Jack clapped his hands and grinned. "Well, I'm off to bed, then," he said, his carefree attitude a blessing in its own way.
A while later, Vivian walked in and reported nervously, "Mr. Zeller, there's one more thing I forgot to mention."
She was still adjusting to her new role serving the formidable Dragon Lord, and it showed.
""What is it?"
Vivian handed him a piece of paper. "We found this in Olly Davidson's room at the Great Imperial Sect. It seems to be the cause of everything."
After reading it, Felix frowned. His analysis was correct-Xena would not have supported the Great Imperial Sect's actions against him. Someone else was pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
Judging by the level of detail in the letter, the person behind it knew far too much. Hence, it was surely not an outsider.
An hour passed, and Felix remained seated in the living room, expecting a busy night. Suddenly, the door burst open, and Xena stormed in, fuming.
"Felix!" she shouted.
Felix stayed seated, annoyed by the intrusion. "Does being the goddess of war give you the right to break into people's homes?"
"Cut the crap!" Xena pointed at Felix, her body shaking with anger. "A Great Imperial Sect's Supreme Elder is dead. Who did it?"noveldrama
Felix had used Thunderstrike to create confusion. He replied sarcastically, "How should I know? Maybe God himself couldn't stand the Great Imperial Sect's ways and struck him down."
As Xena was about to retort, Felix stood up. "Stop interrogating me like a criminal! The Great Imperial Sect is practically your second home. Why don't you investigate their kidnapping of Jack and their attempt on my life? Or are you only interested in hassling me? Xena took a deep breath, realizing she had been too impulsive. "One of my seniors was responsible for kidnapping Jack. He's been captured. As for Mr. Cunningham trying to kill you... Well, aren't you still living and breathing without a scratch on you?" Felix found her response interesting. Apparently, they had found a scapegoat. "If that's what you believe with your superior intellect, I have nothing more to say. You can leave now."

Felix knew no one could be truly fair and impartial, so he did not bother arguing further. Even Xena, for all her titles, had to weigh her options. Nonetheless, his plans for the Great Imperial Sect elders remained unchanged-they would still have to pay with their lives, "You can either come with me to the Phoenix Legion base, or I'll send people to arrest you publicly," Xena threatened. "I suspect you're involved in Mr. Burton's death. You need to come in for questioning."
Felix's temper flared. "Get out! I'm not a pushover. Even if you had evidence, I'm a member of Dragon Alliance. You have no authority over me."
Xena's eyes narrowed as she stared at him, a fierce resolve in her gaze.
"So that's why you're so confident. You're relying on your Dragon Alliance membership, aren't you? Fine! You've forced my hand. I've never let emotions cloud my judgment, but I'll make an exception for you!" She added, "By sunset tomorrow, I'll have you removed from Dragon Alliance! If I fail, our marriage contract becomes effective immediately!"
