Outside the restaurant, Felix and Madeline stopped in their tracks.noveldrama
"Felix, thank you. Perhaps I've said that too many times, to the point it's lost its meaning," Madeline said.
Felix smiled. "You don't need to thank me. Just make sure you don't look down on yourself.
Madeline brushed her bangs back, looking calm and collected. "Don't worry. I won't do that again. However, I didn't expect Luke to stand up for me like that today." Felix nodded. "He's a good guy. It's hard for him to hold onto such values, especially given his wealthy background."
At that moment, Luke and Lilian hurried over.
"Maddy, my... my sister wants to apologize to you," Luke said.
Madeline raised an eyebrow. She looked at Lilian, who couldn't even meet her acted so differently from her earlier haughty demeanor.
gaze.
She
"Do I deserve your sister's apology? Since she has already spoken her mind, there's no point in her putting on an act."
Felix, however, seemed to understand the change. It was likely because of that earlier encounter with Walter.
"I'll be going, Maddy. Call if you need anything," Felix said.
As Felix hailed a taxi, Lilian nudged Luke, who hesitantly added, "Mr. Zeller, my parents are hosting a dinner for Maddy tomorrow night. Could you join us?" Dinner at their home? Madeline was stunned. Lilian's sudden apology, combined with this invitation, was no coincidence. Clearly, Felix's influence was at play.
Felix didn't accept the invitation, saying, "I'm heading back to Avesburgh tomorrow. Take
care.
After Felix got in the taxi, Lilian finally said, "Maddy, I apologize. My attitude earlier was terrible. I've been having my own relationship troubles and wasn't in a great place." Madeline nodded. "I understand. However, I'm busy tomorrow night, so I won't be joinin With that, Madeline left. With Felix supporting her, she saw no need to humble herself further.
Sure enough, Lilian grew frantic as she gripped Luke's arm with a pleading look in her
eyes. Her parents already knew about everything.
"Help me! Or Mom and Dad will be furious with me. If Sean hears about this, I'm done for. I really know I was wrong."
Who would have thought that a woman with a past working as a hostess at a bar would have such a powerful patron supporting her? And that person even commanded the respect of George, one of Yartford's most infamous figures.
Only a handful of people could keep him in line making Felix's position obvious.

"Alright, I'll do my best. I just hope you'll consider changing your perspective after this," Luke said.
At the headquarters of the Traditional Medicine Association, Felix was up early. He wasn't nervous. He simply wanted to show the proper respect for the occasion.
"Go get 'em, Felix!" Zara said.
In his apartment, Zara set the breakfast she had brought on the table.
Felix felt a little frustrated. "I could've eaten at the dining hall. You didn't need to bring me breakfast."
Zara laughed. "No way! Today's important, and you need to be in peak condition. Let me take care of you. This concerns the pride of our nation, after all. You probably don't know, but the representative from Guneria is another young guy who's totally arrogant. He's acting like he's already won."
As Felix sat down, he replied confidently, "Don't worry. I'll make sure he leaves our country crying."
