Xena knew Jaden had already achieved the level of Martial King. He was capable of projecting Primordial Energy to kill invisibly. The security cameras had already been destroyed. There would be no evidence even if the murder happened right before her eyes. Martial artists of this caliber were normally handled by the headquarters. Even as the goddess of war, she was not qualified to face someone of his strength.

In desperation, Xena blurted out, "If you kill him, I will never be with you!"

Frowning, Jaden lowered his hand. "Fine. I'll spare his life since you're the goddess of war and have duties to fulfill. But you'll have to explain this to your mentor. If not, my vow to him would become a joke."

Xena sighed in relief. "I'll explain everything."

The two of them left.

In the yard, Felix had just seen Sherlyn off, too. He merely glanced their way without much concern. He would have confronted Jaden for sure if Xena had not been there. But since she was present, he preferred not to get involved. Xena stopped walking when they were near Tabiner Bay. Jaden tried to take her hand, but she pulled away.

"What's wrong? Don't you see we're a perfect match? You'll be mine sooner or later, so why resist?"

Sensing Jaden's domineering attitude, Xena worried that he would kill Felix if she could not keep him calm. Her mind raced for a solution.

It was not that she cared for Felix. She just could not bear the thought of someone dying because of her. Even if she were not the goddess of war, she would feel terrible if such a thing happened.

Finally, she had an idea. "I'm not in the mood for romance right now because my grandpa's been bedridden and unconscious for a long time. Do you understand?"noveldrama

Jaden smiled. "You should have said so earlier. I'm the elder of Crimson Sage Sect, and my mentor is the Supreme Leader. I know plenty of master healers. I'll find you the best one a soon as possible, so your grandpa will be fine for sure."

Although she was somewhat pleased, Xena could not help feeling bitter. She would not have paid him any attention if Jaden was just a powerful martial artist. But his other roles and titles were impossible to ignore.

"If you can find a master healer to cure my grandpa, I'll give our relationship a try."
