Chapter 29: School girl Blossom

“So Jarvis, what did Delem say?”

Yuri sat at the back of a small bar with Hikaru standing behind her in his usual vigilant stance.

“Well,,”

Jarvis unfolded a small letter.

“This sun symbol seems to have appeared at several locations where relics have gone missing..”

He sighed.

“It has caused quite a lot of panic everywhere, among the higher standing people at least. This information is kept secret from the common public, for obvious reasons..”

“So we finally have ourselves a rival..is that why they attacked me? To take care of competition?”

“Possibly..”

Jarvis shrugged.

“Or perhaps they wished to get their hands on the relics you acquired..which reminds me..The boss was curious if you needed help hiding them somewhere?”

“I have them in a secure place.”

Hikaru chimed in.

“That is all you need to know.”

“Right..well you heard him..but why would anyone even want the relics, other than me. I thought they were useless unless you were choosing the next bishop?”

“Well. I have no answer to that. That’s partly why there is a great panic among the bishops and nobles. There is little to no information to go on. This time however it’s most likely they had someone inside the rebels do the work for them. It’s the most likely scenario.”

“Fair enough, not like it’s even that hard to join them. Any clues on my dagger?”

Yuri didn’t like being so defenceless, having to rely on being protected by Hikaru whenever something happened.

“Actually, that’s the good news, we have information on where your dagger is right now!”

Jarvis announced with a proud leer.

“Really!?”

Yuri beamed.

“I would hug you if you didn’t remind me of Delem so much!”

“I will take that as a compliment”

He rubbed his chin.

“Anyway, it seems one of the mages that ran off with your dagger and a pair of odd gauntlets, immediately sold them to a private customer.”

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

A few transaction listings were placed on the table.

“Luckily for us, the middleman they sold it through keeps meticulous records of their sales, which we managed to acquire by certain means. It was sold at a very high price, since it was deemed an item of high magical properties.”

“Right right, but who actually bought it?”

Yuri asked impatiently.

“Well it was actually bought by the headmaster of Blossom Academy,”

“Right, so we can just go and get it, tell me about this Academy.”

“That’s the peculiar part, it’s not just any old Academy. It’s an old Academy for raising young noble girls. The magic research department facilities on this Academy are very limited. Most of it is centred around business management and etiquette. The fact he paid so much is strange..very strange..”

Jarvis stroked his chin thoughtfully.

“Who cares, he probably collects them, the reason doesn’t matter, I just need information on this Academy so I can get it back!”

Yuri nodded impatiently and tried to move the topic along.

“Honestly speaking, getting it will be hard”

He scratched his head.

“The security for the Academy is incredibly high, other than the teachers and students, no is permitted to enter, not that they can anyway. They have all manner if magical protections. It’s the Academy of the future noble women of the world after all..”

“I see..and without my dagger I can’t easily bypass all that magic..can’t you get us a guest tour of the Academy or something..?”

She was grasping at any straws she could get.

“Sadly no such thing exists. The magic permits only students and teachers.”

Jarvis scratched his chin.

“However…there might be an easier way to get in..i just have to send a few letters to the Boss..i will be right back.”

“An easier way..?”

Yuri raised an eyebrow.

“What the hell is this!”

Cried out Yuri while looking in the mirror.

She was wearing a short plaid skirt with a pink blouse and some short heeled black shoes. The blouse held a small emblem of a blossom on a shield.

“It’s the only way, even Delem agreed..”

Hikaru reminded her and gently patted her on the head to comfort her.

“Don’t worry, it fits you, no one would think that you aren’t a young noble lady”

“That’s not the problem! Besides I don’t even want to be a noble, much less a lady!”

She complained loudly.

“That damn Delem..i swear he only said there was no other way to have me suffer..that fat pervert..”

She pouted.

“I’m a man damnit..why should I be the one doing this..”

“You are the only one with the correct age and gender, besides, i’m sure it will be easy for you to fool everyone there. Since your aim is to be the greatest thief, isn’t it natural to practice acting?”

Hikaru was attempting to convince her.

“Well..you’re right I suppose..it shouldn’t be too hard to fool everyone there, since I am the great Yuri after all!”

Her chest was puffed up in confidence, and she was patted again by Hikaru who smile in a sort of ‘that’s much more like the usual Yuri’ sort of way.

“Your carriage is ready to depart”

Jarvis poked his head into the dressing room before disappearing again.

“Well..I’m off then..”

“Good luck Yuri, don’t worry too much about it, I will come if anything happens.”

He smiled at her.

“Thanks I guess..”

Yuri felt butterflies in her stomach for the first time since she first went to school as a child in her previous world.

She opened the door and stepped out into the light.
