Back in Nagoya. Ren and Ome are walking towards the Ferris wheel. Ome looks over at Ren who is holding her stuffed animal. “Have you ever been on a Ferris wheel before?”
Ren shakes her head. “Is it scary?”
Ome giggles. “It might be the tamest ride here. You’re not afraid of heights, right?”
Ren thinks for a few seconds. “I don’t think I am.”
Ome reaches up and grabs her hand. “It will be fine. It’s completely safe.”
They make their way up to the Ferris wheel. “It’s so pretty.” She looks up and gazes at the ride. “It’s really tall, isn’t it?”
“That it is. It makes for a spectacular view at night.”
They make their way onto the ride while holding hands. Ren sat down opposite of him in the ride car and the wheel slowly starts to move. Ren stares out the window as it slowly rises. He can see the amazement on her face as the slowly move higher and higher. Ome’s palms become sweaty as he thinks about what he’s about to do. His pulse quickens and he feels like his stomach is in knots. He’s staring at Ren whose gazing out the window in wonderment as they reach the top. He does his best to calm himself before finally speaking. “Ren.” She looks over at him. “I have a question for you.”
Ren can feel the slightly tense atmosphere immediately. She knows what’s coming and her face slowly begins to heat up as her heart starts to race. “Y-yes.”
“I know we haven’t been hanging out very long.” He pauses for a few seconds adding to the tense atmosphere. “But I feel closer to you than I have ever felt around another person.” His heart is racing and he feels a lump in his throat. “The more I’m around you the more I want to know about you. You’re amazing and if it were up to me, I would spend every day with you.” He’s now staring directly at her. His passionate gaze is making her heart flutter at the anticipation of his next words. “Ren, will you go out with me.”
A tear rolled down her cheek. This shocked Ome and he didn’t know what to do. “I’m sorry I didn’t want to make you cry. If you hate it.”
Ren started shaking her head. “No, of course I will go out with you. I was just so happy I can’t stop it.” Ren starts wiping her tears on her new doll she had been holding.
Ome felt all the pressure he had been feeling wash away. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. “I have a present for you.”
Ren was staring at the small box in his hand. Her mind went wild as she stared at the box. “He just asked me out. He’s not going to ask me to marry him is he. Not that I would say no, but it is way to fast.” Right as she was about to stop him from proposing he opened the small box to reveal a small necklace. Ren was staring at the small amethyst surrounded by the petals of a flower. “Is it a lily?”
Ome nodded. “Yup.”
She reached out her hand and grabbed the box from him. “It’s so beautiful.” They were now at the top of the ride as he felt his pocket buzz. He grabbed his phone and shut off the alarm.
“Look out the window to you left.” Ren turned her gaze out the window just in time to see the first firework explode a little ways away. Her eyes opened wide as she watched them go off one by one.
She turned back to Ome with a giant smile on her face. “Did you plan this?”
Ome giggled. “It’s better than shoving a cracker in your mouth.”
They both burst out laughing. Ren was laughing so hard she was in tears. Stifling her laughter. “T-that I-it is.”
All of a sudden, she leapt into Ome’s arms. Slightly catching him off guard. She was hugging him. She looked up at him. “There’s only one thing that could make this better.” Ome looked at her curiously. “Kiss me you idiot.”
Ome giggled. “As you wish.” He leaned in and gave her a small kiss on the lips.” Ren’s face turned completely red.
She hugged him even tighter in embarrassment. “Yup that’s perfect.”
Ome giggled. “You really are demanding.” She looked up at him with her cheeks puffed out.
“Yes, I am.”
Ome smiled. “It’s ok. It’s one of the things I like about you.”
She grumbled good as she buried her head in his chest. Just then they both heard their phones ding time and time again. Ome reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Looking down at his phone he can see a picture of Eizan on stage behind a drum set. “What’s this?” Ren looked at the screen and her eyes widened.
“Look there’s a video.”
Ome pressed play as the wheel was slowly moving towards the ground. “Is that Eizan? When did he learn to play the drums.”
A few minutes before in Kyoto Mio is currently standing off to the side of the stage watching Eizan and the Heathens walk onto stage. Emica steps up to the microphone as the rest of the band member’s take the stage. “Today is a special set. A little over a year ago our drummer had to move away suddenly. Today is his farewell show so please give him a huge round of applause. The crowd roared as Eizan raised his drum stick above his head. “Alright, here we go. We’re the Heathens I hope you enjoy the show.” Mio was amazed as they started to play.

“They’re really good.” She pulled out her phone and started to record them. She hoped to save this memory forever. She stared at Eizan as he played. “He really is amazing. How did he learn to play so well. Emica has gotten even better since the recording that I saw.” The crowed was cheering and going crazy as they played. Standing beside her was Denji.
“I really wish I could be as good as him.”
Mio looked over at a slightly depressed looking Denji. “Don’t worry about it. He’s a genius.”
Denji sighed. “Yeah, he is.”
Mio shook her head. “No, I mean he’s a certified genius. Normal people could never do the crazy things he does.”
Denji stared at her with wide eyes. “You’re serious, aren’t you?”
Mio nodded. “He’s so talented at everything, I’ve just learned not to be surprised anymore.”
Denji smiled. “That makes me feel a little better.”
Mio giggled. “Good.”
They continued to watch the rest of the show. Mio started to cheer like the rest of the crowd.
Banging away on the drum set in front of him Eizan had a giant smile on his face as sweat dripped down from his brow. “This is harder than I remember.” He looked out over the crowd as he played. “I remember why I used to do this now. This feeling is amazing.” He looked towards Mio as he played. “Good, it looks like she’s having fun.” Most people couldn’t be lost in thought as they played. Eizan never realized this though.
Back in Nagoya Ren and Ome had got off the Ferris wheel and were slowly walking watching the video of Eizan playing drums. Ren was holding onto his left arm as they walked. “They’re really good. That girl can really sing and their guitarist is awesome.”
Ome nodded at Ren’s observation. “But the most surprising part is…”
Ren giggled. “Yeah, our resident delinquent.” She sighed. “I wonder if he’s going to get her into trouble one of these days.”
Ome laughed. “Even if he did. I’m sure he would do everything in his power to protect her.”
Ren smiled. “Yeah, your probably right about that.”
Ren pulled out her phone and told Ome to stand still. She took a picture of both of them together. “Now I feel like gloating.” Ome tilted his head to the side.
Back in Kyoto Mio felt her phone buzz. She looked down at her phone. “What’s this they finally started dating. Oh, he asked her out at the top of a Ferris wheel as fireworks went off. How cliché.” She giggled. “I guess, I prefer something simpler.” She thought back to Eizan shoving a cracker in her mouth as he asked her out and giggled. “That might have been a little too simple.” She turned her gaze back to the band as they were finishing their last song. As the song ended Eizan stood up and crossed his sticks above his head. The crowd cheered as Emica thanked them.
Eizan rushed to Mio’s side and picked her up twirling her around. “So, how was it.”
Mio giggled. “You guys were awesome. Maybe you should form a band when you get back.”
Eizan shook his head. “It just wouldn’t be the same. I chose these guys because I heard they were talented.”
Mio looked surprised “You researched them first.”
Eizan laughed. “Of course.”
She shook her head. “Of course.”
After the show they hung out with the band members for a while.
Kyosuke looked at Eizan. “So, are you finally going to tell us who you really are?”
Eizan giggled. “What do you mean. I’m Eizan.”
Kyosuke sighed. “Come on man. We don’t even know your last name.”
Eizan sighed. He then began to tell them the story of who he really is. He told them about why he had to leave and all about his family. Emica whispered to Mio. “So, he’s rich too.”
Mio shook her head. “Nah, his grandfather is.”
She pulled out her phone and showed her a picture of Eizan on a normal basis. “He looks so dashing and proper on a regular basis.”
Mio nodded. “He’s definitely good at changing his appearance.” She pulled up a picture of Eizan and her in the fancy clothes they wore to his grandfather’s house.
“Wow. He looks like a completely different person, like a prince.”
“I know right.” Both of the girls were giggling. Eizan looked at them from the corner of his eye as he was talking to Kyosuke. He had a small smile on his face.
Matt started to laugh. “I won the bet now pay up.”
Eizan was giving them strange looks. “What bet.”
Kyosuke laughed. “Matt was the closest on your identity.”
Eizan burst out laughing. “You could have asked earlier.”
Kyosuke smiled. “What would be the fun in that.”
A while later Mio and Eizan were riding home in a cab. “Eizan was trying to get close to her.”
She frowned. “Don’t cuddle up to me you’re all sweaty.”
Eizan smelled himself. “I wore deodorant.”
Mio shook her head. “That’s not the point. Take a shower after we get home.”
Eizan smiled mischievously and raised one eyebrow. “Would you like to join me?”
Mio giggled. “Not at your parent’s house.”
Eizan smiled. “So, when we get back home.”
Mio blushed. “Maybe.” She bopped him on the nose with her finger. “If you’re good.”
Eizan pouted a little. Which made her laugh. It was nearly midnight by the time they got home. Mio actually fell asleep on him on the ride home. He was staring at her peaceful face as they pulled up to the gate. He opened the gate for the cab and instructed him to pull in front of the house so he could carry her inside. He carried her in a princess carry to their bedroom after paying the cab. As he walked out into the hall he ran into his mother. “Did you have fun?”
He smiled. “Yup, it was the last time I’m ever going to play.”
His mom smiled. “That’s a shame. You’re very talented.”
Eizan shook his head. “You know as well as I do that being talented had nothing to do with it.”
Mary sighed. “Life isn’t necessarily about what you’re good at, but what you enjoy.”
Eizan smiled. “Yeah, I used to love playing the drums. But I feel like that time in my life has passed. Maybe, I’ll pick up the guitar next. Kyosuke got so mad at me the one time I started to play. I haven’t picked it up since.”
Mary giggled. “Let me guess, you were almost as good as him immediately.”
Eizan sighed. “Yeah, I’ve seen him play so many times it was kind of easy.”
“I’m sure singing would be challenging.”
Eizan grimaced. “No way is that going to happen.”
Mary giggled. “We’ll goodnight my son. I’m glad you came home safe.”
Mary walked off towards her bedroom. Eizan was lost in thought. He smelled the air as she walked past. “Why does she smell like cigarettes. Wait don’t tell me.” He searched his memories from the show earlier. He was looking through the faces that were in the crowd. He froze as he saw the image of his mom in the very back of the crowd in his memories. “I can’t believe she showed up. That’s why she wanted the address.” He smiled. “I love you mom.”
