Hikaru and Yuri were busy searching through random rooms inside the Academy. Looking for any clues, when Hikaru stopped moving.
He drew his sword and entered a defensive stance, whilst Yuri looked at him with confusion.
“Hikaru what are you doing, get back to work-”
Yuri was cut off by Hikaru calling out suddenly.
“I can sense your presence. Show yourself, fiend.”
Calmly calling out, his eyes betrayed his slight anxiety as they jumped around, looking for whoever he was addressing.
“My…how your senses have dulled. I suppose it can’t be helped, considering how you look right now..”
A feminine voice rang out from nowhere.
A small torrent of wind shook the room, giving form to a female figure wearing a white mantle and a white wolf hood, covering her face.
Hikarus expression froze. His wide red eyes the only moving part of his face
The muscles in his entire body tightened, he was just about to chop the head off the figure in front of him, when he stopped mid-motion.
The hooded woman had somehow appeared behind Yuri, and was holding a small familiar dagger to her throat, a small gust of wind swayed Yuri’s hair.
“Hooo…” She mused.
“So this little girl is someone you actually care for?” She smiled sweetly.
“You…let Yuri go. This is between you and me.”
Hikaru growled at her, making Yuri flinch slightly by reflex.
“See, you’re scaring her, so sheathe that metal fang and calm down.”
The woman’s mouth was still forming a crescent.
Sheathing his sword slowly, Hikaru didn’t break eye contact with the woman for a single moment.
“There. Now release Yuri..”
His gaze turned even more murderous than before.
“Hmmm. How about you throw down the sword as well?”
He did as he was told, and threw the sheathed sword on the ground. A loud clanking noise choed through the empty room they were in.
“Now.” He said, seemingly having difficulty forming words, either due to anger or something else.
“Hmmm..let’s see..alright..”
She slowly moved the dagger away from Yuri’s throat.
Before swiftly jabbing it straight into her throat. Yuri collapsed on the ground, her body limp.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
The moment Yuri hit the floor, a growl shook the room they were in.
Hikaru launched himself at the woman, grabbing and unsheathing his longsword mid flight.
The sound of metal striking metal filled the room. Except the woman wasn’t using any weapon, she had blocked Hikarus stroke with her bare hand, by grabbing the blade with her slender fingers that seemed to be as strong as steel.
Another inhuman roar shook the room, echoing through out the entire castle as Hikaru kept relentlessly striking at the hooded woman at a speed that far surpassed what a human should be able to accomplish, it even surpassed what a human could perceive with their eyes.
The woman seemed to have no trouble blocking the endless stream of slashes and thrusts with her bare hands, and yawned audibly as she did so.
“Ahh..that’s it, that’s the look you should have…”
Giggling, she admired his red eyes and face that was contorted with rage, all the while moving her hand to block each sword strokes mere moments before it hit.
“And yet you are still this weak..you disappoint me brother.”
Her smile changed to a deep frown.
The woman took his sword into her hand and broke it in half with her fingers.
“Use your real fangs instead of these..human ones..”
Hikaru however, continued to attack her despite his sword breaking, slashing at her with the half half still attached to the handle, entirely unaffected by the fact that his weapon was easily broken just a second ago.
“You disappoint me.”
She sighed.
“Let this be a reminder to you. You can’t survive like this. You belong with us, you don’t belong with these…inferior creatures..and you never will, no matter how much you try..”
His sword was pushed away so it got jammed in the wall.
She swiftly wrapped her mantle around herself, as she did, instead of a young woman, what appeared was the figure of a large white wolf with glowing yellow eyes.
The wolf beat took a last look at Hikaru before disappearing into a whirlwind of wind.
“SKÖÖÖÖÖÖÖLL!”
Hikaru screamed, releasing all the air in his lungs.
He fell to his knees, slowly making his way towards the fallen Yuri.
He took her small body and held her close to himself in a deep and sad embrace.
“Ow…too..tight..”
A wheezing sound came from Yuri, which startled Hikaru as he quickly loosened his grip on her body.
“Yuri…You’re alive!”
He exclaimed in shock relief and happiness.
“Of course I am. Can’t you see I’m not bleeding-”
She didn’t finished her sentence when she noticed the look on Hikaru’s face.
“Um..why are you crying..?”
She tore a bit of her skirt off and wiped his face with it.
“Just a bit..I thought you were..”
Dead. He finished the last part in his head while he stroked Yuri’s head.
“Right…” She blushed slightly at his strangely caring behaviour, even weirder than usual.
“Hey guess what?” She tried to change the subject awkwardly and took something out of her pocket.
“Tadaa~”
She was holding a very small inscribed dagger, the dagger they had been searching for.
“What, how did you?”
“Well you see. When that weird woman showed up and threatened me, I noticed that the weapon she was holding against my throat, was actually my dagger. Then after she tried to jab it into my throat, I grabbed it out of her pocket as I was falling down. Oh and the dagger of course blocked because of my dress, Or should I say ribbon?”
The ribbon was patted softly, while it gave off a faint glow, as if in delight.
After seeing Yuri pat the ribbon, Hikaru gave off a deep laugh, which confused Yuri.
“What’s so funny?” She wondered.
“Oh nothing..”
Yuri was patted gently.
“Oh and by the way..” She began.
“Hmm?”
“WHO IN THE HELL WAS THAT, and why did she or it call you brother and how did she turn into a wolf, is it some kind of transformation magic or what, and what was she talking about, it sounded weird and I want it explained. In fact I want everything explained!”
Firing off an incredibly long sentence, Yuri breathed in, having expanded all the air in her lungs.
“Ah well the thing is…”He started.
