Five in the morning the next day. Eizan was half a sleep staring at his father in the dojo. “Did you have fun last night.”
Eizan smiled. “Yeah, I always wanted to have one last show.”
His dad smiled. “Yeah, you were pretty good.”
Eizan tilted his head. “When did you see me play?”
Itsuki laughed. “A few months before you left. After the drinking incident I made sure to follow you to ensure you weren’t up to no good.”
Eizan shook his head. “You should have just told me. I would have invited you to the show.”
Itsuki laughed. “Yeah, but then it wouldn’t have been a very good spy operation then would it. Besides, it might have affected you playing.”
Eizan laughed. “Nah, I would have been, ok. I do wish I could have shown Elise.”
Itsuki laughed. “I’d rather you not expose your little sister to your crazy night life.”
Eizan burst out laughing. “Yeah, that’s probably for the best. I have seen some crazy things playing shows.”
Itsuki sighed. “I’m sure you have.”
Itsuki took his stance. “Today, I’m not going to go easy on you.”
Eizan sighed. “Just avoid my injured ribs please.”
Itsuki scoffed. “Just protect yourself.”
Eizan laughed slightly annoyed. “That’s easier said than done against you.”
Itsuki scowled. “Enough talk. Come at me.”
Itsuki and Eizan started fighting at a quick pace. Itsuki landed blow after blow on Eizan while dodging or blocking most of his strikes. After about twenty minutes Eizan was knocked on his but by Itsuki. “I never could beat you.”
Itsuki extended his hand to help Eizan off of the mat. “You’re to ridged in your fighting style. That brain of yours is great for memorization but improvisation isn’t your strong suit.”
Eizan was breathing heavily as he stood up. “Yeah, I know what you mean. I have all the moves down but I’m always overthinking things.”
“You have to train your body to move without thinking. Then you will be able to beat me.”
Eizan frowned. “That’s easier said than done.”
Itsuki shook his head. “No, you’re already capable of it. Every time you get angry even, I’m afraid of you. It’s when you stop thinking that you are truly dangerous.”
Eizan tilted his head to his side. “Yeah, but I have no control then.”
Itsuki stared at him. “Yeah, that’s why it’s dangerous. You must learn to let go of your thoughts while remaining calm. It’s the key to success. Rely on your instincts and let go of your worry.”
Eizan stared at his father while lost in thought.
“Alright, now let’s take a run around the compound and do a workout before sparing again.”
Eizan frowned at his father’s orders.
While Itsuki and Eizan were training Mio was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling. “Last night was crazy. I can’t believe he would do stuff like that all the time.” She picked up her phone and stared at the picture of Eizan behind a drum set. “The more I get to know him the more interesting he becomes.” She stood up from the bed and made her way towards the bathroom. On her way there she ran into Mary who looked tired. “Good morning, Mary.”
Mary looked up at Mio drowsily. Mary has the same intelligence as Eizan but definitely lacks the same stamina. Going to a show last night completely drained her. She yawned. “Good morning.”
“Are you headed to the bath.”
“Yeah, I need to wash the smell of cigarettes out of my hair.”
Mio gave her a strange look. “I thought you hated cigarettes”
Mary laughed. “I do. But I followed you two to the show last night to watch him play.”
Mio’s eyes widened. “You did what? Does Eizan know?”
Mary giggled. “Probably. I’m not as sneaky as Itsuki.”
Mio tilted her head. “Itsuki has seen him play?”
“Yeah, a long time ago.” She grabbed Mio’s hand “Let’s take a bath together.”
Mio was stunned as she was pulled a long by Mary. She wanted to tell her no, but the words weren’t coming out. She was dragged to the bath by Mary. They had a rather large bath in their house so they two ladies weren’t cramped. Mary was currently washing Mio’s hair. “You have really soft hair.”
“Thanks.”
“So have you and my son bathed together yet?”
“W-w-what? No, we have not.”
Mary giggled. “I thought so. Make sure to take your time with such things. I know he can be a little pushy, but it’s your job to keep him in check.”
Mio sighed. “You’re asking me to keep a wolf on a leash.”
Mary burst out laughing. “So, he’s a wolf.”
Mio immediately regretted her words. “I think that might be the best description.”
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Mary seemed lost in thought for a few seconds. “I would say he’s closer to a puppy than a wolf.”
Mio laughed. “Maybe, he was when he was a kid.”
Mary shook her head. “You’re both still children in my eyes.”
Mio turned to look at Mary. She was momentarily stunned by her beauty. “I wish I was as beautiful as her.”
Mary smiled. “Trust me you are just as beautiful as me.”
Mio looked stunned. “Can you read minds?”
Mary shook her head. “I’ve just seen that look before. I was a model after all.”
“Why did you quit?”
Mary shrugged. “It was just a hobby.”
“I see. Kind of like Eizan playing in a band.”
Mary nodded. “Exactly.” Mary looked kind of sad all of a sudden. “Do you think you could do me a favor?”
“Sure.”
“Do you think you two could move to Kyoto in the future?”
Mio froze. She wasn’t apposed to the idea, but she wasn’t sure of Eizan’s thoughts on the matter. “I’m not sure if he would agree.”
Mary sighed. “Yeah, I figured you would say that. I just want to be close to my grandchildren.”
Mio started coughing. “Grandchildren. I think we have some time before that happens.”
Mary giggled. “Accidents happen. Eizan was an accident.”
“What? Really?”
Mary sighed. “I never wanted to have children. I was afraid for them, but then luckily Eizan happened. I never knew kids could bring so much joy. It’s a double-edged blade though. On one hand they can make you extremely happy, on the other they can bring great sorrow.”
“I see.” Mio seemed lost in thought. “I think I still want children someday though. I don’t know his opinion on it though.”
“I’m sure he has the same opinion I used to have. He may be quite reluctant. So, I say you trick him.”
Mio shook her head furiously. “I would never do that.” Her opinion of Mary skewed slightly from her previous assumptions at that moment. She now realized that Mary was the type of person to get her way by any means necessary. Even if it meant conspiring against her own son to get grandchildren.
Mary started giggling. “Aww. Your no fun.”
Mio and Mary finished their bath and Mio went to their room to pack up her things. Eizan came in twenty minutes later drying his hair with a towel. “Did you sleep well?”
Mio stared at the shirtless Eizan. His toned and slightly wet physique made her blush. She threw a shirt at him. “Put a shirt on.”
She turned back towards the bad she was packing. Eizan slowly approached her and hugged her around the waist from behind. She let out a small squeal when he grabbed her. He whispered into her ear. “Am I so unattractive that you don’t want to see me shirtless?”
Mio stuttered. “T-t-t-that’s not the point. It’s lewd.”
Eizan lightly kissed her neck. “Fine, I’ll cover myself up so you can control yourself.”
She puffed out her cheeks and turned in his arms. “That’s not what this is.” She had inadvertently put a hand on his chest. He still had his arms lightly wrapped around her waist.
Eizan smiled mischievously. “Then is it ok if I kiss you.”
She frowned. “Aren’t you a little to frisky this morning?”
“I got my blood pumping this morning.” He leaned in to kiss her.
Just then from behind him. “Eh hem.” Eizan sighed and turned to see his mother standing there with a frown on her face. “What are you trying to do in your parent’s home.”
Eizan smiled. “I’m just trying to give my fiancé a kiss.”
Mary shook her head. “Just put a shirt on. Your cab will be here in thirty minutes, or would you prefer I drove you.”
Both Eizan and Mio stiffened up at the suggestion. “N-no, I’ll get ready right away.”
Mio nodded. “Almost done packing.” Mary shook her head and continued down the hall. Eizan and Mio both looked at each other and giggled. “You got us in trouble.”
Eizan narrowed his eyes and got an evil look on his face. “You just wait till we get home. I’ll show you real trouble.”
Mio gulped. “Y-You be good.” She thought to herself. “I really am living with a wolf.”
Eizan shook his head. “I’m not a wolf.”
Mio laughed. “Are you and your mother mind readers.”
Eizan was pulling his shirt over his head. He gave her a weird look. “No, I’ve just seen that look before.” He cocked his head to the side. “What does my mother have to do with it?”
Mio giggled. “Nothing, you’re just a lot alike.”
Eizan and Mio spent the next few minutes saying their goodbyes to his family. Mary was on the brink of tears the whole time. Elise kept hugging her brother and expressing her reluctance to let him go. Itsuki just shook his head at the two ladies’ behavior. After a few minutes of waiting the cab showed up and they were headed to the train station. Eizan was staring out the window lost in thought as he watched the houses of his old neighborhood pass by. “I thought I would hate coming back her, but it turned out ok.” He looked at Mio who was staring out the opposite window. “Maybe it’s because she came with me.” He smiled at her. Mio turned her head and caught him staring.
She looked flustered “What? Do I have something on my face?”
Eizan laughed. “No, I was just thinking about how lucky I am.” Mio blushed. “What did you think of my home.”
Mio thought for a few seconds. “I was worried before we got here. But your family was incredibly loving and I had fun going to my first concert. Even if it was a little nerve wracking.” She smiled brightly. “I had a lot of fun.” She paused for a second. “We can never tell my parents that we went to an underground concert.”
Eizan nodded. “Yeah, for some reason I don’t think it would go over well.”
Little did the two of them know back in Nagoya, Murata Towa was staring at his phone watching a video. On the screen was a video of a certain underground rock band one of his friends sent him. He was staring coldly at the screen as he watched a band called the Heathens play. He got a sadistic smile on his face staring at Mio who was on the side of the stage. “I’ve finally got something to use against him.” He picked up a second phone of the table next to him. “I wonder what her father will say about this.” He proceeded to send Jotaro the video from the other phone.
Sitting in his home office Jotaro watched his cellphone buzz on his desk. He reached over and picked it up. The in a text from an unknown number was a text that read “Watch this video you might want to keep your daughter away from such places.” He stared at the video icon below it. “What’s this?” He played the video on his phone. He knew his daughter had gone to Kyoto for the weekend. She had informed him before she left. “What could this be about?” He thought. He played the video and was staring at it in shock. He immediately recognized his normally well-behaved daughter. There she was dressed in a manner he had never seen her dressed before. “Since when has she dressed like that?” He stared at the boy playing drums for a few seconds and frowned. “That’s for sure Eizan.” He watched the video in disbelief. He laughed a little. “This isn’t my type of music but they’re pretty good.” He sighed. “What should I do about this?” He paused the video and stared at his daughter. She was smiling brightly. “She looks happy.” He frowned again. “I still don’t think this is appropriate. Places like that are not good.” Jotaro thought back to his past. You wouldn’t know it by looking at him now but Jotaro wasn’t always the most upstanding citizen when he was young. He was quite the troublemaker and caused his parents many sleepless nights. He sighed. “I’m such a hypocrite. But I think I’ll have to reprimand them for this.” He looked up at the picture of his wife. “We better hope Kagami doesn’t see this.”
Staring at her phone in the kitchen Kagami was currently watching a video that had just been sent to her in shock. “I better not let Jotaro find out about this.” She smiled at her daughter. “She looks like she’s having a lot of fun. I do hope she doesn’t dress like that often. It’s very distasteful.” She sighed. “I’m going to have to reprimand them for this, especially Eizan. I know this wasn’t her idea. Let’s just hope we can keep it from Jotaro.”
Currently riding in the back of a black luxury sedan Carter is staring at a video on his phone with a big smile on his face. “Damn, If I had known it was his last show, I would have gone to see him play again.” One of his spies had sent him a video of last nights show. He watched Eizan pick up Mio and spin her around. “It seems like things are going well. Now for plan B.” He thought for a few seconds. “Hmm, maybe I should talk to them first before deciding.”
Ogata Minami was currently staring at the video coldly. “I’ll be seeing you two after summer break. Let’s hope they don’t get that close.”
