you Reno.”

Reno shook his hand and replied. “Nice to meet you too Chett.”

Chett then looked a bit confused. “For someone who’s crazy enough to provoke an original family like the Imogens, you are more, what’s the word? Calm than I thought you would be”

“By both the situation and just overall. I thought I’d see some crazy suicidal guy who wants to die or someone who has some long-standing vendetta against them and is hungry for revenge.”

“I’m getting ahead of myself though, still too early to tell-”

Before Chett could say anything more, Rosa pinched him on his arm.

“Stop talking, you aren’t exactly making Reno feel any better, you know?”

Reno’s face turned a bit more stern.

“Don’t worry Rosa, I know I’m in deep trouble. All I can do now is do my best to get out of it.”

Chett smiled a bit.

‘This guy is much more cool-headed than I thought he was gonna be.'

'That might increase his chances of surviving, not by much though”

Rosa then grabbed the hands of both Reno and Chett. “Enough wasting time, let’s get to your dorm as quick as possible, that’s the safest place for you currently”

The trio then left the student council room and started to walk down the hallway towards where Reno's dorm room was located.
