"Felix, I'm Bradley Sutton, colonel of the Phoenix Legion. My grandfather was once comrades-in-arms with Mr. Holt Senior."noveldrama
Felix's attitude naturally shifted when he heard Bradley's introduction. If Ernest was a war hero, how could Bradley's grandfather be any less significant?
"Hey, Bradley, what can I do for you?" Felix asked with a friendly tone.
"Alright. Zachary is my nephew. From what I understand, your disagreement with him isn't too serious. Could you do me a favor and allow him to apologize to you? Honestly, I only just found out about this situation." Felix pulled the car over to the side of the road, smiling. "Since it is you, of course, I'll give you this courtesy."
After all, their disagreement hadn't gone too far. If it had, even Bradley's intervention wouldn't have helped.
"Thank you very much. I'll make sure my cousin keeps an eye on Zachary in the future." With that matter resolved, Felix turned his car around and decided to head home.
Meanwhile, Dora, who was sitting in Franklin's car on the way back, pouted unhappily.
Sam, who sat in the passenger seat, sighed and said, "Come on, Dora. Don't be upset. You were gambling with the fate of our entire family! And it's obvious that Felix is trying to fight an uphill battle.
"If you had gone with him, the Xanthos family would have resented us, and it would've caused even more trouble."
Frowning, Franklin added, "See? Your younger brother is being more sensible than you. Felix may be a powerful martial artist, but nowadays, what truly matters is who has your back. Stop sulking, and don't leave the house for the next few days." Dora shook her head, still holding firm to her belief.
"Dad, I followed you back as you asked, but I still think Felix is far from simple. He said he could help our family with the Veilflower. If I had gone with him tonight, we could've deepened our relationship."
"Deepen our relationship"?" Sam scoffed. "If Felix steps foot in the Xanthos residence, he won't even get the chance to regret it afterward."
Just then, Dora's phone rang, and her expression immediately changed. "It's Zachary."
Sam jumped at the opportunity to mock her. "See? You didn't even go, and he's already coming to stir up trouble. Good thing I told Dad in time, or things would be much worse." Dora glared at Sam and reluctantly answered the call. "Zachary, what do you want?" "I... I really need your help, Dora. Could you set up a meeting with Felix for me? I want to sincerely apologize to him. I was blind and made a mistake. Please, I'm begging you!
"I swear I'm not drunk, and my mind is clear right now. Please don't ask any more questions and just help me arrange a meeting with him. I need to apologize in person. I'll be extremely grateful afterward!"
Dora listened, thinking she might be hallucinating. She wouldn't have believed it if Zachary hadn't kept emphasizing his seriousness.
After she hung up, even Franklin couldn't suppress his curiosity. "What's the matter? I thought I had already explained everything to his dad."
Bam!
Dora angrily punched the back of the seat, fuming.
"This is all your fault! I could have... Never mind. It's too late now. Zachary called to beg me to arrange a meeting with Felix so he could apologize in person!" What?
Sam and Franklin gasped in unison.
Zachary wanted to apologize in person? Could Felix really possess some hidden, unimaginable power? Or did he have a powerful person backing him? 1
