Under the effects of the focus skill, 2 hours seemed to just fly by to Reno. Opposite to when he was doing his training time seemed hesitant to move.
Unbeknownst to Reno, however, his mental ability was improving just as how his muscles were improving. As Reno was a normal swordsman combatant student, his smartwatch was configured to show only what he needed to see.
Removing useless clutter essentially. One’s chosen profession at the academy was used to cater to their needs.
An example of this would be the fact that Reno’s watch only showed him stats affecting his physical ability or when he got the librarian to find him skills he could learn without energy.
Reno soon found himself on the ground covered in a pool of sweat like usual.
The odd thing was that his head felt clear and cool as if outside influences did not affect him. If someone cursed at him or even tried fighting him, Reno would most likely not care about them and just ignore them.
Reno then got up off the ground and started walking to the training room exit. Before leaving the room, he made sure to wipe off as much sweat as he could.
Upon exiting, he found that Cassia was no longer there and just guessed that she must have gone back to her room.
Reno got a bottle of water from the fridge and then went to take a shower.
Thinking back on his training session, it dawned on Reno how useful energy potions were. The fact that his body could feel almost 100% after going through so much torture.
Alas, even anything good could be bad when used too much. Most people could only take around 5 a day at max, some others had more special bodies that could even go beyond that.
While training with Trista, Reno had reached his only daily max. Although, not much use would come out of him using it after a focus session as the skill had an extremely long cooldown.
Continuing to just think about random things, Reno stopped and then jumped at the fact that he had remembered that his exploration outing was for tomorrow.
Reno quickly finished bathing and then did his nightly routine and jumped into bed.
The Survival 101 practical was the next day. The trips for the Survival 101 class usually lasted the entire normal school day, putting those with wacky schedules at a disadvantage.
Students had to be there before the appointed time, however. To make it worse, the theory teacher, Nero Idris was the one marking attendance and would love to take off marks off of late students.
Make sure to note down the time that he should be there. Reno drifted off into dreamland.
Reno made sure to do his nightly focus theory session, this time Reno only focused on the parry skill as it made more sense to become great at one skill quickly than take too long to get all his skills up to par.
Reno then slept for some time before his body told him he had to get up.
Looking at the time, Reno realized that he had around 30 minutes to make it to the rift department, which was not too far, only around a 20-minute walk away from his dorm.
Seeing that he had time, Reno did his morning routine and went into the living room to check how much he had progressed this time, from both training and the newly leveled-up focus.
He would not be fighting other races or the like but he had to be wary against students, especially the spoiled ones who just wanted things to go their way.
The goal of the practical outing was so that Reno and his class would be able to survive in different types of rifts, be able to make edible food, scrape together clothing if need be, and also shelter.
Of course, the outing that he was going on was not that brutal, or else the powerful and wealthy families would not send their kids here.
All that Reno had to do was to bring back some specified amount of a certain resource and then he would get good marks on the practical outing.

In addition, if he brought back more of it then his grade was guaranteed to be higher.
The problem with this is obviously that those who were stronger would rob the weaker ones for a better grade. Some teachers would stop such stuff if they saw it.
The key word is if they saw it as most of the spoiled rich and powerful people would just commit the crime out of the teacher’s sight.
Reno sighed. ‘It’s happened to the original Reno a bunch of times. It’s pretty frustrating but nothing much can really be done, reporting it is useless and fighting back if you’re not that strong will just get you more beaten’
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Reno pulled up his combat sheet. Seeing the figures on it, his jaw almost fell to the ground.

Reno’s physical stats were pretty terrible before so it made sense for them to be easier to raise but to be able to raise them by not just 1, but 2 - 3 stages would be considered great by anyone.
This was especially so because he had just done it for a day.
Not only that but with two of Reno’s skills being proficiency V (five) he could be considered proficient in both of them.
The way how skills went is that below proficiency five, they were considered to be trainee or amateur status but proficiency V and up had their ranks.
This was made since skills, after they reached proficiency five, were considered hard to raise any further, only some talented people or genius people could keep pushing onto further ranks.
After Proficient (V) then it would be Talented (VI), Genius (VII), Masterful (VIII), and Grandmaster (IX)
With how hard it was to raise ranks after proficiency, only a handful of people throughout history have ever even reached Grandmaster rank but no one has ever raised a skill to its limit (X), due to the sheer difficulty or better yet, impossibility.
Reno was beyond surprised, if it could, his heart would have jumped out of his chest and ran across the academy and back.
Seeing the time, however, Reno started to make his way toward the rooms where the rifts used by students were located.
After around 20 minutes, Reno reached the room, entered, and found where his class was, getting marked by Nero as early.
Most of his class seemed to be early, much to Reno’s surprise.
Soon, the time for the practical to begin started and teacher Nero started to explain what material was to the target of this outing.
“The required material this time is the water rose that’s located in a rainforest-like area. This rift was originally the home of forest elves but they, along with all life were all purged from this rift with only some herbs remaining”
“Each person needs to have 10 water roses to pass and get a C. Any more will be calculated for a higher grade”
“Teacher Ryan will have a table open where you can get the necessities such as water, food, and a bag to store the flowers in. When you have enough flowers, you can go to him to turn them in.”
“Also, Teams can be formed but are not necessary for this practical. Hopefully, you all pass”
After finishing with the instructions, the practical teacher Ryan Basil took over.
“Are all my lovely students ready to get wild and forestry!”
Hearing his voice, all the girls in the class shouted with passion. Most of the boys just rolled their eyes in annoyance.
“Sounds good to me, let’s get going then!”
The whole class then began to make their way into the rift.
