Chapter 416

Renae's hands trembled slightly as she held the coffee, and she looked at Matthew with rosy cheeks. The moment their eyes met, she nervously looked away. She then carried on as if nothing had happened and poured some coffee from the pot. Trevor expected Renae to snap, so he stared at her for a while. Seeing she did not react, he couldn't help but frown, puzzled about why she chose to stay quiet. Shouldn't she have been mad?

Right then, Renae flashed him an easy smile and said, "Is that true? Is he okay with me being a widow?

Renae had missed her shot in the private room at the spa, and now she wanted to see if Matthew was interested in her.

Really? She didn't blow up? Trevor was utterly surprised. How could this be happening? The way Renae put it seemed like she was hoping Matthew would make a move on her.

Matthew was also taken aback for a moment. Reane's words had gotten his imagination running wild. The way she bent down with her hips up right in front of him got his blood pumping.

At this point, Matthew couldn't help but agree that he was getting more and more carried away by his lust.

When Matthew had just gotten out of prison, it was only natural that he felt a stir after seeing a woman. After all, spending three years without a woman was a long time.

Just a few days ago, Matthew had spent some intimate moments with Rachel, so he ought to be quite satisfied. But it had only been a week without a woman, and now he found himself wanting to make move at the sight of one. Was there something wrong with the cultivation method Nicholas had taught him?

Ansel had mentioned before that Nicholas had a ton of women, and it was the same for everyone practicing this cultivation method.

If Matthew followed the same path, would he end up with lots of women in the future? Was he destined to become a player like Nicholas?

Part of Matthew was looking forward to it, but he also had this strange fear of turning into that.

Renae subtly sized up Matthew and saw him blushing as he stared at her butt. She felt a tingling sensation in her perky hips as if his gaze carried electricity.

Feeling a little lightheaded, she finished pouring the coffee, her face turning red. "Enjoy your tea. I'll go make us some food," she said. With that, Renae strutted off.

Watching Renae leave, Matthew brought the cup to his lips and took a sip. Recalling how Trevor had called him out earlier, Matthew asked, "What was that all about just now?"

Sporting a blank expression, Trevor coldly replied, "I just think she should be more wary of men, so I gave her a heads-up."

Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Are you worried that I'll make a move on her?"

Brad had sent Trevor over to lend a hand, but he ended up acting warily around Matthew. Matthew needed to get to the bottom of this.

Trevor looked like he was carved out of stone as he remained silent.

Matthew raised an eyebrow, taking the silence as a yes. He couldn't wrap his head around why Trevor would act this way, so he tentatively asked, "Do you like her or something?"

en

That was the only reason that made sense. Matthew couldn't think of any other explanation. Sitting upright, Trevor looked a bit flustered as he shook his head. "No! That's not the case."

Matthew's expression darkened. If it wasn't about Renae, then it had to be something against him. "So, you have a problem with me, huh? We're both men here, so let's not beat around the bush. Just spill it What's on your mind?"

Trevor took a deep breath as if he was making a big decision. "I understand why you'd kill those guys at the spa, but going after an old man and a woman? That's going too far."

Matthew took a good look at Trevor

and was surprised that Trevor was a

real goody-two-shoes. With his face hardened, he retorted, "Are you saying can't kill them just because they're old man and woman? Am I supposed to let them kill me?"

Trevor crossed his arms. "How could they ever take your life? It's just an old man and a woman. You could finish them with just one finger."

Matthew's expression turned livid. "You should go. Find Brad and ask him to send another person here."

Trevor couldn't help but furrow his brows. "Why? Are you upset just because I point out you kill old men and women?"

Matthew's muscles tensed up. "I told you to leave, but it's really for your own good."

Trevor knitted his brows together. "How's that supposed to do good for me?"noveldrama

Brad had assigned Trevor to Matthew. If he was sent back before completing his mission, he'd have a hard time explaining himself when he got back.

Matthew warned, "I'm worried that next time we face off against enemies, I might end up killing you."

Why would Matthew want to take Trevor's life? Trevor stared at Matthew in shock, bewildered by Matthew's reasoning.

He carefully observed Matthew's expression and noticed the sharp look in Matthew's eyes. He realized that Matthew was serious about considering killing him.

A chill washed over him as if he was in an ice bath. He couldn't but tremble all over.
