After the initial test phase of the butler's risky plan, two years had passed.
Every time the butler went to pick up Trista from the theater room.
He realized that she always had a smile on her face and enjoyed spending time with her dad.
Seeing her like this always put him in a good mood.
Liam felt the same way.
He loved that he got more time to spend with his daughter even though his wife was against something like this.
He knew that his wife preferred to be in control of him.
He couldn't protest due to circumstances concerning the entire Ace family.
As such, he could only put up with it.
Everything was going fine until one rainy Thursday afternoon.
Trista was in her room playing with a doll that her father had sewed himself for her.
“Papa and I have spent so long trying to make these hands by hand."
"He said I should be more ladylike and suggested sewing so I agreed.”
Thinking back on it, she chuckled.
“He’s so lousy with a needle and thread, he’s drawn blood more times than we’ve met.”
She then looked in at her room’s door. ‘Mr Eldon, my butler should be here soon so I can meet up with Dad’
Thinking back to her butler, Trista felt nothing but admiration for him.
Since she was a baby, her parents had little to no time for her.
Mr Eldon had always been the one caring for her before she was even aware of the world.
He took her out to play.
Scolded her when she did something wrong.
Helped her with her studies and made sure to always attend any event that she was in.
Eldon always cared for her like she was his daughter. She looked up to him.
In Trista’s heart, her ideal was someone who she wanted to be like.
So when the time when he always came to get her had gone by, she became worried.
‘Where is he!? I want to meet Papa as soon as I can, it’s almost passed the appointed time.’
She got up out of her bed and then made her way over to the door. In front of her door was one of the family guards.
“Sorry young lady."
"The family heads have ordered me to keep you inside for the rest of the evening, please wait inside.”
Trista nodded her head. She was smart enough to know that with the guard there she wouldn’t be going anywhere.
That didn’t stop thoughts from rampaging through her head though.
‘A guard? Why are my parents keeping me inside today? Where is Mr Eldon? I need to find out where he is!’
Trista then went over to her room’s window.
Seeing that there were no guards outside her window.
She hopped onto the tree that was right beside her room and climbed down.
Trista was a pretty feisty kid personality-wise. She loved to climb trees, play sports, and move up and down the place.
In no time, she had reached onto the ground and started sneaking around the estate.
It didn't take her long until she reached the main doors.
She found it pretty weird that no guards were in front of the mansion’s entrance like usual but she didn’t dwell on that fact.
When Trista opened the mansion’s doors, she was faced with a shocking scene that would scar any 10-year-old.
“Ahhhhhh! Mr Eldon!”
Eldon the butler was lying down in a pool of his blood, his body not showing any movements of life.
He was dead, the Mr Eldon who had carried her to see her dad the previous day was gone.
Trista rushed to where he was, crying on the way there.
“Misshter Eldonn… Pleease respond… Whyy eren’t you moving…”
Getting no response, Trista kept crying.
“Papa! Hllp Misshter Eldonn pleazse! Hez nyyot myoving…”
Guilt welled up inside Liam.
His wife Nadia had found out about the arrangement where the butler was helping Trista spend time with him.
No matter how much he denied it.
She decided to go with that narrative and ordered one of the guards to execute the butler.
She had promised the butler to cripple him and punish Trista if he admitted that he was involved but Eldon kept denying it.
It was his idea and as such, he thought that there was no reason for Trista to get punished for his mistake.
Knowing how cruel the lady was to Trista.
He wouldn’t be able to bear it if he was responsible for anything happening to Trista.
Even when Liam pleaded with him to admit it, he denied it which led to him getting killed in the end.
Looking at his daughter soaked in tears, he wanted to help her, he wanted to do something but he couldn't
The Ace family couldn't bear the wrath of the family his wife was from, the Imogens.
If he did something that ended up upsetting her then not only his little angel but his entire family would be in danger.
After crying out for something for her dad’s help for some time, Trista gave up.
‘Ah, I see now. No one wants to help Mr Eldon.'
'Even though he was the only reason I believed that my family had a chance to become close and happy...'
'No one wants to help him...’
‘No one cares about him, not even I did. I used Mr Eldon as a vehicle to try meeting with my Papa.'
'Even though Papa only cares for me when it’s convenient for him.’
She looked down on Mr Eldon’s face saw some tears on his cheek and began to silently sob to herself.
‘Even though he put in his all to care for me, I didn’t care for him back. I used him, I can’t even say I’m much better than my parents.’
After wiping her tears, Trista then took up Mr Eldon’s body and began carrying him outside the mansion.
Seeing that Trista wanted to leave, Nadia ordered the guards to stop her.
Some of the guards then tried to restrain Trista but couldn’t even get her to budge an inch.
This surprised everyone in the mansion.
Several guards at the E - F rank level were unable to make her move, even by an inch.
Ignoring them, she continued to walk outside of the mansion making her way to the garden
She didn’t know it but the reason her strength was amplified was that when she was crying.
She had instinctively started circulating energy all around her body in an attempt to calm down.
Being a C-rank mage, Nadia noticed this.
‘My daughter is a prodigy!
'At the age of 10, not only does her vital core have enough energy to circulate her body many times in succession.'
'But after every circulation, some of it is escaping through her pores into the atmosphere.’
She then ordered the guards to once again, stop Trista.
‘My talented daughter shouldn’t be touching the lowly corpse of some butler. She should forget about him and become a model mage!’
She was then about to cast a binding spell but was stopped by Liam.
“No more! our angel is going through a hard time right now. Let her be for today.”
Nadia got furious. “Liam are you disrespecting my authority in this family!”
“My authority of being from the Imogen who can turn you into dust at the snap of my fingertips if I wished it so!”
Seeing how little his wife seemed to understand about what Trista was going through.
Liam got pissed.
“Remember this Nadia, I don’t care if you are from the Imogens or even the strongest of the 5 original families. If you make my daughter cry again then I’ll kill you myself.”
Feeling Liam’s malice in his statement, Nadia quieted down. ‘It’s just for today Nadia, bear with it!’
In the time that Nadia and Liam were feuding. Trista had dug a hole for Mr Eldon and buried him inside of it.
She had even put some flowers on it before sitting down trying to console herself.
“I know what I should have done differently but what use is that now if the person is gone.”
Reno was sitting in the garden behind Trista who was 10 years old.
He got down on his knees and hugged the poor girl.
‘No one is here for her, she’s all alone by herself.’
He then started to pat Trista’s head.
“Don’t think about it too hard, you’re only 10. You're still young."
"All you need to do is cry. Release your grief and don’t let it build up and break you down.”
As if hearing Reno, Trista began to cry much louder.
Sometime later, she had finally finished getting all her emotions out. Reno then wiped the tears off her face.
“Feeling better now?”
Trista nodded. “Yes, thank you!”
Then the space that Reno was in began to dissolve into mist and disperse. Trista who was beside him was crying a bit.
In Reno’s hand was a sword that was like his sword in its shape and size.
The biggest difference was that the color of the weapon was dark blue.
Trista then wiped her tears and slugged Reno on his shoulder.
“I don’t think much more needs to be said about why I turned out like this. So let’s focus on the important stuff.
“You’re pretty in tune with your emotions it seems, we were even able to create an emotion-scape this time.”
“I know you don’t know so I’ll explain."
"An emotion-scape is when the emotion aspect of the weapon is concentrated."
"Concentrated to the point that one may influence the memory which in turn increases the chances of a better weapon.”
“Check the weapon using your smartwatch, tell me what you think.”
Reno tapped his smartwatch and scanned the sword.
Nameless (Suggested Name: Unfair Maiden) [Rank: B]
{A sword created by combining the blacksmithing skill of Trista Ace and Reno Mochizuki, along with the feather of an Api Biru Phoneix.}
[It holds the memory of a girl who grew up too early for her own good due to the death of her caretaker along with her mother’s tyranny. This was the event that led her onto the path of becoming a blacksmith.]
[Imbued Skill: Never-ending Sorrow] {Cooldown: 5 minutes}
[The entire blade and its user will be engulfed with flames that reduce damage taken by 15% while increasing the damage dealt out by 15%]
Reno was surprised. “It says that it’s a rank B sword!? It even has a skill on it too!”
Trista’s eyes widened in surprise. “B-rank huh, looks like your control over the emotional aspect was good.”
Trista then asked Reno to hand her the sword. She then also scanned it and coated one of her fingers in energy to engrave something on the blame.
She then handed back the sword to Reno. “Here you go, that’s yours now. Remember to take it to the student council and get it registered so you can carry it around with you.”
Reno was dumbfounded. “Ehh! You’re giving me a Rank B weapon!?”
Trista smacked Reno on his head. “If I tell you to take it then just appreciate the gift you bitch!”
“I wouldn’t give you something that will kill you, make sure that you don’t show it off any and everywhere.”
“If you get it robbed from you then I’ll make sure to thrash you. Make sure to keep Unfair Maiden safe and protected.”
Reno was still dumbfounded but decided not to push the matter any further. He felt like his world was upside down from a light smack from Trista.
He wasn’t trying to get another one of her blows that felt like Iron when it touched his head.
Trista then looked at the time. Around 20 minutes had gone into forging Unfair Maiden.
In the remaining time, Trista made sure to show Reno the ropes of how the basic machinery worked.
She also explained to him how he could use his gloves more efficiently.
