Billionaire With Husband 288

After a moment of hesitation, Felix agreed to exchange contact information with Zara.

"I live in Avesburgh," he said.

With his details in hand, Zara smiled sweetly as she watched him enter a taxi.

"I've met an interesting person, sir. It's the first time since leaving the mountain that I've been defeated by someone my age," Zara muttered.noveldrama

Felix soon arrived at a bustling commercial street in Yartford. He couldn't help but marvel at the sight. There was a small, 20-square-yard pasta shop with a long line of customers. People were eating their pasta while standing or squatting all around. "Indeed, when one door closes, another opens. It's just a matter of time."

This pasta shop belonged to Madeline. Despite its tiny size, its prime location in the city meant that the annual rent was a steep one million dollars. While a price might be unreasonable in a place like Avesburgh, it was apparently worth it in Yartford. "Felix, you're here," Madeline greeted him warmly as she stepped out of the shop.

"Impressive! With a business like this, you must be earning a few million dollars a year. Is it always this busy?"

"Yes, though weekends are even busier. Do you believe in my vision of opening a chain of shops now?" she replied with a smile.

Felix chuckled. "I've always believed in you. You mentioned you needed to discuss something important, and I happen to have time tonight."

It turned out that Jack had let something slip, casually mentioning Felix's whereabouts, which led to Madeline messaging him even before he had arrived at the Traditional Medicine Association.

Lowering her head, Madeline's smile faded, and she spoke softly. "To be honest, I feel a bit. embarrassed asking for your help."

Felix shook his head. "I'm already here, so there's no need to feel that way. Besides, given our relationship, you can ask me for anything."

Seeing his first love settling into a stable life made him genuinely happy.

"Well, you probably already know that a man started coming to the shop for noodles, and we grew closer. He began pursuing me, and I like him, too. While we haven't officially defined our relationship, we're pretty much in a relationship. This morning, he suddenly told me that his sister wanted to meet me and invited me to dinner. I couldn't turn her

down, so I agreed."

Hearing this, Felix quickly grasped the situation. "Are you nervous about going alone?"

She nodded, and from her expression, Felix could tell that traces of her past insecurities still lingered.

"I'd like you to pretend to be my cousin and accompany me. He's a good guy, and I don't want to miss out on this chance."

"Sure, but you need to call me cousin first," Felix joked, making Madeline laugh. She playfully hit him with her fist.

"Ugh, you're just looking for a chance to take advantage of me, huh?"

Suddenly, she eyed Felix from head to toe. "The current you is exactly the type of guy women fall for easily. You have no idea how hard it was for me to move on.

Felix could see the sincerity in her words. He didn't want to hold on to anyone unnecessarily.

"As long as you've moved on, that's all that matters. Shall we head out now?"

Madeline responded with a mysterious smile. "Of course! But in Yartford, you have to experience the subway. Let me show you what it's like."

Felix was taken aback. He had never ridden the subway before.

Just then, Xena called him, and Felix could guess the reason.

"Felix, my grandfather has woken up. He wants to see you. It's time we resolved the matter of our engagement."
