Standing in a dark alley, Yuri and Hikaru waited for their contact that would lead them to an information broker. They had gotten in contact with them by paying the inn keeper a hefty penny.
“What the hell is taking so long..this worlds business side is really unprofessional.”
Yuri complained in irritation after waiting for an hour. She was used to handling with the scum of society, as she had been one of them, when she was still a he. But she had never really had to deal with those lower on the food chain, she could usually bribe her way in with the more professional people, easily avoiding all the grunt work.
“Hmm..this might be some sort of test..in order to see if we are serious.”
Reading a small book with no clear title, which he had acquired from somewhere without Yuri noticing. Hikaru began to read while waiting.
“Hah…i doubt it..they probably forgot our appointment or maybe there was no appointment and we were scammed..i will make that inn keeper pay if that’s true..”
Attempting to crack her fist in a threatening manner, she ended up hurting her fingers as they were quite weak compared to her original body.
“Awawawa…” She held her hand while letting out a weak whimper.
“Here, let me fix that..” Hikaru muttered while casting a small healing spell that dulled the pain.
“Thanks..” Her ears felt hot after embarrassing herself like that, not that Hikaru seemed to notice.
A few minutes later, a small child, wearing nothing but rags appeared from a small hole in the ground, which appeared to be the cities sewers and motion for them to follow him while he ran around a corner.
Confused over the contact being a small child, Yuri and Hikaru hurriedly followed anyway, soon finding themselves in front of a small wooden door that looked exactly like all the other doors scattered about everywhere. Their destination was confirmed by the child who pointed towards the door and quickly ran off without saying anything.
“Well this is probably it..?” Knocking on the door seven times as she was told to by the inn keeper, she waited for a response.
The door opened and they were greeted by a tall broad man with a cloth around his head who motioned for them to come inside.
Confidently walking down the hallway, Yuri made sure her stride was proud. Hikaru silently followed her with his hand on his sword the entire time.
Arriving at a small room with a few sofas and a table with drinks and fruits on it, they noticed one of the sofas was occupied by a fat bearded man with golden teeth and colorful clothing, who greeted them as they came in.
“Ah, welcome welcome, you must be the pair who were asking around for an information broker, correct?” He continued before they had a chance to answer “well you’ve found one, the very best in fact!” He motioned for them to sit down “ So sit, sit, and let us discuss what you desire to know and how I can help you with it.”
He made a broad smile that almost blinded Yuri, as the lightly reflected from his shiny mostly golden teeth was direct at Yuri’s eyes.
“Thank you” She sat down, while Hikaru chose to continue to stand near her, earning him a curious look from the golden toothed man.
“I prefer to stand, thank you.”
Hikaru said while not bothering to take his hand away from his sword.
“Ah, well, it’s okay to be distrustful of someone you meet for the first time, but please enjoy the refreshments here, even a guard such as yourself would find it hard to not get thirsty in this heat.”
The fat man suggested happily, but decided to move on to Yuri when Hikaru didn’t even bother to move.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“Ah I forgot to introduce myself, I am Delem Sharaw Mamon, but you can just call me Delem.”
Introducing himself in a proud manner which looked almost comical due to his large body mass, Delem smiled a golden smile.
“Yuri” She nodded at him. “Let’s cut the chitchat, we are here for one thing, and that is information on the relic which we are sure is somewhere in this city, how much information do you have, and how much would that cost us?”
Crossing her legs, Yuri looked at Delem in a serious manner.
“What sort of relic? You would have to a but more specific for me to know what you are talking about, as for the cost, well that fully depends on the difficulty of acquiring said information.” Delem slowly stroked his beard.
“You know. The relic, the godly one, used to choose the next bishop candidate.”
She said nonchalantly as if talking about a fish on the market.
“Aha, quote a funny customer you are-” Delem began but was shortly interrupted by Yuri.
“It’s not a joke, we are serious, so either tell us what we want to know or we will leave.”
Yuri put a strained expression on her face and shifted her legs as if about to get up.
“So you wish to get your hands on the relic of Tyr…I’m sorry but I make it a habit to not do business with jokers and daydreamers, everyone knows it’s impossible to steal a relic. You die if you merely try. So please leave and come back when you have the desire to make real business.”
Delem’s previous friendliness was gone like it was never there and instead replaced with annoyance.
“We are no jokers, and it certainly isn’t impossible.”
Yuri slowly took out a round object covered in a rune symbol Cloth. Show slowly moved a portion of the cloth to reveal what was underneath. A ray of the aura that Yuri had experienced when she saw the orb of Freiya struck Delem between his eyes, making him almost fall from his seat.
“W-what that is- it can’t be..!?”
He stammered while rooting his eyes on the object before him.
“It is more wondrous than what the ancient texts say..a relic of the gods..you actually have one..”
Delem was completely mesmerized until Yuri covered up the orb again and placed it back into her bag.
“So..still unwilling to give us the information we need, or shall we leave?” Slowly rising from her seat, She glanced at the fat man who was still in shock.
“No, no, no of course I would never say no to such professional customers!”
Delem stood up frantically.
“Alright..” She slowly sat back down, with the relieved Delem falling back into his large seat.
“Alright then…although I just saw it a second ago…it still seems so unreal..” Delem muttered.
“Anyway..information on the relic..huh..well it’s going to take a while to get my hands on such information. It is something that no one would dare lay their hands upon..so I didn’t even bother with it..Should probably take a few days at most…as for price..”
Delems eyes lit up at the mention of money.
“Well..this is not something that can be paid with simple coin..”
“Hah? Then what do you want? You can’t have the orb relic, that’s off limits.”
She put the bag behind her back while squinting her eyes.
“Oh no no no, I wouldn’t even dream of having a gods relic, honestly I don’t even know what I would do with it. I’m not sure what method you used, but I’m sure it was dangerous, besides I tend to avoid cursed items, thank you very much. No what I want is a service.”
He began to comb his beard with a small comb made of gold.
“There is something that I desire, that I haven’t been able to get my hands on..but if it’s someone of your ability..who was even able to pull off a heist on a relic..then i’m sure you can do it..yes that will be the price for my information. A mission!”
He declared suddenly.
“Right…what kind of thing do you want us to ‘acquire’ then, that special thing which you supposedly desire..?”
Yuri asked, she was quite happy that they could pay off the information with a task rather than money, she wasn’t sure if the 50 gold they had would be enough.
What I desire most…something that even I cannot acquire..the thing I want you to steal…are the queens PANTIES!”
Delem declared as he pointed at a painting of what Yuri guessed was the queen he referred to.
“HAAAAHH??!”
Yuri, and even Hikaru who had stayed silent and motionless until now, exclaimed loudly.
This world…everyone really is a pervert….Yuri thought as she stopped listening to Delem, who began to preach about something similar to “Panties are justice” and “Panties are every mans dream” Which Yuri didn’t particularly understand. She didn’t have any fascination with panties even when she was still a man. She sighed and exchanged a look with Hikaru, before trying to calm the overly excited, and overly fat, man.
