Chapter 382

Matthew's eyes suddenly turned cold, and his right foot shot out in a flash. Before Kael's fist could land, he was sent flying backward.

He crashed onto a chair, which toppled and sent him sprawling on the ground. He clutched his abdomen and writhed in agony. Sweat poured down his forehead as he gritted his teeth, unable to utter a single word. The other security guards froze with fear as they retreated.noveldrama

Soon, the commotion drew everyone's attention.

As soon as Rachel walked in, her face went pale at the sight. She hurried over to Tracy. "W-Why on earth did you let him come?"

Tracy was puzzled. "What's wrong? He can't be here?"

Rachel frowned, and a hint of worry flickered in her eyes. "He can come if he wants, but why did you let him cause trouble here?"

Tracy felt Matthew was being unfairly blamed. "It wasn't Matthew causing trouble. The security guards started it. They threw the first punch."

Rachel waved her hand dismissively. "I don't care who started it. Just get him out of here."

Matthew overheard their conversation and became increasingly frustrated. Ever since their breakup, it seemed Rachel found fault in everything he did. "Rachel, stay out of my business."

Rachel hesitated and rolled her eyes at him. She turned to Tracy and said, "Get him out of here, now. This isn't the place for him."

Before she had arrived, Isaac called her to inform her that he was hosting the forum and had reserved the best seat for her. When she heard he would attend, she had almost turned around and left.

But she couldn't afford to because she needed to multiply her family's assets tenfold within three years and free herself from his grasp. Hence, she had to make the most of this forum.

When she'd seen Matthew, her heart had nearly stopped. Isaac had been looking for a reason to kill him, and now Matthew was causing trouble.

Who was at fault didn't matter because she knew he was in danger. All she could think about now was getting him out of there.

Tracy looked at Matthew. "Maybe we should leave."

He shrugged it off. "Leave? Why? We haven't even started. We're here for a reason, so let's stick to it. I'm not backing down over something this trivial."

Rachel's anxiety spiked. She had risked everything for Matthew and her family, but he acted as if nothing was at stake. Unfortunately, she couldn't tell him about it.

From a distance, Isaac led a group of people toward the commotion. Rachel's anxiety peaked as she worried he might encounter Matthew and kill him.

She turned to Matthew and whispered, "You shouldn't be here. What are you still doing here? Leave now." Then, she rushed toward Isaac.

Matthew frowned and was puzzled by her concern. She had never acted like this before. Even after their breakup, she seemed overly concerned about where he was. Tracy tugged on his sleeve. "Maybe you should leave. I can handle things here."

He shook his head. "You almost got hurt earlier. How can I leave you here alone?"

Her heart raced at his words. She had more to say but found herself nodding. "Okay. I'll do as you say."

Kael saw Isaac in the distance and hurried over to complain, "Mr. Wood, there's a guy causing trouble over there. tried to kick him out, but instead of leaving, he attacked me."

Isaac glanced at Matthew in the distance, and the pain from his old injury seemed to flare up again. His gaze turned venomous as he barked at Kael. If you can't handle it, call the police. There are armed officers stationed outside. I want to see if he can still act tough with bullets."

Rachel's face turned pale at these words. "Mr. Wood, you promised me you wouldn't go after Matthew. Are you going back on your word?"

Isaac's jealousy flared at Rachel's defense of Matthew, but he kept his composure. "You saw it yourself. This time, he's the one causing trouble."
