Friday morning. The usual four met up before school. Ome looked over at Ren. “You ready to see you’re test results?”

“No, I don’t really care about it.”

“I’m surprised. You always do so well.”

Ren sighed “I know I did fine.” She grabbed ahold of his arm. “I’m more excited to go to the amusement park tomorrow.”

Ome scratched his cheek. “Yeah, me too.”

Ren looked over at Mio and Eizan. Mio was currently hanging on his arm. “Did he feed her a love potion. Those two have been inseparable the last few days. I wonder If something happened?”

Ome laughed “Yeah, something has definitely changed.”

Mio was staring up at Eizan. “I hope I did well on the test.”

He patted her on the head. “I’m sure you did fine. We mostly studied every night.”

She giggled “Mostly.”

Eizan sighed “You know, you’re driving me crazy right?” Eizan isn’t the type to hold back from obtaining the things he wants. The fact that their living together and are alone all the time is making it hard for him to control himself.

She can tell he’s frustrated and she’s been enjoying teasing him. She always makes sure not to go too far. She’s well aware she’s living with a wolf. Mio laughed “Yup, I know. That’s what’s fun about it.” She thought about doing the whole shower together in a bathing suit thing she’s seen in manga, but she knows they wouldn’t be able to hold back if she did. She thought to herself “Sorry, but you’ll have to wait until were officially engaged.”

Across the court yard Murata was staring at the four of them. All he could see was the girl he loved hanging all over the man he hated. You could see the anger on his face. He mumbled to himself “Why does she love that guy? Why didn’t the school punish them. I spread all that stuff online and nothing happened. If anything, they seem to be closer than before.” He didn’t seem like the same guy from a few weeks ago. His hair was a mess, his clothes weren’t perfect like normal, and he had dark circles under his eyes. “I’m going to make you pay, Eizan. Just you wait. I just can’t let them find out it was me.” The fact that they were living together had been driving him crazy. “I will make her mine, no matter what it takes.” He balled up his hands into fists and walked off towards the test rankings. “I’ll show him. I studied my ass off. I’m sure I’ll be number one.” He walked up to the board. There was a crowd of people all looking at the scores. He looked up and his anger grew. “How the hell did this happen? Did he cheat?” He looked over to see the usual four approaching. He stormed off in anger. There were a few of the other students staring at him, wondering what he was so angry about. Towa had gotten fourth on the board and should have been happy about it.

Mio ran up and pointed at the board. She looked up at Eizan “Look, I got 3rd place.”

Eizan was watching Murata storm off angrily. “I bet that pissed him off.” He smiled at her and patted her on the head. “You did good.” He looked up at the board to see the rankings. Everyone was staring at him. He had never gotten the top score before. They were all stunned. Some people were looking at him suspiciously. He could hear some people whispering. He knew they probably thought he cheated. “Look at that, Koga got second. I bet he’s happy about that.”

From behind him he heard a voice say. “Like hell I’m happy. I tried my hardest to beat you. I hoped I could at least tie you.”

Eizan laughed “You only missed one question. That’s nothing to be upset about.”

Koga frowned “It’s truly not fair.”

Eizan patted him on the shoulder. “It’s alright man. Don’t judge yourself too harshly. Where did Hattori score?”

Koga sighed. “Twenty sixth. That’s way better than she did last time, but I know she’s capable of more.”

Eizan laughed “Just remember what’s important to you isn’t always important to her. I’m sure she wishes you would pay more attention to your fellow students.”

Koga shook his head “Not going to happen. I love that girl, but her incessant need to be involved in everyone else’s business is not something that I understand.”

Eizan laughed “Yeah, I don’t get it either.” Mio was staring at the both of them thinking “When did they start to get along so well?”

Rena and Ome were staring at their respective scores. Ren looked over at Ome. “You got into the top twenty. That’s great.” He was ranked 17th place.

Ome scratched his cheek. “I couldn’t have done it without you. If you hadn’t come over to study every night I wouldn’t have done as well. Besides, you got fifth. You’re amazing.”

Ren puffed out her chest. “Thank you. I got brains and beauty.” Ren was really happy at the moment. Ome just called her amazing and that made her extremely happy. She was a little full of herself though.

Ome smiled at the obviously proud beauty beside him and thought “She sure is cute, when she acts all full of herself. It makes me want to pat her on the head.” His hand moved before he realized it and he placed his hand on top of her head and rubbed it lightly. “You did good. You should be proud.” Ren immediately started blushing. She didn’t try to pull away which kind of surprised Ome. He could feel the death glares from some of his fellow male students.

She looked up at him. “You better not do this to any other girls.”

Ome shook his head “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

Ren puffed out her cheeks in a childish manner “It’s fine then.”

Mio and Eizan were staring at them from a couple meters away. Mio whispered to Eizan. “She’s definitely going to say yes.”

Eizan sighed “Let’s just hope her family approves of him. You’ve told me how strict her parents are.”

Mio smiled “They’ll cross that bridge when the time comes. Did you get everything packed for our trip tonight? I’ve never been to Kyoto I’m excited.”

Eizan looked away “I think I did.”

Mio giggled “How is it, that you can memorize everything in a book in a matter of a few hours, but you can’t pack a bag correctly?”

Eizan scratched his cheek. “I’m not perfect, ok. My brain just doesn’t register stuff like that to be important.”

Mio just smiled at him “Don’t worry. I checked your bag this morning before we left. You only forgot your toothbrush.”

“Then why did you ask me?”

“I just wanted to tease you a little. You have been teasing me the last few days.”

Eizan laughed “That’s payback for the fact that you realized you can terrorize me.”

She motioned for him to come a little closer so she could whisper something to him. “You’re not the only one holding back.” His eyes shot open wide. Mio ran away towards Ren and grabbed her hand. “Let’s go I need to use the restroom and class is about to start.” The two of them scurried off toward the classroom. He could see the top of her ears were red.

He thought to himself “That girls going to be the death of me.”

Ome walked up next to him. “That girls got you wrapped around her little finger, doesn’t she?”

Eizan frowned “You’re one to talk.”

Ome laughed “I can’t deny it. Did you know she came over every night and forced me study.”

Eizan replied sarcastically “I doubt she had to twist your arm.” He smiled mischievously “That was a slick move a second ago. I thought she might swat your hand away.”

Ome seemed a little embarrassed “For some reason my hand just moved on its own.”

Eizan laughed “Yeah, that happens sometimes.” They both burst out laughing. Eizan suddenly got a stern look on his face. “That bastard is up to something.”

Ome frowned “I noticed his angry little outburst. Do you think it was him who spread the rumors online?”

“All I know for sure is that he’s been watching us from a distance. I don’t think Mio realizes thankfully.”

“What are you going to do about it.”

“Nothing. I can’t do anything without proof. I talked to my grandfather on the phone a few days ago. He said he could pay someone to track who posted the information, but I refused. He told me Mio’s father wasn’t thrilled. I called him and hopefully smoothed things over for now. I’m still pissed about it.”

Ome sighed “Well, you have all summer together. Hopefully, some of the rumors die down by the time we get back.”

“Yeah, I hope you’re right. She’s not making it easy. I tried to warn her about hanging all over me at school. But that just made her mad at me.”

Ome laughed “Yeah, I bet it did.”
