Ryan was surprised, to think that one of his fellow teachers had turned a vampire in the short while that they hadn’t met.
Being used to killing other races, Ryan was cool-headed, even if it was a teacher that he knew, the human race didn’t think kindly of those who would dare betray their own and side with another race.
Ryan was getting ready to cast a cyclone slice but before he could, a sword covered in blood sliced off his arm.
“Ahhhh!?” Ryan was in pain and confused. Looking at the new person who had entered the fray, he was unsure if he was being made fun of or just being toyed with.
Someone who had a paper bag on with only holes where his eyes should be had appeared out of seemingly nowhere and sliced off Ryan’s arm.
Ryan lost a great deal of blood initially but had now manipulated some of the energy from his core to clot his hand and stop his bleeding.
[Margot’s Enchanting Technique: Unending Water Spears]
Again, a seemingly endless amount of spears made out of water were summoned and then shot at the mysterious opponent.
Not even taking a step back or flinching the mysterious person’s blade became crimson red before he started slicing all the spears that were shot at him.
The move that had essentially taken Kian down seemed to be easily dealt with by the mysterious man.
Realizing how bad the situation was, Ryan flew over to Reno before taking him up with only one hand and then flying off toward the abandoned camp.
‘Strong! I can’t fight that vampire, he had to be at the viscount rank or higher.’
‘Not only did he sneak up on me while energy radar was active but he easily deflected an Enchanting technique at the B rank level such as Unending Water Spears!’
Mage techniques were divided into different categories that go as follows:
Mystic meant that a technique would have abilities that could be used for a variety of different situations such as the shield, flight, and slice.
Occult meant that a technique would only have different abilities that could be used for the same purpose. This meant that Ryan’s occult technique that had energy radar only had detection abilities.
Stolen novel; please report.
Enchanting meant that the technique had mostly trump card-type abilities such as Ryan’s Unending Water Spears that could demolish a chunk of a forest.
‘To fight him would be to walk into the gate of hell willingly, I don’t fucking get paid enough to deal with all this bullshit! Not just one but two vampires, what the hell is the academy doing!?’
Ryan was doing his best to keep a collected face on the outside to not worry Reno but Reno didn’t have to read his expression to know how bad the situation was.
If even a B+ rank teacher such as Ryan was fleeing then that meant the situation was getting out of hand.
Ryan realized that the mysterious vampire wasn’t chasing him but still flew as fast as he could to get back to the rift entrance and get help.
Seeing Ryan and Reno fly off into the distance, the masked person turned to Kent who seemed like he was on his last breath.
Ryan’s Enchanting spell seemed to do quite a number on him as most of his body was missing and even though it was healing, it was at a very slow rate for a vampire.
The masked figure picked up Kent and rushed back to the rift gate.
‘This should be enough to explain why the A rank and up teachers had felt the energy of a vampire some days ago.’
‘Honestly… If my lady didn’t still think you had some use, I would prefer to just kill you right now. I’ve been watching since I felt you become a vampire. As soon as he became one, he had lost to his urges’
‘I shouldn’t question my lady’s orders though’
As soon as the mysterious figure felt the presence of the mage disappears, he left through the rift.
Sometime later, Teacher Ryan who had left as quickly as he could with Reno came back to the rift with reinforcements from the staff and began to search for the vampires while simultaneously evacuating all the remaining students
Other than the blood they didn’t seem to find many traces of any, meaning that they were too late and the vampires had escaped.
While they were searching for the vampires, the staff also stumbled upon the remains of three students.
Ryan felt guilty for the entire ordeal but the others reaffirmed to him that there was nothing that could be done.
After a long search, the teachers that were at the level of A rank or higher, diverged from the group and went to the principal’s office.
Seeing this, Ryan realized that the problem was much bigger than he had imagined.
While the school was in a 1st rank rift and considered fairly prestigious, recruiting A-rankers to be teachers was considered a fairly impossible task, much less S-rankers.
The principal of the school who was an old man with grey hairs on his head and a small beard of equally grey hair welcomed 10 out of 11 A-rank teachers along with an S-rank one.
The school had 2 S-rankers, the principal included.
“Alright, let’s get down the business, report the situation of the past few days to me without any details being left out.”
One of the teachers scratched their head. “But principal, you already know the whole situation though”
The principal slammed the desk in front of him. “Of course I do but It seems like you guys don’t!”
The room went silent. A few days ago, there was a reported sighting of a vampire entering the academy and along with some mage teachers reporting that they felt the bloody energy of a vampire on that day, the school was secretly in lockdown.
Hearing the story of what occurred in the rift on a practical outing from his maid some moments ago, the principal was furious.
The fact that not only one but two vampires were able to enter the academy without anyone knowing would be enough to get him demoted.
So when he heard the situation, the only emotion he had was rage.
