After surveying the area around him for a while, Kina realized that not only was he not alone but there were lots of students all around him.
‘This is bad! The school doesn’t know anything about me trying to become a genetic enhancer which would have to be submitted to them beforehand.’
‘If a student sees me and reports it to any of the staff then I’ll be in deep shit. Maybe even worse as the academy has been on alert trying to find a vampire that had made its way onto school grounds, I might be suspected if word gets out sooner than I need it to’
‘For now, I need to stay hidden’
Making up his mind on what to do, Kian was getting ready to find a place to hide from any students but a voice in the distance stopped him.
“A vampire! He has crimson eyes, what kind of lousy school is this, vampires are in the damn rifts!?”
Hearing this from the girl in the trees, Xander was in disbelief along with Reno.
‘A vampire!? Are they just trying to draw me out or distract me? The chances of a vampire infiltrating academy grounds are close to 0, much less a rift’
Reno then faced opposite to where the arrow was launched from and came face to face with two very clear crimson eyes.
He felt as if the person was staring into his soul.
Kian’s face twisted into disbelief.
‘What are the fucking chances of it happening as soon as I mention it”
He put his face in his palm and then began to think about what to do.
‘I don’t want to kill a bunch of kids with their lives ahead of them due to a blunder of mine but it’s the safest way to keep my secret safe! Yes! I need to do this.’
Xander and the girl were struck with fear and paused for some time.
A real-life vampire! Even the weakest of vampires were able to contend with C rankers and the like that seemed to be far away from them.
Who knew how high the level of one that could infiltrate the academy and even hide in a rift would be?
While both parties were thinking, Reno had made up his mind from he saw the crimson eyes.
Wasting no time, he bolted in the direction that he came from. Going as fast as his legs and F- speed could carry him.
He knew he stood no chance. Even though he had gotten stronger from the time he had trained with Cassia and Grania, they were not a vampire.

Forget one blow, even a finger poke would most likely kill him.
Reno taking off, however, was the final push needed for Kian to make up his mind.
“I’m left with no other choice, I’ll just make sure to kill these four. It’s not as if I’m the one dealing with the consequences after all.”
Under the eyes of both Xander and his female lackey, Kian disappeared.
When he reappeared, his hand was already plunged through the chest of the female student, covered with blood.
Kian was a newly turned vampire and as such, his urge to consume blood was at an all-time high. He wanted to deal with the students as soon as possible but his hunger felt like it would kill him if he didn’t eat soon.
Kian made sure to take out the female student’s heart and squeeze as much blood out of it and into his mouth as he possibly could.
‘This delectable taste, I can see why vampires wanted to rule humans in the past, they taste heavenly!’
Kian then tore off an arm of the female student and began to wring it like a towel to get as much blood as he could out.
He savored every drop of blood that came from his meal. He wasn’t aware that most of his humanity ceased to exist when he had turned into a vampire, not that he was a good person even before that.
Snapping himself out of his hunger frenzy, he turned to check on the other two students who were below the tree and on the ground.
He knew that the student who ran was Reno and how pitiful he was in terms of strength, especially now that his vital core was destroyed.
Even if Reno had run at top speed, it would have taken him around 10 minutes to go to where the teachers would usually set up camp.
Looking on the ground, he found that Xander was missing only the brawler student still knocked out on the ground.
Kian got a bit annoyed. ‘I don’t know much about that other student, I’ll deem him top priority but for now, let me kill the one on the ground’
He then jumped off the tree and crushed the head of the student as if it was a watermelon, all his brain matter when his brain was crushed seemed to launch everywhere.
Kian killed him in this way so that he could at least get a snack before he left the rift.
After finding the tracks of both students, Kian went after the one that he knew wasn’t Reno.
Xander was running for his life, he didn’t even know where he was going just as long as the vampire wasn’t there.
“Damn it! I shouldn’t have followed that guy after all, I can’t believe that there would be a vampire in here, if I get hurt, I’ll make sure this stupid academy pays the price!”
While running he noticed that a shadow passed above him, seeing this he abruptly stopped all motion and then began to move silently in a different direction.
Even Xander was smart enough to realize that the shadow was the vampire that was after him.
He could try hiding but he’d most likely get found quickly. His best bet was to run away until he was safe.
After around a minute passed, Xander thought he was safe but just to ensure he touched the ground and used a skill.
[Detection]
It was one of the most simple yet useful skills that all mages knew how to use. By sending out a wave of energy to a certain distance he could find out if there was anyone near him.
After some seconds, Xander received the results as his face contorted into shock.
That was the last face he made, however, as his head was cut in half by Kian with a rock.
“I just need to deal with the last one now”
Kian then began sprinting as fast as he could in the direction that Reno had initially run off in.
He had a wide and creepy smile on his face, initially, he was against trying to be violent, especially against students but it felt as if the more he killed, the more he craved it.
This was not the vampire transformation affecting Kian though, this was just his true personality getting realized.
He wanted strength not to be special and escape mediocrity but so that he could stand above others and do anything to those he deemed below him.
With his vampire transformation, Kian could be classified as a B-rank combatant.
His speed compared to Reno was barely an F-rank combatant and could be said to only be overwhelming.
Not even taking a full minute, he had almost caught up to Reno.
Before he could get his hands on Reno, however, a red ball of fire stopped him.
Seeing the ball of fire, Kian instinctively hid behind some trees.
‘Fuck! That was not the firepower of a student, it must be the teacher of the class. Reno must have alerted him.
‘I’ll give him that he has impressed me. Most people when under pressure tend to throw common sense out the window and just do foolishness but to think Reno would keep his wits and alert a teacher
Seeing the fireball Reno felt some relief. He had been running for a while and realized that the vampire wasn’t after him.
Needing to make sure he was safe though, he had messaged teacher Ryan about the situation and continued running as close as he could to camp.
Just a small move such as this was what saved Reno in the end.
